damian Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Hi, I am new here but please enjoy my first MOC:) Medieval House: Quote
Zeya Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Uh oh. You have the same thread title as this thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=46473 Very cool MOC though. Quote
BrickArtist Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Wow very impressive! This reminds me of Derfel Cardarns "ye old forge" (which is a compliment ) Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Wow, very impressive work for your first MOC! I love the design of the house, very medieval-looking indeed. The surrounding lush vegetation is a nice accent to the whole creation. Great job damian! Quote
Uvga Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Wow, excellent ! I loved a lot the house . Quote
I Scream Clone Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Welcome to Eurobricks and what a great introduction. A really nicely built house, and at a guess I would say it might be in CCCVIII. Great job. Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Wow very impressive! This reminds me of Derfel Cardarns "ye old forge" (which is a compliment ) Exactly what I thought And that's something to be proud of. You used a lot of plants, which gives it a very realistic feeling. The house is also great, with a nice protruding part in it. Good job, and welcome to Eurobricks! Quote
damian Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 thanks!. I saw "ye old forge" in homepage and this MOC was my inspiration for medieval theme with nice vegetation. My next project will be a small castle:) Quote
buddy Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 A very good, realistic-looking and highly detailed MOC! Very well done. ~buddy~ Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 That looks great! I like the three kinds of architecture used in the building. Stone, plaster and wood. The surroundings are very nice but I think the bridge could use some work. Congratulations with your MOC, it's awesome. Quote
Derfel Cadarn Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Thats what I like to see, lots of vegetation Thats a nice little country scene you have built there I like the fact that you have added the room that overhangs, it gives the house a more interesting shape. A very good try for your first moc! Keep it up Quote
the Inventor Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Outstanding work damian. It's a real beauty, I really like your medieval house the colors look vey nice. I really like the overhang in your house. Also the foliage arround the house looks well done and it gives this moc more life. I would love to see some more picture from different angles. the Inventor Quote
Milan Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 The house is beautiful. Very nice details and greenery around it is very good, too! Quote
mobricki Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 This is an impressive moc I like the scenery a lot. Please share more of your mocs with us. Quote
NovaStar Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Oh I love the use of vegetation - makes it so much more realistic. Really nice MOC - the overhang gives the house character Quote
blueandwhite Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Great work. As others have said, it does look quite a bit like one of Derfel Cardarn's MOCs and that's nothing to sneeze at! Generally speaking this MOC is lovely. Everything from the vegetation to the large cottage work well together. MOC's like this one are very hard to critique as they are extremely well done. I really look forward to seeing you mature as a builder and develop your own unique style. Your early work is already top-notch so I think it's safe to say that we can expect great things in the future. Quote
wylun Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 wow that is nice! can the house open up? or is it just a shell? either way, awesome job! Quote
damian Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 wow that is nice! can the house open up? or is it just a shell? either way, awesome job! the house don't have interiors - only wooden floor:) and no pictures to show this:)) Quote
KristofBD Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Good job! This MOC looks like the work of an expert builder. I like the shape of the house and the creative use of the bricks. I also like the scenery and the fact that it shows a little scene (not just a house). Great work! Quote
Geertos13 Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 This creation is O-U-S-T-A-N-DI-N-G ! For me, this has to be one of the best MOC's in Medieval History ! Most of the time, I try to balance my reviews with good and bad points. I guess this time, it's going to be impossible. Let's start with the garden. The ground is made of a quite simpel design, but the use of SO MANY greenery, flowers and green pieces make the hole thing have an amazing look. It looks a bit Wild, but not in a jungle way. It looks natural. So many plants look very "over-the-top" most of the time, but you succeeded in making it seem beautifull. The river with dark blue is again, so simpel, but so absolutely Magnificent ! The cows and the little Dock, along with the stone bridge, adds beauty to this magnificent garden. The Building itself, is AMAZING ! And it's probably why I thought this building was O-U-T-S-T-A-N-D-I-N-G,instead of G-R-E-A-T or A-W-E-S-O-M-E. The design of the buttom walls, mixing the light grey with the Dark Grey tiles on them was a great idea and turns out very medieval and sweet. The Brown wooden Pillars at both sides of the door and at the sides add something realistic to the hole thing, once again, the design is fantastic. These pillars are holding an even prettier Second floor. The white walls, combined with some wooden tiles, put on the sides and hanging from left to right crossing the upper part of the walls, are used frequently and always turn out nice, This building is no exeption. At last, but not the least is the third floor and the roof ! Using these brown curved bricks for the wood, is a technic I personally use too. Of course, It is amazing. I'm in LOVE with that roof and I only can say it is a simpel design, that looks great. The cheminey is the final touch, that makes this House fit in perfectly in a typical Medieval Village. Your attention to detail and your architectoral skills, have made you one of my favourite builders. And I have only seen ONE of your creation. I hope to see more from you soon Enjoy your time here On Eurobricks and keep Building ! TEN OUTTA TEN !! 10/10 CONGRATULATIONS Quote
