Recommended Posts

My first review, so be kind :)

Bought this set in a second-hand store.

The box was opened before and taped afterwards.

The parts bag inside on the otherhand was original and sealed.

Some facts:

Name: Indian Chief

Theme: System/Western/Indians

Year: 1997

Pieces: 20

Minifigs: 1

Price: 2,-€ (second hand)

Peeron

Brickset

Up to the review.

Some pictures of the Box.

Front: The completed Set

Side: Another Shot of the Set

Top: Relaxing Indian

Back: Some different setups. First a hunt scene with pretty colorful Buffalo

Second an eagle? Don't know what it supposed to be.

Next the instructions. Twosided paper. Nothing special, same pictures like on the box.

Pretty quick build.

The Parts.

The Minifigure. Cute little fella. Printed Torso and Legs. Cool Buffalo-Hat.

Nothing special in the back.

Weapons and Gear. Bow and Quiver in black, spear with feathers and cool looking shield.

Complete Minifig. Ready to hunt or scalp someone.

The other half of the Set. The Totem looks a little bit like a duck.

Nice colorscheme, like realworld totems.

Extra featherclip, pretty useful for details.

Summary

Design: 10/10 for the Fig, 5/10 for the Totem makes a 7,5/10 for the set.

Build: 5/10 Quick and Easy.

Playability: 8/10 The Chief can command all of your indians or go dancing round the Ducktotem :sweet:

Price: 10/10 I got it cheap. If you can get it cheap, get it.

Overall: 8/10 A great little set with great Fig and a funny looking Totem.

Pretty decent review but you have the thumbnails instead of the full sized pics, I'd definetaly post the full size pics sibce they are the corect size.

This would be a good way to get a sweet looking fig. I can see multiple uses for that cool printed head. I never even knew that this minifigure existed until now, so thank you.

I always thought of the chief as the guy with the big feather headdress and this guy as the medicine man...

Yeah, this fig is the medicine man to me as well. There's another set with just the "real" Indian chief, called Tribal Chief, though.

This set is a promotional set, I've learned, so maybe that's the reason for the mix-up.

But that doesn't take anything away from the review itself, so thanks for that!

Nice little review  BTW, I'll never understand why they called it "Indian chief", it looks more like a shaman to me

Yeah, you're right. I forgot to mention that it was a Promotional. I can remember that a few stores here in germany sold it regulary but in a limited amount.

Nice review, although your pictures could use some more light here and there.

The Western minifigs are really nice, although I don't like that they've given the Native Americans and some of the villains 'noses', which not many other minifigs have.

Thanks for the review!

This minifig is a good one and I like that it comes with plenty of accessories

This review will fit nicely in the Western Review Index that someone made recently

Good job!

Just a side note about this "cheif-or-not" discussion.

You could think of this shaman as the spiritual chief of the tribe whereas this guy is the worldly chief. That's a very common division of leadership in many cultures so maybe the set name isn't that wrong after all.

Hey he is a medicine man on brickset, ah well it's Lego he can be who ever.

In any case great (cool) minifig  , sadly crap totem pole  .
