Mörs Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 [Crappy_review] Theme: Castle Subtheme: Fright Knights Year released: 1997 Pieces: 56 Minifigs: 1 Price I got it for: an equivalent of about $8 http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/6037-1.jpg As you can see, it's a gondola for Willa the Witch transported by her dragon (she had a different dragon from the Batlord; his was black). Pretty ingenious an idea, if I do say so myself... Here's an overall view of the windship from a side: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Moers/Castle/100_0024.jpg I used a black dragon, 'cause I lost the green one a long time ago... There's actually a pretty stupid story to how I lost it, and since it's a part of this set, well: It was winter and one day it snowed so much, I decided take the dragon to my playground and play with it in the snow (yes, I know... I told you it's going to be stupid). I made a little cave out of snow for it, and put it inside. Then I left it there and went home... The next day almost all the snow was gone, and so was the dragon (someone stole it, obviously). But don't you think it actually looks better with the black dragon in place? Here's a close up of the gondola itself: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Moers/Castle/100_0023.jpg The witch also had a large broom (much better than the usual one from Town) but I lost it, too. Oh, and the magic wand looks so damaged because my cousin actually chew on it (Yes, I know... ). As you can see, the witch has a slope instead of legs. Here's a front view: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Moers/Castle/100_0025.jpg The twin halberds look very intimidating, don't you think? Overall, I think this windship makes for a pretty formidable enemy in a Castle war. Imagine it flying around, with the dragon toasting people around, and piercing with those halberds anyone foolish enough to dare come close to it (from the front). Design: 9/10 (Come on, a flying gondola carried by a dragon! Don't you dare tell me that's not original!) Playability: 6/10 (By itself, there's not much you can do with it, other than fly it around. But it has great playability when combined with other sets.) Pieces: 7/10 (Not really much pieces for a set of this size; the only really useful/rare ones are the dragon, the broom and the gondola.) supertoad64 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I had this one! It really is an interesting premise, just strangely executed (like most of the Fright Knights theme). Would've been cooler with a balloon up top, in my opinion. The color scheme is kinda ugly too. I really like the witch fig! It has many uses and was also the first (and only for quite some time) dress slope fig I had. Now I use that fig's body as an evil queen, and use the head for a short, hag-style witch. Quote
