Mörs Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 (edited) Theme: Castle Subtheme: Fright Knights Year released: 1997 Pieces: 12 Minifigs: 1 Price: an equivalent of about $4 when it was new Not really much to say about this set... other than it was the cheapest way to get a dragon. You also get the Batlord, the broadsword (or whatever it's called) and a bat. Pretty neat. The only thing wrong in the above picture is that the Batlord's sceptre should be translucent red (I lost that piece). Doesn't that look just awesome? A dark lord of dungeons flying around on a black dragon... As somebody has pointed out recently, the Fright Knights make up for the best "evil" faction of Castle. By the way, the dragon's name is "Draco". And here's a bonus scene! VVOOOOOFFF!! Draco gets tired of having to constantly carry the Batlord around, and turns against his master! You can also the Buttlord's face here (I like it; it's pretty rare). Design: 1/10 (Nothing "designed" here, really.) Playability: 5/10 Pieces: 9/10 (As I said it's THE cheapest way to get a dragon. But I was WRONG!!) That's it. Sorry for the poor quality again... Edited December 31, 2009 by Mörs Quote
Dragonator Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Hello again Mörs, I have once again changed your deeplinked images to standard links, as they are well over our maximum picture size limit of 800x600. Please resize these before putting the images back. Once again, I would suggest reading over the site guidelines on image sizes. Thanks, and please don't do this again. Quote
Mörs Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 Yes, yes, I was just going to do another review; I will have the pictures resized. Quote
Djole Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Not really a set to get in plenties, but I've always liked that minfig! I used to took those as a special order of knights in dark army, since we got plenty of them through the whole fk line, back there in 1997 it was pretty unexceptable for 11-years-old myself to have more than one lord I really did enjoy this line, and I still do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7csO7MEb1U Greetings from Serbia! supertoad64 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I know this set received a lot of derision for lacking any pieces besides the minifig and dragon, but it really was an excellent way to acquire those figs at a cheap price! I really love those old Lego dragons; too bad we never got them in any other colors. Quote

Big Cam Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 This would have been a great way to build an army of either dragons or knights. Quote
Mörs Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 I have to apologise: that isn't the cheapest way to get a dragon... THIS is: It's pretty much the same set (except you get Cedric the Bull, the leader of the barbarians), but it was even cheaper. I don't have it, though I remember it costing an equivalent of less than $3... Quote
Clone OPatra Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I really love those old Lego dragons; too bad we never got them in any other colors. They also came in green. The Fright Knights Witch's ballon set had a green one. About the set itself, well, I always thought Basil was so ugly looking under that helmet, and the dragons are only good as a display piece. You can't very well swoosh a dragon at somebody if it's standing on its hindquarters, that's like trying to make the playful Bellville puppy looking like it's running. I like later dragons much better, especially the Vikings ones. Quote
