BlueBard Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 It has maybe already been requested or posted but does someone have or knows where can I have a City/Town Lego Background? I don't mean a background of a city made of lego but the kind of background they use to put in the catalogues or in the top of this forum. I think it would be quite useful for many people for presenting their MOCs Thanks! Quote

Google Image Search could be your friend in this. ;D Quote

BerndDasBrot Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 (edited) is this what you're searching for? unfortunately the pic is too big for embedding. I made it today in a hurry. Mabey there're more to come. Edited July 19, 2008 by BerndDasBrot Quote
Tenorikuma Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 is this what you're searching for?unfortunately the pic is too big for embedding. I made it today in a hurry. Mabey there're more to come. That looks like a really good start. I would blur the foreground colours more, and perhaps the distant silhouette as well. I plan on making generic Lego-packaging-style backgrounds myself whenever I get a MOC finished. Quote
BerndDasBrot Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 thanks for your feedback. My starting pic was the background from 6399 which is a very big set and so they nearly did without any blur. unfortunately there's also a lot of lost information for 6399 blankets the background. I'm looking forward to see some of your LEGO-style backgrounds! Quote

Hope you could do a skyline background Quote
Tenorikuma Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 The site's in Japanese, but this guy uses Lego-box-style graphics for his backgrounds too. Quote
BlueBard Posted August 6, 2008 Author Posted August 6, 2008 Looking at old topics posted I realized KhoRne used a lovely city background for his Impulse Set Contest entry: Has somebody something similar? (Maybe BerndDasBrot could create one? ) It would be helpful for Town MOC shots presentations as that japanese guy does with his Castle ones, wouldn't it? I'm afraid I'm a disaster with images editors but I badly need a background for the MOC I'm preparing now and also for a comic I'm planning to do Thank you very much, everybody! Quote
Brick n Brick Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 I'm in much need of one too. It would be really great to find out where KhoRne got his from. Quote
BlueBard Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 After seeing the impossibility for having an "official" Town Background for my MOCs (I suppose TLC hiddes it for "security" reasons ) I'm trying to use "real" lego city backgrounds now, I mean picking Lego cities images from the web and putting them "cunningly" (hope the owners will never recognize them! ) as a background. You could see the final result in the comic I'm preparing Quote
BerndDasBrot Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 don't forget to use a little blur and give credits. Quote

Wow, that is really slick. I'd love to see any more backgrounds you come up with. I could use something like this for my own comics. I typically just use a simple light blue gradient to represent the sky. Quote
BerndDasBrot Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 right now, I'm not continuing this work, but if you'd be happy with a svg-file, you can match it to your needs! Quote
Badsneaker Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 They have some on the LEGO US website under "play". Quote
