    Technic 2019 Set Discussion

Looking at the offroader, I think it uses 8 of the red shock absorbers, two per each arm. Each of those shock absorbers can support about 500 grams before it starts to retract. That means we can support a total weight of 4kg at one stud suspension travel. if the model weighs around 1 kilogram, we can calculate that we can expect around 4 studs of suspension travel from each wheel. I hope that the planetary gear drive uses rounded planetary gears which can also act like a CV joint receptacle, allowing for a pivot point near or inside the wheel.

If you watch Just2Good's video you can see the doors have stickers on them, so sadly no new print The Clocktower coming with most of the Yule Ball characters is actually a really good thing. First of all, we'll probably get Fred and George next year alongside Neville, Luna and Ginny. And lego was bound to make these YB outfits sometime, and they would probably throw them in a future CMF if it weren't for this set. This gives us the chance of getting way more interesting characters when a second CMF comes around
  6. Take a look at NKubate's Jeep Hurricane. It has everything you need and more. It might give you some ideas. Official website LINK, YouTube

  9. Thank you very much technicmad!! Now it is available, I hope that Calabar is able to fix the LDD problem now :)

  11. We are broadcasting today from the port town of Al Kuwem in southern Alsarh (D2). The President is here today to visit the latest vessel in the naval fleet. The TPV Fortune is a high tech sloop-of-war, with the latest technology including a new form of sonar location and UAV that can take off from the back for reconnaissance missions. Despite its small size it is well armed with a front mounted machine gun and torpedoes while biometric doors prevent the vessel being hijacked by pirates. It will be used to guard Alsarh's waters, escort other vessels and aim to proactively deal with the issue of the pirates in the Isle of Raz. http://IMG_20190426_110633223_HDR-01 by marvelBoy123, on Flickr Following the recent terrorist attacks in Bandaud and New Brickia as well as the threat of the WDS, there is a strong military presence at the event today in order to ensure the president's safety. Luckily the ship has been moored in a quiet, upmarket area or Al Kuwem. The buildings running alongside the docks are the Jeberah villa (residence of renowned automotive engineer Petrov Czarin) and a large storehouse owned by a small group of traders from Toohati. *Notes outside of news narrative - Al Kuwem is a trading town which was first found by merchants from Fulshako in the 15th century, who built a town inspired by the architecture of their home country. It was then ruled by Fulshako for a short time before being given back to Alsarh. Despite this it has kept its own culture, with traditional building styles from the Fulshako area and with its people following the Malsi religion. It is officially the special administrative region of Al Kuwem and is ruled by the Imam under the Alsarhian government.* http://WIP docks by marvelBoy123, on Flickr *Story outside of news narrative - The traders supposedly from Toohati would - under closer inspection - appear not to be traders or from Toohati. Though their property has a few crates of fish and spices within, it is actually the site of something far more sinister. There are five of them : two within the storage area one covering the window and the other the door, the third posing as a secretary has a full view across the street - watching for soldiers, the other two are concealed on the roof of the building - one with a sniper rifle at the ready waiting for the target to enter his sights* http://IMG_20190424_170500984_HDR-02 by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://WIP2 by marvelBoy123, on Flickr And the president steps up onto the ship with his bodyguard... BANG! ...*The live broadcast following this is drowned out by screams and cries and the terrorists open fire on the crowd* http://IMG_20190424_170730487_HDR-01 by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://IMG_20190424_170945600_HDR-01 by marvelBoy123, on Flickr *The following is later broadcast* We are thankful to say that our great president was not injured in todays attack in Al Kuwem, his bodyguard received a wound to the leg but is being treated in hospital and likely to make a full recovery. The situation was handled effectively with soldiers storming the building and eliminating the threat before any others could be injured. The culprits behind the attack are unknown with no attackers taken alive or terrorist organisations claiming responsibility. Though police and military are making enquiries the perpetrators remain unknown... http://The Docks 1 by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://IMG_20190424_171403499_HDR-01 by marvelBoy123, on Flickr This is not yet finished - some pictures are missing and others will be replaced for clearer ones in the near future.
  12. Creator of Bricksafe here... I have fixed the bug you were triggering with your uploaded LXF file. It is not a valid zip file (which was triggering the bug), other than that I can't tell you much about it.

Maybe because the set will include no minifigure’s Which would just be absolute pure evil.
  14. I really like the little diorama, a random minifig wouldn't improve it from my point of view.
  15. Thinking of recent initiatives such as Lego Forma or Bricklink's celebration of the 60 years anniversary of Lego, I wonder if crowdfunding represents a true opportunity for afols. In fact, whilst Forma is a means to test a new product, minimizing the risk and using a different marketing strategy, Bricklink’s case is much more interesting. First of all which is the limit between an afol and an entrepreneur or, better said, between a passion and a business? And when a passion, taken to the extremes, becomes a way to earn money is it still a hobby? But let us not kid ourselves, the amount of hours that a high level afol invests to conceive a model and then to build it will never be repaid, neither by Bricklink nor by the tip that Lego may allocate to him if his Idea becomes a catalogue’s product. Therefore Bricklink’s attempt constitutes a fascinating mix of the (narcissistic?) will to show off and share with peers a hobby mastery, and a business in its purest form, spontaneously born to fill a gap. Whereas Lego, in spite of its formal approvals, cannot or simply don’t want to listen, then afols will step forward, kickstarting their own models, thus creating a parallel market. It is a win-win situation, at least for both Bricklink and afols (creators and supporters/buyers). How many times people gave up on building complex afols’ designs shown on Rebrickable, despite having the instructions for free, due to the impossibility or the high difficulty to find the proper parts? Maybe in the future Bricklink and Brickowl will take charge of this tedious procedure and, being paid for the trouble, they will sell their own sets regularly. Perhaps this hypothetical new market will also become the second chance for many rejected Ideas.

Harry Potter 2019 - Rumors and discussion

I made some thoughts about the Connection of the Clocktower to the other parts of the Castle. I'm pretty sure that it will be connected on the other side of the whoping Willow set. I Always thought the whoping Willow set has the entrance to the Courtyard but now I'm sure that this part should represent the Stone Bridge. So the Connection to this will probably be the other part of the Castle. Then the clocktower set will actually be there where the other entrance is in the D2C set. I know that the clocktower is lokated on a total differnt place normaly but we all now that TLG is sometimes not that accurate. Why I come to this idea? If you look at the Clocktower interior picture you can see on the right side that the connetion part is not directly in the wall, there is an angel piece in between. If you connected it to the Willow set, it will have the right angel now to look like the third part of the D2C castle as well. Even it's a different part of the castle. And the gap on the entrance really look like you can add the viaduct there.

Yeah I meant jaw, sorry xD. Thank you for the information, it's going to be hard to do I see. I'll need to dive a little deeper into bricklink to find something it might connect to.

The biggest mystery about this set is how they managed to prevent the minifigs from leaking, if the release date is this close They probably banished the leakers to the Upside Down
  20. I uploaded it on https://bricksafe.com/pages/Mbrick/ but I can't have access to it, maybe you have

I think the old Horntail body/head/tail is all one piece, so no. I will double-check that, though. EDIT: The bottom of the mouth is part of the large body mold, the top of the head hooks on with the same kind of indentations as minifigure helmet visors. Maybe you already knew this, but I have no idea how one would connect the old head if those are its only connection points. I won't say it's 100% impossible, but I certainly couldn't figure it out. Also, do you mean "jaw" instead of "yaw"? If so, again, it would be hard if not impossible. Here's a link to the inventory of the old Horntail from Bricklink.

Tbh I really like the yule ball hermione, 1 of the better figures of this wave in my opinion. On a side note, do you guys think it's possible to use the old horntail head on the new body? And if so is there a piece or any way to build the yaw? I know the colour is kinda of but that won't bother me too much.

[Help] Front axle with motor in the middle??

You need help with a FRONT axle that has an L-motor on top as a functional showpiece which drives the REAR axles? Or did I not read it right? Anyway it should be easy enough to accomplish; Have a look at the axle thread for ideas. Then all you do is put a couple of gears down to your differential from your motor. Right?
  25. Ok, now I try Thank you It continues to give me "Server Error (500)" when I create a page on Bricksafe I try the other site
  26. You should use an extarnal file hosting/cloud serive. In this caso you can use a LEGO related one such as brickshelf or bricksafe, that are reliable and allow to host both images and lxf files and share that with hotlink.
