Paul Boratko Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Just came across these on Ebay... Nice looking models... Quote
legomuppet9 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Nope not seen them before, the price he's charging for the actual models are extortionate Quote
jantjeuh Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Pretty cool models but yeah, the prices are grossly inflated. Quote
Rishab N Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Some nice models. I like the rocket launcher, but those prices are horrible Quote
Kelkschiz Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Indeed, the prices are totally unrealistic, i seriously hope nobody will be tempted to buy those sets. Still that aside, his models do have some merits. I like what he has done with the hull section of the tank. He also managed to incorporate quite a few functions in a relatively small build. Quote
radar92 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 The model are insanely priced. On the other hand the instructions are just five bucks. The truck looks nice, but no the scale I work with. Quote
captainmib Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 That abrams looks quite ok. Simple and clean, but still good looking. If you don't want to invest in normal bricks this is a good way to build a tank. I like it. Quote
Simarilius Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Those prices are ridiculous, do love the way hes packaged the bricks in the models for sale though. I'd pay a bit extra for the bricks to come in storage boxes like that. Quote
legolijntje Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 The model may be quite expensive, the standalone instructions have a very good price Quote
Theo van Vroenhoven Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) Models look nice! Has anybody experience building these? Couldn't stand the temptation. Just bought the instructions for the tank for 5 dollars. I have 5 L motors lying around for the Grove that I can use in this build. Will let you know how it works out! Edited October 20, 2014 by Theo van Vroenhoven Quote
Theo van Vroenhoven Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I bought the instructions over Ebay for $5 but you can save $2 if you buy them directly on his website: http://www.lforces.com/Abrams.html Quote
legolijntje Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Oh, I didn't knew he has a site. I took a look at those instructions samples and the instructions look like a very, very high quality. Amazing work Quote
Theo van Vroenhoven Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I already received the instructions. They are clear to follow but not as good as 'real' LEGO instructions. Wiring (not unimportant with 5 motors) is not included. This could become a challenge (at least for me...). Quote
legolijntje Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I bought the instructions for the tank and the quality is indeed very good, but there are a few glitches. If someone could make a parts list of all the models and add them to Rebrickable... EDIT: I hope LForces doesn't mind if I post the parts list from the instructions here. Here you can view the parts list Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) EDIT: I hope LForces doesn't mind if I post the parts list from the instructions here. Here you can view the parts list Somehow I was expecting more than just one page of parts... Edited October 20, 2014 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
Balrog Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 This is very ambitious, but I think the prices for the complete sets are ridiculous. Quote
jantjeuh Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) Somehow I was expecting more than just one page of parts... Makes it even more clear that the prices for the complete sets are hugely inflated. I wonder if people still buy these sets anyway. He could make a nice profit. If someone could make a parts list of all the models and add them to Rebrickable... Since these are paid MOCs, the author has to submit the models himself Drop him an email I'd say. Lucio Switch Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I agree, the prices of complete sets are ... just a little too high ... but only a little , especially compared to the cost of only the instructions. It would have to figure out how much it would cost buying all the parts from Bricklink, but I don't think the price can be so high. Quote

Tonight I will compile a BrickStore partlist and calculate the current BL prizes. My guess is that it will be around $400 Quote

Tommy Styrvoky Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 The prices seem to be way too high, the models look alright. The colors and shaping could be improved with the use of studded parts and The colors are kind of random on the hull and turret. Quote
Theo van Vroenhoven Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 OK I just finished the hard work ;-) Entered all the parts in BrickStock, using 42009 as a start. The total part count is 1270 with an average BL value of $401 (New) My guess was not that bad! ;-) The most expensive parts of course are the Power Function components. If you own those already the rest of the parts will cost you 'only' $189 The BrickStock file can be found here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28179105/LForces%20M1%20Abrams%20Tank.bsx Quote
jantjeuh Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Thanks! Though maybe a bit futile, as I've been in contact with LForces and he will be adding his models to Rebrickable tonight Quote
