frogstudio Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 (edited) Hi to all!!! Considering the new Hazmat guy in the CM Series 4, I decided to get him proper transport. This is a MOC I'm working on (still on digital format) and I though I should post it and share it. I'm eager to hear comments, before I order the actual pieces, so that when built, this one turns out really beautifull. Most pieces will be coming from set 7991, and my idea is to keep extra pieces as low as possible, so please consider this when suggesting. Printings will be made with waterslide decals. Waiting for comments, and thanks for watching!!!! :) I've made some changes to the model and stickers. Also, I've added the tools rach and a radiation detection robot... so here are the updates... Enjoy!!! :) Edited March 13, 2011 by frogstudio Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I like it, a fusion of 2005 fire truck and 2007 refuse truck with the new west coast style truck mirrors. Don't forget the tools and digging equipment too plus that portable shower unit for after the job is done. Please brick-build this, oh, do you mind if I copy this for my son for when he gets that collectable figure. Great LDDing 'frogstudio' and Brick On ! Quote

I've still got to design all the equipment accesories which will go inside. There's no problem if you want to use it. As soon as I've got the stickers design, I'll also share them here (will be making two sets of them, one transparent for those who use waterslide and one in orange for those who use stickers, so, if anyone can provide the exact CMYK values for LEGO orange, I'll be grateful)... Cheers from down south!!! Quote
Flare Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Awesome work, I'd love to see this in real bricks Quote
CptMugwash Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 That's really cool, you should put the hazmat guy next to the truck, it definately looks the part, spotty dog! Quote
KartoffelViking Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 That looks fantastic, frogstudio! I want to build one too, for when I get a whole team of hazmat guys The vehicle looks really stylish, but my gut feeling says it should have more lights on the roof. But I have no idea if it will look good or not. Great work Quote
Dark Knight Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Wow! Very cool! All prepared for the Minifig Series 4 Hazmat man to come! Quote
seba Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 This is really cool, but is that sticker in the front upside down? Quote
RubeusHagrid Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 FANTASTIC! What program did you use to build it? Quote
cimddwc Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Really nice! Maybe add some rotating spotlight (like on some police car sets) on the roof? This is really cool, but is that sticker in the front upside down? I'd say it's mirrored so you can read it in your rearview mirror when it's driving behind you. :) Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Great Truck I actually was just building one of these on LDD last night! Quote
gcanik Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Very nicely done, an excellent way to display the Hazmat series 4 figure. But like a previous poster mentioned, I think you need to include a red and blue light bar on top somewhere but I could also see that combination of colors contrasting a bit to much with the orange color scheme. Maybe something to play around with in the design. None the less awesome job! Quote
frogstudio Posted March 12, 2011 Author Posted March 12, 2011 Thanks all for the comments!!! It's still a work in progress, so, when I've got the final version, I'll re-post. About top lights, I too agrre blue and red would step out of the colour scheme... I guess they'll end being trans orange.. :) FANTASTIC! What program did you use to build it? The model was built in LeoCad, the exported as 3ds and importered into 3D Max, where it was rendered... Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Very well done digital truck design frogstudio! This one really fits the upcoming Hazmat minifig perfectly well, from the color scheme to the simple but effective design of this truck. Love that mirror image text in the front. Great job! Quote
dr_spock Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Nice truck. Is it for a nuclear response unit? Quote
frogstudio Posted March 13, 2011 Author Posted March 13, 2011 Nice truck. Is it for a nuclear response unit? Yep, it is... preparing for CM Series 4 Hazmzt minifig... :) Quote
slacker int Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Looking really good frogstudio. I can see this fitting in nicely with the current lego city offerings. Only suggestions i have would be to include some extra minor details: Perhaps some pylons / traffic cones or some type of road barricades that could be stored in the truck? Also maybe add some antennas or some form of ariels? Try adding some telescopic lights that can be raised to provide additional light? And maybe try including a hose reel somewhere? hope to see it in real bricks cheers, adam Quote
AllanSmith Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 if anyone can provide the exact CMYK values for LEGO orange, I'll be grateful)... Cheers from down south!!! Found this chart on Brickshelf with CMYK values: Colour chart Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Great cad-work! That new minifigures fit perfectly in the scene! I like the X-Ray logo on the truck ...well done! Quote
