I Scream Clone Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Eurobricks and Rebrickable were challenged by LEGO to make alternate models for current year city sets. The builds had to only use the pieces available in the official LEGO model, be made in LDD, digitized, tested in real brick and be a model a 7-10 year old could build!! My set was the 60003 Fire Emergency. Not sure if mine could be built by a 7-10 year old, though it think my 9 yr old could give it a good try. Needless to say I enjoyed the experience in building a Fire jet/spaceship. plastic_ati Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I got the same set, and it was a real challenge for me to build something City-compatible, as I rarely buy and build City-themed sets/MOCs. My first try was a relatively large pickup, built on a similar base as the fire truck in the set, but with a different shape, and a bit unorthodox roof, along with some log-carrying capability. (You can check it on my Rebrickable MOC-page) 1. alternate: Red Pickup Truck This was good for warmup, and I went on to make my main idea to make something that resembles the old Town/Paradisa things. I don't know how well I succeed but I liked to make it. (You can check this other one on this Rebrickable MOC-page) 2. alternate: Tavern for the Fiery Oven Quote
LegoJalex Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 @I Scream Clone @plastic_ati Really nice models! Mine was also set 60003. A great set to build alternative models of, since it had not too many, and not too few pieces. The lack of 1x1 bricks and the limited color palette made it more difficult. Fritzy Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 (edited) The Flameship is a great idea and well-executed. Looking at all these entries has been nothing short of inspiring. Thank you for sharing your clever solutions! Edited October 2, 2014 by Fritzy Quote
kinggregus Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 That research station is better than the orignal set. Amazing! Quote
