LuxorV Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Hi all, here you can see my first Black Fantasy creation: (pic links to the gallery) It's a sort of tank with an insectile-like shape, that carries the infection and tries to infect (or feed on) all other mechanical and bio-mechanical things it encounters. On the tail, you can see the spores it carries to spread the infection. The two beaks on the 'arms' also are used to infect its preys. Moreover, the right arm transformed in a second head, independent from the central insectile-eyed round head. The basic design of the wings is quite obviously taken from the fire-fly in EF set 8117, Storm Lasher. COmments and criticisms are welcome :-) . LuxorV Quote
Shadows Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 I don't really "get" the Black Fantasy theme, but I do know well-built when I see it, and this clearly is. Good job! Is neon orange a traditional element, or could that be neon green? Not sure why, but for some reason, it seems that green would be more pseudo-organic to me. I'm trying to understand the theme, it just isn't clicking. That said, please share any further creations with us. I like what I see looking at it in terms of alien military machinery, something designed by a distant race to emulate things from their own world, so maybe I'll eventually grasp the Black Fantasy part. I believe trans orange is necessary to build an black fantasy moc, but I'm not sure. I think it all comes from a contest over on Classic Space which was made by a member named Nannan. The neon-orange is the 'official' color for this kind of MOCs, as stated by Nannan (thanks, Plural, for the precise reference). I too thought neon-green could look better, but I kept to the original guidelines (and just think that I used almost all my neon-orange pieces in this, while I have lots of neon-green |-/ ). Maybe, next time (if there will be a next time) I'd do something with neon-green, like a Black-greenish Fantasy :-D . LuxorV Quote

The treads are great (off the Hybrid Rescue Tank yes?) and I adore it's face. I would have loved to see this in Nannan's competition, though I believe the rules were far too strict on the levels of black and orange that were to be maintained. My first idea was to build an insect like thing, with thin legs like a spiedr or something. Later on, I opened my box and saw those treads (which come from the 2006 Hero Tank, btw) and I just had to use them :-$ . Unfortunately, I didn't know about the Black Fantasy contest at the time it was running, I dicovered it later :-/ . But the concept was too intriguing to let it pass without trying a MOC. As for another creation, who knows, I may build something sooner or later ;-) . LuxorV Quote
