  1. Yeah i know, the huge Amount of TLBM themed Moc`s might be a bit overwhelming (why is everyone overwhelmed, how about just whelmed...) but isn`t it just great when a single Movie inspires so many creative Minds. Without further ado, here is my Take on the Police Cruisers from the Lego Batman Movie. I got the Idea when someone posted a Screenshot of an Advertisement from Target for the TLBM Sets. This one,to be precise (Image was cropped to remove unnessesary Stuff) TLBM-Police Car-6 I really liked the Car and i thought "Hey,that doesn`t look too hard to make". So i saved this Image and looked through various Trailers and short Spots to get a Glimpse of how the Car looked from Behind and how the Undercarriage was made.Needless to say there weren`t many high Quality Sources so i started to guess here and there. My first Design with the Digital Designer looked pretty okay... TLBM-Police Car-1 So i made a Partslist and started building after my Bricklink Order arrived. 20170311_184610 20170311_184622 20170311_184630 20170311_184654 20170311_184704 20170311_184722 20170311_184738 20170311_184829 20170311_184840 Of course i changed the Color from Sandblue to Black, since most Parts are much easier to get in that Color.I also had a few Police Stickers from Lego City Sets lying around to add additional Details. So,how do you like my Version of the Police Cruiser? P.S. I won`t add a huge Speaker on the Roof :D

    The Lego Batman Movie 2

The Lego Batman Movie 2 has been confirmed by Chris McKay https://flic.kr/p/2cgYFeS I am not expecting to hear anymore on it until after The Lego Movie 2 has died a bit after being released. What would you like to see/expect for a sequel?
  3. This is my attempt to recreate the Bat Chopper "Bat Wolf" from the Lego Batman Movie. The Bat Wolf was notably the only vehicle portrayed in the TLBM Making Of book that never got an official set. My design goals were to make it as accurate as possible to how it it appeared in the film, and to make the build sturdy and playable. Flickr Album Credit to @KMPMOCS. I used his version for inspiration when I was starting the project.
  4. After watching The LEGO Batman Movie, I am now ready to give a full review of this set with perspective from the movie. Let’s get the ball rolling for my 3rd Eurobricks review. Overview Name: 70904 Clayface Splat Attack Theme: LEGO System / The LEGO Batman Movie Year: 2017 (1H) Pieces: 448 Minifigures: 2 Price: USD 34.99 / EUR 34.99 / GBP 29.99 / SGD 64.99 / MYR 179.90 Resources: Brickset and Bricklink Introduction As a kid I watched the Batman animated series on TV every week. Even though Clayface did not appear in any major live action Batman movie I can vividly recall this villain with its shape shifting abilities. His origin story from the animated series is also quite horrendous so that’s probably the reason why I remember this character very well. The front box art shows Clayface’s big mouth with his right arm shaped like a giant hammer ready to pound Mayor McCaskill. At the back of the box it shows Clayface firing off six-studs rapid shooter as Batman tries to save Mayor McCaskill. There is nothing fancy on the sides of the box so let’s move on. Inside we get 4 numbered bags and an instruction booklet. I am happy to say there is no sticker sheet. Hurray! Build Below is the preview of the instruction booklet on how each bag contributes to the build. Bag # 1 contents This is the body frame of Clayface. It uses basic SNOT techniques very effectively to pull off the structure needed for Clayface’s body. After completing bag #1 you’ll have the body frame and legs completed. You also complete a very small build that makes up the clay “splat” trap holding Mayor McCaskill. Bag # 2 contents After completing bag #2, the front and back of Clayface’s body is already fully covered with medium nougat (BL: medium dark flesh) 2x2 round plates. I cannot recall any other set that uses round plates to achieve this kind of texture and detail. The hinges provide the necessary angle to make the body rounded. At first I thought the round plates will be flimsy but they hold up quite well. Bag #3 contents Bag #3 adds the face and the upper arms. As I mentioned earlier there is no sticker in this set so the eyes are printed on a pair of 1x2 slopes. The mouth is built using several clips that you can swivel up and down. This enables you to modify the facial expression of Clayface from a very mad or grumpy look (default expression) to a mild smile or smirk. So far I have no complaints but if I really need to nit-pick I wish that the designers added varying lengths of clips to add more varieties of facial expressions. Bag #4 contents Finally, bag #4 completes the set with three interchangeable lower arms-- two of them have six-studs rapid shooters and the other one has a hammer-fist. I admit that this is just petty criticism but why put six-studs rapid shooters for both arms when the designer clearly recognises the need for interchangeable arms? I think adding a lower arm with an articulated hand as seen in the movie is more suitable. People are teasing me…. that I look like a poop! Overall, the build of Clayface is really enjoyable. The texture created using round plates makes an unusual organic look that makes my wife gags whenever she sees it on display. Eventually, I have to hide it from her because she warmed me of dumping Clayface in the trash can if she sees it on display one more time. If being repulsive and ugly is the end-goal here, then the designers succeeded. My son likes changing the facial expression of Clayface. Even though the shape of the mouth is limited, the left and right eyes can be swapped to make the angry face look like a frown, as seen from the back of the box. Not to forget -- after completing the build, I still have all these spare parts. Parts Speaking of parts, I have to include a dedicated section of this review for parts alone because I am amazed at the crazy amount of parts in new colour included in this set. This is actually the main reason why I bought this set because once I grow tired of this set I can easily dismantle this and use the parts for my MOCs. It’s like the designer of this set challenged the boss and said “I want these parts in medium nougat or you won’t get this set created,” and voila! 15 new elements in medium nougat (BL: medium dark flesh) and 1 new element in reddish brown were created just for Clayface. In total, 271 pieces in new colours are used in this set (not counting the spare parts). Therefore, as this set has a total of 448 pieces, about 60% of this set is made of parts in new colour. Is there any other set in recent years that can beat that? Minifigures There are only 2 minifigs included in the set which is typical for its price bracket. Both has dual face printing as well as front and back torso printing. Sadly, leg printing is absent for both. If I will put on my Star Wars fanboy hat right now, I will demand “the minifigs must have leg printing” but fortunately this is not Star Wars and the price of this set is very reasonable that the absence of leg printing does not bother me at all. Mayor McCaskill’s is unique to this set and at this moment her bob cut hair piece also appears in this set only. Fun fact: Mariah Carey voiced the mayor. Her birthmark on the face is also present on the minifigure so by right if you own Mayor McCaskill minifigure then you own a Mariah Carey minifigure. I’m not a Superheroes collector so I don’t have a big amount of Batman minifigures but I happen to have The LEGO Movie (TLM) version of Batman that came out in set 70817 (Batman & Super Angry Kitty Attack). It is very similar to the Batman minifigure that comes in this set; however, there are slight differences. Both have angry and grinning faces but the expression from the older one is more exaggerated. The cape of the new Batman minifigure is made of spongy stretchable fabric while the old one uses the classic starched fabric. The utility belt is a new accessory and somehow because of this, Batman’s “10” abs are now more prominent (if you don’t get this reference then you’ve missed it in the TLBM). Also, the yellow ink in TLBM version is noticeably brighter. Overall, the new batman is the better minifigure. Conclusion Superman, you’re not supposed to be here! Ok, I said from the beginning that I will give my opinion with perspective from the movie so let’s address the elephant in the room here. Is the Clayface Splat Attack scene even in the movie? If you have not watched the movie and want to reveal the spoiler go ahead and read below. Now that you know if the set is accurate to the movie, does it even affect my opinion of this set? Not at all. In worst case scenario, I can look at this set as a parts pack to get new medium nougat coloured elements and even having said that this is still a very good and enjoyable set. It’s like an action figure set with 2 minifigures. If you strip it down to core selling points -- you get Batman, a very recognisable villain brick-built action figure with two six-stud rapid shooters, articulated joints and whimsical face, and a Mariah Carey minifigure. My gripe on Clayface not having more ways to change the expression and lacking a normal hand is just splitting hair because my son loves every bit of this set even though my wife hates it for reasons I cannot further articulate in this review. For me, it is one of the better-valued TLBM set out there. Even for someone not heavily invested in Superheroes I will recommend it just for the building experience and parts. Review summary Playability: 9/10 - enjoyable brick-built action figure that kids will love Design / Building Experience: 9/10 - Simple SNOT technique that works with unusual texture using round plates Price / Value for money: 10/10 - At best - a well-designed villain set; At worst - an excellent parts pack of medium nougat elements. Overall: 9/10 - Don’t buy this when it reminds you of poop. Other than that, I highly recommend it.
  5. Last Week i bought the new Scarecrow Set and i have to say,i`m not too impressed with Scarecrow`s weird Helicopter Thing. So i thought "hey, why not designing anything else?" I tried to use as many of the Pieces from Scarecrows Helicopter and gave his new Mode of Transportation another Twist. Let me introduce you: Scarecrows Balloon of Doom!!! TLBM-Scarecrows Balloon Doom-2 TLBM-Scarecrows Balloon Doom-1 I had the Balloon Parts from last Years Ninjago Raid Zeppelin but needed another Panel to make a full Balloon.Too bad my favorite Bricklink Store has those Parts only in black and red. Seems like Scarecrows Balloon will be striped in the End. So,what do you think of my Design?

    [MOC] (TLBM) Batman's stitching

Hi all together, after quite a long time of rather passive reading, I'll jump in at the deep end and share a little MOC-scene. Did you ever marvel (< ha ha, hidden irony in a Batman-post?) at the source of all these new weird outfits Batman showed up in the latest movie? Quite simple: lonley lounging around in his Batcave, some day while surfing Batstagram, Batwanda and Batsy, and after clicking through endless chains of related-videos in the depth of DIY-posts on Battube, he's got the trendy "self-sewn-bug". Thenceforth he tried out every single idea, no matter how crazy it might have been - he had to stoat it. Come on - which other way would have brought him a pink skirt in his size? You still don't believe? Have a look yourself - some source leaked exclusive insights of his studio to me: (Large versions of the images can be found in the corresponding flickr album.) Cheers Cris

    [MOC] TLBM - Catwomen`s 9 Livez

Catwoman usually sneaks around on Rooftops and dark Allyways, but what if she needs a fast Getaway on the Road? Well in this Case, she can rely on "9 Livez",a lean, mean Streetmachine. It`s the purrfect Mixture between Power and good Looks. The Hotrod is mostly Black but has some small Accents in purple. As you can see,i used some Parts from Catwoman`s Mighty Micro Car and from her recent oversized Bike. So,what do you think of Catwoman`s new Ride? 20170311_175618 20170311_175600 20170311_175510 20170311_175451 20170311_175443 20170311_175316 20170311_175101
  9. It`s already been a Month since i purchased the Catcycle Chase Set from the TLBM. I like it for the Minifigs, but i`ve never been a Motorcycle Fan (i prefer Hotrods, Lowriders, Muscle Cars,Customs or Classics in general). Sure, the usage of that printed Slope is outstanding, one of the big Surprises because usually TLC uses Stickers. Anyways,i was just thinking "what if Catwoman had a Car,and what would suit her?" I think a Hotrod fits her perfectly, they are small but quick and powerful and they turn your Head around,,,rawww! May i present you Catwoman`s "Nine Livez" (yeah,i know that Name is worn out and somewhat corny but it fits. TLBM-Nine Livez-1 TLBM-Nine Livez-2 TLBM-Nine Livez-3 I used the Hotrod from the Speed Champions Set as a Base and modified the Hell out of it. Special Parts like the 4 printed halfround Tiles, the printed 2x2 Slope, the trans purple round Tiles and the purple Rims from the Bike will be reused. The Car will be mostly black but with a few purple Bits build in (motly ones i already have or are easy to get). Windshield and rear window will be trans yellow (luckily i still have a trans yellow 1x4 from the classic Space Age). I also will use Parts from last Year`s Mighty Micro, that black pointy 1x2 Roofslope with printed Cat Eyes and the Tail (i think i have a second one somewhere....) for the Exhaust Pipes or...."Tail Pipes" :D So,what do you think of my Idea?

TLBM - 1950s GCPD Police Car

Yeah, this Time of the Year you just can`t avoid Lego Batman, especially if you are a Batman Fan anyway. I wanted to build something for those GCPD Cops from the Battlepack and so i decided to build a 50s Style Police Car like the ones they used in the Animated Series. And since Policework in Gotham never sleeps, you can watch Chief O`Hara chasing behind a suspicious Crook. An elegant Hoodslide helps her to get faster behind the Suspect and in the End he was caught. The Car itself was based on the Taxi from the Lego City Undercover Game but modified to be used as a Police Car.I also added some Stickers to the Car and no matter if based on a licensed Theme or not, this Car fits any Lego City perfect, don`t you think? 20170215_192828 20170215_192836 20170215_192856 20170215_192918 20170215_192942 20170215_192958 20170215_193018 20170215_193101 20170215_193329

    TLBM : Bat Signal

Who doesn`t know the iconic Bat Signal? In pretty much every Incarnation of the Batman Comics, Cartoons and Movies, this repurpused Searchlight was used to either call Batman for Help or to lure him into a Trap. It even made it`s Way into various Lego Sets with the latest Versions being used in the TLBM Sets. They all have something in common:They look okay, but it still could be better. That`s why i took the printed Dish from last Year`s Batman vs Superman Set,some Parts from the TLBM Police Minifig Pack and many Parts from my Parts Bin. And voila, there it is:My very own Bat Signal Vignette, complette with a Rooftop,an Antenna and a little AC Ventilator that can be used to turn the Bat Signal. 20170213_200235 20170213_200242 20170213_200257 20170213_200313 20170213_200321 The dynamic Duo arrives... 20170213_200345 20170213_200405 Um das kleine Diorama abzurunden (und damit Batman was hat um den Enterhaken dran zu hängen) habe ich noch eine kleine Antenne mit Teilen aus der Restekiste gebaut 20170213_200427 Simple but it works... 20170213_200445 20170213_200513 So,what do you think of my newest Creation? Upgrade to the Arkham Asylum

Over the past month, I dedicated a lot of time and effort in up-scaling and improving Lego's Arkham Asylum set 10937. After several Bricklink orders and trips to my local used Lego store, it is much larger and with some real grounds and hopefully enjoyable. Here is a video of its assembly from parts. I hope you enjoy!
  14. A few Day ago i showed you my Mod (although, very heavily modified) of the Security Booth from the aforementioned Set. It`s finally done, this little Project was based on the little halfway done Booth from the Scarecrow Special Delivery Set.I liked the Vehicle and the Minifigures, but that odd little Building wasn`t really to my liking,so i thought about extending it. Last Week i found these two printed Roofslopes and that sealed the Deal "modifying that Booth and using the Roofslopes. And here it is: 20170122_182004 20170122_182023 20170122_182030 20170122_182047 20170122_182053 20170122_182114 20170122_182130 20170122_182149 20170122_182209 20170122_182443 20170122_182509 20170122_182519 20170122_190552 20170122_183636 The Building now has four enclosed Walls,a Door and is filled with Clutter and Equipment to make it more comfy for the Security Guard. The large Desk contains Computers,Switches and even a big red Button to trigger the Alarm, just in Case something goes wrong at the Gotham Energy Facility. You can also find a small Filecloset with a Plant on top of it and some Handcuffs,a Gun and a Walkie Talkie.Small Details on the Outside like the Access Pad and the Alarm Siren add some Realism. I hope you really liked my newest Creation,Comments are welcome. #SameBatTimeAusNZ

Here in Jay's Brick Blog, Jay discusses about how Australia and New Zealand are receiving The LEGO Batman Movie 1 month later than most of the rest of the world. This is greatly disappointing to Australians and New Zealanders, and an (attempted) cash grab by Village Roadshow (as they want to release it during the holidays). I would like to ask the moderators to delay the time when spoilers for The LEGO Batman Movie are allowed. This would show consideration for those who receive the movie later. Thank you.
