As a Costa Rican citizen I can assure that I'm not at war with anyone (and I'll never do), but if there is a Filibuster I will impale him :pirate_skel1: , and show him in the center of the square

- The Filibuster are even worst than pirates or corsairs, they don't have the Pirate code of conduct, or honor of the "parle", they are cowards, and even used for to torture or punishment is a waste of time... :pir_yoda::thumbdown:

about the other factions

-The French (bluecoats), Dutch and German helped Costa Rica to fight, and defeat, the filibusters, so, they are allied :bonaparte::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

-Costa Rica was an spanish colony, but we didn't have a war for independence (thanks to France take control over Spain), so we I'm fine with Spain (and of course with the Armada) :pir-devil::thumbup:

-Costa Rica are always had a good relationship with England (so, no problem with redcoats), even Lord Nelson was close from here :pir-angry::thumbup:

-with the natives, well, they are enemy of the spanish.... I'm not spanish, but I'm not a native too, so, I'm not bad with them, even, some time are allied :kahuka::thumbup:

-with the pirates, well, has always been said that the Coco Island (in the pacific) was a haven for pirates, and many pirates reached the caribean of Costa Rica without serious troubles :jollyroger::thumbup:

- And with the mermaids, I bet that there is a lot off in the Costa Rican waters!!! :pir-wub::thumbup:

hmmmm... have they decided to stop forcing all the kings ridiculous taxes onto the poor colonists?!

and what about the fact that they don't even give us fair representation in Parliament?

We aren't the kings property ya know!

Warning! History buff on a fact rampage.

I know, I used to think the same thing. Sadly that is what they teach in the school books, but really there are reasons for taxing the colonists.

1. The British had sent over troops to protect the colonists during the french and indian war, or as it is sometimes known as, the seven years war.

2. Because of this, the British were deep in debt, and needed the money.

3. The actual British people were being taxed way more than the colonists, so it actually seems a bit unfair to them.

4. When the British starting taxing the colonists, there was so much protest, that all taxes were repealed.

5. They weren't the "kings taxes", they were used to pay officials, the army, the navy, and other things that are needed to keep a country alive.

As for unfair representation, that is true, but there were thirteen colonies, so that would mean thirteen representatives, and they would probably never get along. There are also other various reasons that would take a long time to type up.

The actual people were not considerd the kings property, but the land in which was considered the colonies, was under the ownership of England, so you did have to pay taxes for it.

Hope this helps clear it up. :pir-sweet:
