Guss Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 ahah, really funny and very well done Slyowl ! I prefer this version way more than the Potter's one that's amazing how you made it in mid air!!! Quote
Dan Church Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Sweet, I'm not a big harry potter fan, but this is amazing! soooo much action going on. Great MOC Quote
Dwarvenlord Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 LOL. I love this! Great details and nice build towers and landscape! Quote

Asuka Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 A wonderful detailed and colorful work with a lot of sweet and funny details! Quote
Mr.Brick Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 (edited) I like the snitch most of everything! It's amazing, why didn't LEGO use the shoulder-things as wings?! Anyhow, great set and nice Harry Potter spinoff! edit: oh, there's so much detail I've missed the bludger coming through the tower: very funny. Is it the "Queerditch" by the way (=> the swamp where, according to JKR, quidditch origined) or is it just a funny coincidience? Edited November 17, 2008 by Mr.Brick Quote
Matn Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 That's really a fantastic creation, it's genious! Good work, Slyowl. I really like it, I am a Harry Potter fan, so it's not strange I like it. It's full of details and great techniques, it's just wonderful. Can't think of anything bad on this great creation. I just like it very much. Oh... Quote
Fordo Jumping Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 perfect scene...! Quidditche lol.... many details to describe I wonder the monster... is it playing too?? Quote
Oky Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 (edited) A castle-fied Harry Potter MOC, eh? Interesting... The title of this MOC should have been "What happens when Knights get into the witch's broom closet". Very well done! I am amazed by the amount of detail, and there are some pretty nifty techniques used here! I especially like how that black ball (forgot what they are called now ) breaks through the tribune/tower and zooms over the lake, knocking over one of the guards! The only thing that kinda bothers me is the "earth" - it looks more like a pile of wooden planks than anything else. Perhaps that could be improved on. Keep up the good work! I Scream Clone Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Very nice indeed Slyowl! Good to see a use for all the blue, red and yellow bricks too. Good action, including airborne figures. Could you tell me what the hoop pieces are/from? on the quidditch poles that is. Cheers and GL Quote
Jamit Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 (edited) Hmm.....just a test....how bizzare....I am logged in as Jamit.... ..... Edited November 19, 2008 by Jamit Quote
SlyOwl Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 Thankee all! Is it the "Queerditch" by the way (=> the swamp where, according to JKR, quidditch origined) or is it just a funny coincidience? It was in my head as I built it, and I had intended it to be in a marsh when I formed the concept a while back. The far right corner (which I built last) was a bit more "civilised" than I'd intended, but I guess it doesn't matter. The final picture in my mind before I started building was the scene from the beginning of Great Expectations. I wonder the monster...is it playing too?? Kinda - Clancy play! More like King-Kong, with the bi-planes replaced with flying Crownies. The only thing that kinda bothers me is the "earth" - it looks more like a pile of wooden planks than anything else. Perhaps that could be improved on. Mmm... I agree, but I don't really know any other "wet mud" techniques which look good in mounds (it looks better when as riverbanks/pond edges, but not so good as small islands). I'll work on it Could you tell me what the hoop pieces are/from? on the quidditch poles that is. They're tyres. I only had 5, so that's why the skeletons are a hoop down - or they cheat Hmm.....just a test....how bizzare....I am logged in as Jamit.... ..... You're not James? Quote
Erdbeereis Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Beautiful work SlyOwl! I love the "snitch" but how does it stay on the epaulette and what color is that? Your tents are so nice and colorful, plus they have nice shape. Great MOC! Quote
SlyOwl Posted November 24, 2008 Author Posted November 24, 2008 Danke! Beautiful work SlyOwl!I love the "snitch" but how does it stay on the epaulette and what color is that? Your tents are so nice and colorful, plus they have nice shape. Great MOC! It's a yellow stud painted gold (I don't have any official ones), but it didn't quite work out The soldier's hand going through the epaulette holds the stud in place. Quote
Derek Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 VERY cool! I love this, it has such cool little details. I Love the Snitch! Quote
