Deinonychus Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Thought I'd take a crack at this vingette thing...since the little Cthulhu fig I cooked up was kind of drab on his own. They really need little crab LEGO pieces :^D Quote
Evil Willy Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 They have them..In red but they are like 12$ each on bricklink...Good job though man..Is there a story behind this? very good very good indeed! Quote
Athos Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Very cool and ominous... but I don't understand why you need crabs. Is the scene underwater? If so what's with the flames? Granted I'm not familiar with Lovecraft's mythology... Steve Quote

Cutty Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Hail Cthulhu Hail Cthulhu *wub* *wub* *wub* KimT[letting the few remaining sanitypoints drop below zero and goes into a frenzy] Awh! This is almost exactly what I had planned to build for a Cthulhu-idol once I get my collection into building-ready state... I must say:Given the natural choice of that one-piece octopus for 'Thulhu head has become a little stale now...however, nice scene. And as for that hailing thing, here is how to do it right: [chant repeatedly in a slow, semi-humming, guttural fashion. increase volume and frequency steadily] I'ah! I'ah! C'Thul'Hu F'Ta'Ghn! I'ah! I'ah! C'Thul'Hu F'Ta'Ghn! I'ah! I'ah! C'Thul'Hu F'Ta'Ghn! I'ah! I'ah! C'Thul'Hu F'Ta'Ghn! I'ah! I'ah! C'Thul'Hu F'Ta'Ghn! aso... [at the peak of the ceremony keep quiet as cthulhu's highest ranking servant recites the formula:] Phnglui mglwnafh Cthulhu Rlyeh wgahnagl fhtagn* which translates to: "In his house in R'Lyeh dead Cthulhu waits dreaming" *didn't know this line off my head so I c&p'ed it from another website...there are hundreds out there, google one up and get yourself info. [some descriptions of ceremonies feature the presence of Cthulhus descendants from planet xoth, or other creatures from the depths of space. human sacrifices are optional, though presumably common in areas of very low cultural and social level...] Praise the great old ones, for they were, are and forever will be! Cuttythulhu p.s.: does anyone here know, preferably someone who is into mathematics, if it is technically even possible to build with Lego following a non-euclidan geometry?! I don't come to understand the concept behind this... Quote
bigfatslob Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Frightenly complex and detailed, I love the excellent use of the octopus ! bfs Quote
