DNL Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Here is this fifth and final stage of my project. The once strong castle of Hrothingas has fallen into decline. After the castle lost it's defensive function when gunpowder was invented it was deserted, and part of the walls were taken down to use the stone for something else. Now people have returned to the castle and have repaired part of it to make it livable again. The church has regained it's function and a small village is growing in an around the ruins. Here two different pictures showing the change through the ages: (click for a bigger version) All the pictures of all six stages Stage five on Brickshelf Stage five on Flickr Quote
Perterz Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I've missed stage 4, that's probably why I thought stage 5 would be glorious while that's stage 4 :D Anyway great ruins, looks really good with all those cracks in the wall! On to the future :D Nice additional photo's, all stages next to each other look pretty impressive! All hail Photoshop. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 That's again an absolutely awesome Castle MOC, DNL! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic and the architecture and the details are stunning! The most I like the overgrowth with the many, well-designed and colorful trees, flowers and ivy! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter Quote
I Scream Clone Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Well to me you have finished on a high note! this is my absolute favourite of the whole series, of which I have thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you so much for investing all this time in what has been a fabulous series. Well done and something you should always treasure. Quote
BlueBard Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 As the rest of your Castle evolutions this is a wonderfully achieved MOC, DNL! You did a great and pretty original project, BRAVO! Quote
L-space Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Outstanding work again. Great to see all the details in a ruin. Allthough not chrono-logic but building-logic still a fantastic end to the evolution. *tips hat and leaves via side entrance* Quote
mrts Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 (edited) Heey DNL! I have followed all stages of this moc and they were all awesome! I think its very original to do something like this. Very original idea and brilliandt execution! Edited July 23, 2009 by mrts Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 What a great building project! All the stages are very expertly contructed. You obviously put in a lot of time and effort and it really has shown with the results and how everyone has felt about this project! Once again great job! Quote
Quarryman Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 An absolutely stunning conclusion to an amazing series, it's been great following the progress of this project from it's beginning, easily my favourite MOC series in 2009. Quote

Sir Dillon Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Well done! The extra mottling with all the greenery weathers the structure nicely. This was a great project, and some of the best castle builds I've seen. Excellent work. Quote
castlestrike666 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 My personal congratulations, Daniel! In my opinion one of the best looking castles I've seen. I really love the way you use the environmental objects in your castle, and let it all grow a natural and realistic way. Due to the fact I also attach the utmost importance to greenery and natural objects in moc's, it's one of my favourite creations until now, and I've seen a lot! Keep on building mate! Cuz it's a pleasure to look at! Quote
Alex the Great Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Well done DNL! I really enjoyed seeing all the creations, they were really great. You should be proud that you followed through to the end of the project, not many are able to do so, kudos! Quote
