Capn Frank Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 I was curious if using the same roof technique as my Cartographer Vig would look good for an entire building. I only had enough black slopes, but I thing you can see the detail well enough. The Captain of the Little Fishin Boat had an excellent trade run last month, and was able to afford himself a nice house. Quote
LittleJohn Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Very nice little house, I like the tall sloping roof The well, garden, and road are all great too Quote
blackdeathgr Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Hmmm, not bad. Not bad at all!! I like the roof and the top red railing matches perfectly! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Good use of the offset slope roof design. The well makes good use of technic elements and the woodpile is a nice touch too Quote
Kwatchi Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Considering my initial reaction was 'that's a great roof design', and then I read your notes expressing your doubts on it, I think you succeeded in pulling my it off Phred. It matches the historic aesthetic really nicely. I also noticed how you built the house slightly off center. Nice touch! Only thing I would have liked to see is window sills on the first floor to break up the flat white wall a bit. Great job! Quote
TitusV Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Nice build, I think the roof turned out quite well! Quote
Captain Genaro Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Nicely done. The roof certainly looks very Oleandish, and you included plenty of details I'd expect to see at a small country home (farm, boy chopping wood, well, etc.). Nice job with the uneven, rocky road. Quote
Capt Wolf Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Great job using the roof technique on a full structure. It works well! And it's an appealing residence for your captain. My favorite grounds detail is the vegetable garden. Quote
Bregir Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Nice little house, Phred. I think the overhang with this roof technique makes it look a bit top heavy, but other than that, it works rather well. Perhaps doing away with the overhang, or making the ground floor higher, would help. And on a larger building I think it will look great! The highlight of the build is the grounds, though. I really like the little vegetable plot and the road. Good to see someone using the Ile de Romantica licenses. Quote
