also, i hope you enjoyed my new format for posting MOCs... i've borrowed the introduction and "features" framework from LEGO shop@home.

it's not so wordy and lets the pictures do the talking ;-)

Ahhhhhhh splendor of a Brick Miner MOC....

If The LEGO Group were looking for a designer to design new Wild West sets you'd have to top the list - Legorado Station is almost too good not to be an official set! Its so superb I'm rendered speechless. I'll have to come back later when I'm not so awestruck...

Ah, you finally got around to editing and posting these. That's the one biggest thing Lego missed out on with the Western line - a western train. *wub* I like the locomotive, but I feel there's too much space in the middle around bottom between the sets of wheels. I'm not usually a fan for custom stickers either, but I realy like how you incorporated the the town train symbols into the decorations on the side. :-P

The sides of the horse car are pefect, but the ends seem too cluttered. And tile the 'hole' in the horses. ;-)

yes, i really like using existing LEGO inconography... im trying everthing i know to make these MOC look like an offical LEGO set. i even tried to "westernize" engineer max and conductor charley with a custom torso :-D i wasn't really happy with the result though, as the conductor charley face doesn't seem too "western" to me.

oh well, it was a neat concept that really just didn't work in the end.

however, i am currently adapting the LEGO post office symbol into a LEGOREDO post office/pony express MOC. that, on the other hand, is working out quite well, as the symbol is a french horn/bugle thing... and a bugle is one of the elements LEGO used for their calvary.

...And tile the 'hole' in the horses. ;-)
now a '96 LEGO wouldn't have done that :-P :-D

Yeah, it's funny and very pratical. Although I'm not sure what you mean by 'charely face' (sic?)...

A '96 Lego would not have used dark orange. ;-) :-D

BM: this is by far, your best MOC. If it were an actual Lego set, I'd snatch it up in a minute. I'm really impressed.

Let me make a few comments starting with the station. When you first showed me the white arch pieces, I was not sure how they would look. I absolutely love them. It's an excellent addition to the WW architecture. I've also used the design of the steps on the side of the building before and it works very nicely with WW sets. I picked the idea up from Playmobil WW sets. The red roof and Legorado Station sign looks just like Fort Legorado. The roof works well. I'm not sure about the use of the grey fence pieces under the windows, but they do add an elemt of design. I love the custom map piece inside. Nice touch.

In regard to the train, it's super. I'm most impressed with the engine, esp. how you did the front end. I've tried to capture the slanted front piece from old steam engines before, and could never make anything work. Nice job. My only suggestion would be to fill in the middle under-carriage of the train (between the wheels). It looks a little empty/unfinished. The back roof overhang is excellent.

I like the red carriage car, and the cattle wagon. I like the caboose because it's little (like an old WW caboose should be). The use of the yellow works well with both the red cars. The log car looks a lot like the actual Lego MOT log car.

As always, your figs are top notch. Great design of the torsos and choice of faces. I esp. like the outlaw dressed in the brown suit (great face), and the girl (she'd win one of the Lego pagents ;-) ).

The wagon is my least favoriyte of the set, but not bad.

Overall, as I said above, this is your best MOC and with the addition of the wonderful WW graphics, excellent presentation.

PS. I love how you made the blue window decals for the station. It looks just like something Lego would offer. Sweet!

Right now I wish very strong that those Western sets weren

i agree, B. actually i feel like i've had something of a epiphany :-D but seriously, i have actually gone back a reworked all my previous MOCs to match the scale and feel of this. i realized that overall, my scale was too large, and too open. all three of my previous MOCs fall victim to this :-/
I've also used the design of the steps on the side of the building before and it works very nicely with WW sets. I picked the idea up from Playmobil WW sets.
yes. actually, my station's design is based off a playmobil design... i never would have been open to using them as reference, if it weren't for you. so thanks for opening me up to the world of playmobil, B !!!

and thanks to everyone for all the feedback !!!

so far, im hearing that the underside of the train could have used some more work. noted !!!

Beautiful. This would be a perfect set for WW if the theme ever came back! Awsome job.

And I see that you have water slide decals now(?). Or another form of decaling on the lego pieces!

Absolutely stunning! I missed the entire WW series during my dark ages, and even if this was the only set I could ever get for the theme, I'd buy it in an instant. *y*

What can I said that have not already been said...

The artwork of your pics is just perfect, I didn't expected less from you.

I have to say that I didn't buy any of the WW sets. Not that I don't like them, but I was too young to buy all the sets I wanted. And one of my friend collected them, so I discovered the theme with him, he let me building those sets and playing with them. It was a "by proxy" theme for me. And know, I regret not having some sets of this line. This friend is always mine, but he is not decided to give me his collection to shwo me its friendship!

Back on your moc BM! This set has a really LEGO touch, so I will not be astonnished to see this set on shelves.

I really like all the details you put on this moc, with all the different parts that add a lot of playability.

In the trainstation, the white arches give a nice "metallic structure" touch. So maybe a white stair will be better, maybe...

The figs selection are really good, with nice custom torsos.

The train is nice too, maybe the space between the two bogies is too empty, like others said. And maybe some stickers on the side of the cylinder part of the train will be good (with the same style of the stickers which can be found in the My own train locos).

The other wagons are very good as well. I like how you have integrated the city train logo! And the colour sheme is really nice!

And the pony car is quite simple but it's a nice addition.

So all the elements give this moc its general LEGO feeling!

I confirm, it's a really good moc, just keep this track for your next creation!

And you are not as different as city fan, you try to make some buildings that are needed in the human society. Just the architecture and the design change...

yes, it so very true alex !!! im building LEGOREDO just as a town/city fan would build their modern town/city !!!

right now, in my layout, i have my custom train station and saloon, and the official sets: sheriff office, general store, and bank (im also finishing a post office MOC too)... so that makes a total of 6 structures in LEGOREDO. add the train, and various carriages and wagons, and i've got my own city/town collection !!! just in a different time period ;-)

i remember your "city layout growth" thread, alex... the map really inspired me, and the progression of the city, as it was built, did too. after seeing that, i decided i wanted to do the same with LEGOREDO, and that is what im doing !!! consequently, though, my ghost town has been destroyed :-D as my main focus is LEGOREDO now.

in any case, someday i'll share my city layout and growth, very similar to your thread... and i'd love to make a LEGOREDO map, similar to your city map.

very neat, graphic, and inspirational, alex *y* *y* *y*
