MacKaiwer Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 This was just a rapid idea from out of nowhere... Maybe this is not a winner but it was just pure fun to build A bulldozer based machine to lift, carry and put the pipe to its' place. Design is my own as you can see but those machines are very real from Liebherr, Cat and many other manufactures. Pipe lifted up, boom in highest position: Boom lowered: Backside, boom in highest position, pipe lowered: Massive counterweight: Really fast build, keeping it simple and no power functions, just manual winch and manual lockable boom positions. Normal battery box just as a counterweight, no electricity in this one Quote
MacKaiwer Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 oh nice bro! Thanks heovang! Now I just have to make some time to shoot video for the contest entry... I have already a idea to present a work situation in my entry video, maybe tomorrow or at weekend it'll be ready... Quote
Milan Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 This is somewhat "grey area" entry. It is ok to enter, but fact remains that this is a striped bulldozer, with added simple crane and counterweight. Idea is nice and different from the others. Will you try to match colors at the counterweight? Maybe all black counterweight would look good. Quote

You are absolutely right, it is little bit "grey area" build, I know, though its' purpose with these equipments is lifting. It's nice to hear that I can enter with it Thank you Milan, I think too that it is different direction thinking to approach this contest. Sadly I don't have any spare/loose beams to match colors at the counterweight, black would be really nice but at this moment and so little time left I don't think it is possible to me to do that Edit: Wait a minute, I have unopened set 42009, so maybe I can make black counterweight after all... Now just decision do I want to open 42009 at this time, for this contest, hmmm... Edited October 29, 2015 by MacKaiwer Quote
Sylvian Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 If it cranes like a crane.... j/k its ment to lift and hoist though... still pretty specific for pipes.. anyways i still like it! And personally i think it fits into the competition.. Quote

I'm doing these weird MOCs of mine just for fun and in the skill limits that I have (not very talented builder but I use my imagination and try hard to make them work). Just maybe year or even under time ago I had never even touch a Lego Technic part in my life but when you got under its' spell you are lost forever and that's very nice and fun thing. So what I'm trying to say, I don't take these contests so seriously for the success or winning, just want to learn things and have fun And of course be amazed by all those very talented competitors and their mindblowing masterpieces As in every TCs opening words says, in the end these contests are for having fun!
