I Scream Clone Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Hi EBers Here is my entry on Classic Castles Hidden Fortress section. The Orc's have a hidden cave hideout which can only be accessed by damming the waterfall for a short period of time. On this occasion the Orc's have ambushed a small group of Crownies, taking them completely by surprise! Enjoy I can only post 3 pics so any help on choosing is appreciated. Cheers ISC Brickshelf Quote
Hewman Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Photos 1,2,4 and 7 are the ones that show it off best for me. 1 gives a nice overall feel, 2 shows the beautiful curvature of the waterfall as well as a nice view of the rocks, 4 the close-up of the inside really makes me feel like the orcs are marching in with purpose and 7 I just love the look on the crownie's face and the image of the fallen treasure chest. Good luck and let us know how you go. Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 2, 5, and 6 are the ones I like. Maybe retake a nice overview from the outside, but give it a downwards angle. This way, it would give a great overview of the entire front of the MOC, but also by aiming down, the viewer/observer can view the sweet bends of the top of the waterfall. If that doesn't make sense, I'm sorry, I need to go to bed, so my editing skills are gone. Really well done though. No need to make a door, you got one from nature. Nice job with the landscaping. Maybe if I throw my camera at the wall a few times, I might be able to take pictures like you? My camera drives me nuts! Quote
Tacitus Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Great creation. I didn't expect there to be an interior to the mountain, so that was a fun surprise...and I didn't expect a modular piece of SNOT for a waterfall. Pretty cool. I should also add that I like the bridge you created, too. Quote
Fordo Jumping Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 really a surprising idea!! I bet all the soldiers will be frightened and run away right now... perfect scene, and really fascinating! the inner cave is impressive and the jail for humans is great Quote
Athos Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Very cool creation. Where did you get those gold accessories? I'd go with pictures: 1, 5 and 6. Steve Quote
SWMAN Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 That is a really cool MOC. I really like the idea of a hidden base in the rocks that can only be accessed through the waterfall. Quote
I Scream Clone Posted December 4, 2008 Author Posted December 4, 2008 Thanks for the nice comments I forgot to take a shot of the modular roof with the trees taken off. Very cool creation.Where did you get those gold accessories? I'd go with pictures: 1, 5 and 6. Steve The gold weapons are Brickarms I believe. They were a gift from a trade I did. Not sure if they are current stock or prototypes If Enigma is around Im sure he will know. Quote
Zepher Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 It is, of course, a non-orginal idea, but the build makes up for that. The idea of the dam at the top is new though, I think. Very well done. I also like the curve in the waterfall. I think 2, 5 and 6 show all the ideas of the MOC the best (one of an overview wit waterfall, one without, and one of the whole inside! Quote
Thrash Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 (edited) Great job ISC. It was a great idea and you built it really well. My favorite thing about it is how the waterfall and everything is slanted. Now get back to working on some modules for the EBCCB! The gold weapons are Brickarms I believe. They were a gift from a trade I did. Not sure if they are current stock or prototypes If Enigma is around Im sure he will know. The gold weapons are actually the brickforge spiked mace and trident. Oh, and I think that 1, 5, and 6 are the best pictures. ~Thrash Edited December 4, 2008 by Thrash Quote
Natman8000 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I really like the hidden base in the waterfall idea, but otherwise the MOC is very typical. Quote
gogobig Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Your MOC is very interesting and detailed. I liked how you made the water curve at one point, I believe that was in picture number 2. The picture where the orcs are coming out is fantastic, as well as the guy running away. My scoring for your MOC: Creativity: 10/10 - fantasic overall. I love the waterfalls, samll bidge, the idea of waterfall as a gate and orc cave Detail:10/10 -Not to bulky, yet very nice, stylish lego "woods" atmosphere Playability:10/10 Originality: 10/10 Overal: Perfect Quote

I Scream Clone Posted December 5, 2008 Author Posted December 5, 2008 Thanks for the clarification Thrash Cheers for all the nice comments too I ended up posting 2,5, and 6 and Im pretty happy with those. Apparently I may not be able to move figs between photos which will kind of ruin the surprise effect, oh well will see. Quote
NewRight Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Great work on a fantastic entry into CCC. The crooked waterfall is wonderfully done. A great MOC all around. Quote
