Just something I've been meaning to do for a while. Click on each picture for more.

The Sentinel (below) has now been revised as a studless model. Probably the easiest one to do, the Sentinel only had about 6 studs showing in the first place! Of course given such a small model, I had to be careful with my piece substitution in case I destabilise the whole build.

I had a bit of a debate with myself as to whether or not to make the passenger/freight area of the Vigil (below) studless, but went with it anyway.

To be honest, the Infiltrator (below) does need some serious reworking, but I've made it studless for now anyway - this was the hardest to do and I'm not 100% happy with the overall result, but on the basis that it needs extra work anyway, it'll do for now.

The Triumph (below) was an easy one to modify, with just the side armour being the major issue - although keen LAV spotters will note that the 8x1 bricks below the guns have been swapped for 2 8x1 plates topped off with one 8x1 tile. Smoo-ooth...

The Aggressor (below) took a lot of tiles to convert but the results are very nice, especially at the rear which has been modified slightly to accommodate the extra pieces. I particularly like the new side armour.

The Vindicator (below) was 90% studless already, just the side armour needed doing - and now it is perfect!

MMM, I smell ultra-destructive weaponry. :sweet:

These models are all great! I must confess that I have no idea what the originals looked like, but I'm sure they were still great. However, the fact that you've managed to make every model COMPLETELY studless is quite impressive - you don't see something like that every day.

Keep on trucking, even if I don't totally agree with your military campaign.

Dr S., I liked your models they way they were. Your models are somewhat cartoonish. As you know I don't mean that in a bad way -it's actually part of what I like about them. They're still fine now, but I am afraid I don't really see the point in making them studless :sceptic: . Perhaps if you were going for ultra-realism it would make some sense, although I don't mind seeing studs even on realistic models. They're made out of Lego after all and even for your new studless vehicles that's obvious. Did you cave in under pressure from silly teenagers who told you that studless is the way forward  ?

Cheers,

Ralph

No, although Peter Reid had a big hand in persuading me. :classic:

Actually, they were kind of in-between, large areas were studless, and then the side panels weren't - so I decided to jump one way rather than leave them as they were. That was it really.

I respect your choice. Of course, Pete's like a silly teenager too:wink:
