LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

The only other characters that have altered appearances are Gregor (corrected Clone skin colour) and the 332nd Jet Trooper (never an actual Minifig, but able to be made with existing parts); Jedi Bob (confirmed) and Zam Wesell stand out. I am a little disappointed that they chose to make Jedi Bob a fleshie, though, since it furthers the Lando debacle (yellow == White). Additionally, he could have stayed yellow and just been retconned into a near-Human (Nothoiin, Hrakian). True, though it is not nearly prominent enough to feel worthy of taking a new print or mould slot (unless they also make the Battlefront 2015 Magma Troopers). The only thing that I can think of (short of a yet-unleaked set) is for her to be the second Minifig in Jedi Bob’s starfighter. It sort of makes sense, as she is the only remaining 2002 Minifig not to be remade.

    Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I cannot see LEGO making a new specialised mould for the Mansion, though. 🫤 The post says that the 10 Minifigs are Wolverine, Cyclops, Mystique, Beast, Storm, Professor X, Magneto, “and more”. This leaves three open slots - Hopefully Jean, Gambit, and Jubilee. Mystique is a weird pick, IMO; she appears in the prototype (along with Sabertooth and Emma Frost), but Sinister would be a better villain to include.

I'm going to tentatively assume it's Fleshie jedi bob, since that is a figure we know is upcoming. (Also, jedi bob has a "canon" race now, which is just a weird thing to say.) Any other fleshified figures I'm going to assume are just artistic license Mostly, but they do have that hose that loops around to under their helmet in front. Could be done with printing like the clone pilots, or a new mold. I read that this morning after I found out spacetroopers were in the OT! The other suit was stolen, right? I just don't know what she'd show up in- we're out of anniversary figs, and she doesn't really fit anywhere.

Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Zdarskys batman references it directly so canon 3 jokers didnt really go anywhere tho But canonicity can seem really silly
  6. Hopefully its Zam. While I'd prefer seeing her included in a Bounty Hunter Pursuit remake I'd still be happy just getting the character alone in an upcoming unrelated set. I'd be disappointed if the illustrator was indicating Thrawn who we already know is supposed to show up in the Peridea set.

If I had to guess the minifigure line up for the X-Mansion based on stuff we've heard (there was also a post today on Instagram from BrickReporter that said we'd get Mystique): 1. Wolverine (reuse) 2. Cyclops (reuse) 3. Storm (reuse) 4. Beast (reuse) 5. Professor X 6. Magneto (either reuse from X-Jet or classic costume) 7. Mystique 8. Rogue (reuse) 9. Gambit 10. Jean Grey

    Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Depends on who's in it. 10 minifigures isn't a lot but if they can at least complete the original TAS team with Jean, Gambit, Jubilee and Xavier, possibly with either Classic Magneto or Mr. Sinister thrown in on top I would still consider that as a solid start for the X-Men. Another deciding factor is going to be whether we get anything else in the January wave. Its only two months away from the X-Mansion's release so it won't be a long wait. If we see additional X-Men sets with more new characters then I'm willing to overlook the mansion's low minifigure count.

I don't think it would work.
  10. The Ship of Theseus is one of my all-time favorite paradoxes (I swear this connects back to Lego trains). For the unfamiliar, it goes like this: Theseus is an ancient Greek hero and he has a ship. As time goes on, parts of his ship begin to wear out and decay and he must replace them one by one. After some time, he has replaced every single part on his ship. The question raised is: Is it still the same ship?. If not, when does it become a new ship? When half of the pieces are replaced? When the final piece is replaced? It's an interesting thought experiment for sure. So, how does this circle back to Lego trains? I have been building Lego trains since I was little and while most of my old creations are long gone, some survive. Specifically, two small switchers from around 2012/2013. For the sake of this post, I'm just going to focus on the larger and more interesting one. Please excuse the photo quality. This is the best I could find. I remember being quite proud of this at the time. Funnily enough, it uses my fictional railway's color scheme of blue and white completely on accident. Back then, I built with whatever colors and parts I had on hand, and I chose blue and white at random. I ended up really liking the combo of those colors (As well as the variety and commonality of parts), so when I chose an "official" color scheme a few years later, this was an obvious choice. Anyway, back to the locomotive itself. It was based on a British Rail Class 04 with side skirts, inspired by a particular TV show and a particular character. At this point, the locomotive was not powered and functioned purely as a "push train". As the years went on and on, I made little tweaks and big redesigns to it. However, I never thought about taking it apart completely, only improving it. I'll skip all of these in between versions for sake of not boring you! Fast forward to today, 12 years later, and I have the latest version of my little switcher. Version number IHaveLostCount. On the whole, the locomotive is a fair bit shorter and a little bit taller than in its original form. Usually, I am a fan of longer, lower locomotives, but for this switcher, I really do like the current silhouette. For some reason, I decided the design directly prior to this one was just too simplistic. So, I started adding details and weird building techniques just because. I never normally build like this, but it was an interesting challenge. In addition, I gave myself the restriction of only using parts I had on-hand, so no Bricklink orders. I got super invested in creating this angle using car doors. The big challenge came when i had to fill in the gap it created at the top. The solution I went with involved cheese slopes on their side, but just trapped inside, free floating. With techniques like these, the model certainly looked more interesting, but it feels less sturdy than it used to, which I am not a fan of. There is barely any space in the cab with the electronics, but I wanted to at least fit in a figure and one control panel. With the roof removed, we can see the recharging port for the Circuit Cube that is powering this little guy. The back section also comes off easily to access the power switch. This also reveals the trick that the engineer has no legs! Honestly, ever since the first powered version with Circuit Cubes, I could never figure out how to get the minifig legs to fit in too. So, I always omitted them. Here I've removed some of the side skirting so you can see the motor mounted below. It just uses one basic circuit cubes motor driving the rear wheels. Maybe one day I'll try making it dual motor or something, but that's a while away. I did take a video of it briefly running. The top speed is not all that fast, but this thing can crawl quite well (Both shown in the video), which makes sense for a small switcher like this. In terms of pulling power, I haven't tested the limits of it, but it hasn't struggled when I've hooked it up to a handful of cars. So, with all these changes over many years, is this switcher of Theseus the same switcher I built in 2012? I would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks for looking!

Ah, fair enough. As he falls into the category of 'named character that's never been in a set before' I figured he was going to be an extra anniversary figure.

According to the illustrator of the poster, there are two characters that LEGO suggested be included. While he did not specify anyone outright, he did say that any new faces were not accidental; this seems to confirm Nien for a physical Minifig! The illustrator also said that he has not seen any discussion of the second character, which would seem to rule out fleshie Jedi Bob. Interestingly, Zam Wesell is depicted as a fleshie as well, though her design is the original 2002 one; yellow Han, Luke, and Qui-Gon appear on the poster, so it is a bit strange to depict her differently from her Minifig. Combined with the cancelled 2020 version that is being shown, I am beginning to wonder if we are somehow getting Zam in one of the upcoming sets - Maybe Nien is a non-anniversary character in the X-wing vs. TIE set (as suggested by others), and Zam is the mysterious second ‘fig in Jedi Bob’s starfighter? 🤔 Spacetroopers are just standard Stormtroopers with a backpack (no new detailing/printing), so they are easy to cobble together ourselves. Fun fact: There was only one Spacetrooper suit, so they used split-screen to make the two that we see in ANH!
  15. Man, that's rough. Since it was at an apartment building, there's a good chance that someone else pulled it out. Hopefully someone rescued it. But that sounds like a horrible situation your sister was going through. I hope you can recreate your collection someday.

My personal most-wanted here- after nien numb makes his debut- is the imperial advisor guy. Such a creepy and cool design and one of the most intriguing things in the OT before all the expanded material came out.

Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread

I wasn't the one who threw it out it was my sister. And I did suggest putting it up on Facebook for someone to grab for free. However, in her defence she had very little time to vacate the premises as the landlord wanted to redevelop and she was moving into a much smaller house. I'm pretty sure the LEGO wasn't the only thing of worth that ended up in the skip bin. But yes it was incredibly wasteful and I'll regret not taking possession of the LEGO for the rest of my life, as not only could I have had fun rebuilding my childhood sets but I'd also have had plenty of bricks and pieces for MOC building.

I haven’t seen the X-Mansion. I have no idea who is in it. But just based off people’s comments here, I’m fairly confident it’s gonna be called the most disappointing minifigure lineup of all time.

    Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

The ghost and professor from the Great Hall are definitely of interest, and I’m also eager to see the three as yet unnamed students in that set. There’s a good chance they’ll cover the other three houses, but since Susan and Draco appear in this year’s advent calendar there’s actually a chance we’ll get some variety on that front for once. And speaking of the advent calendar, there’s also an unknown ghost there too. I’m also looking forward to the new parts in Potions Class. There’s apparently a new flask piece but we’ve already got an Erlenmeyer flask in lego form, and there are only so many flat bottomed flasks out there. Then again, maybe ‘flask’ is just an over generalization - perhaps lego is taking a cue from the ‘crystal phials’ on the student supply list and has figured out how to give us a test tube piece. Harry Potter summer waves are also pretty good about giving us new animals - if not new molds then at least new colors and prints. We know about the troll, but that’s more of a character like Kreacher, who had a new color of cat appear in the same set as him, so I’m hopeful we’ll see something else new pop up.
  20. Thank you Diego Baca! That is very helpful information.

  22. About time we're getting a Nien Nunb minifigure! I'm surprised they never included him in any of the Resistance sets from the Sequel Trilogy. Still better late than never. The X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter set seems like the most logical spot to include him in.
  23. https://bricknerd.com/home/the-missing-minifigures-of-lego-star-wars-3-24-23 here is a really good article with a pretty exhaustive list of missing original trilogy minifigs. There are still plenty of missing characters and variants.

I wouldn't mind generic ghosts based on some of the background characters in later sets but not right now when we still don't have the Fat Friar or Bloody Baron. Or for that matter, the Grey Lady's depiction from the first two movies.
  25. If you're talking Kenner, just glancing quickly at the list of original figures from the OT: We've had Death Star Troopers but not a specific DS commander, we've had Death Star droids before but not in silver, Snaggletooth is missing still, everyone is there from ESB, and from RoTJ we're missing 8D8, Klaatu, Prune Face, Tessek, Droopy McCool, and Sy Snootles. Nien Numb is technically missing still, but it appears that we're getting him sooner rather than later. So not really much!

They should keep Beast and Storm exclusive to the CMF and do the normal Magneto outfit, have a display stand with Deadpool & Wolverine like in the Diagon Alley set with the secret box and include Jean,Gambit,Prof X,Jubilee and Nightcrawler and boom you have a perfect selection of figures.

“Not a specific character, but Lego hasn’t made any imperial space-troopers either despite them having screen time in ANH.” Even when Hasbro did him 2 decades ago we were all like “Who?”. Yes, would be super cool to have him, but also super obscure. I doubt there’s more than a few fans that even know they are there. Being a convert from Hasbro to lego, I often wonder how many of the original line figures lego has yet to produce. Anyone here happen to know?
