[B-models] 10265 - Classic Sportscars from the 1960's
NKubate posted a topic in Special LEGO ThemesAfter my 2 pick-up alternates, I returned to set 10265 twice more but this time to create 2 vehicles heavily inspired by iconic and classic sportscars from the 1960's in which Ford also played a key role, the GT40 and the Shelby Cobra which both fit perfectly with the 1967 Mustang. First the GT40 famous for winning Lemans. The GT40 was first built in England, but the later version in the US. GT04 main by Nathanael Kuipers, on Flickr The model features working steering wheel, opening doors, and engine cover with an engine that can be removed and displayed separately. GT04 open by Nathanael Kuipers, on Flickr Next is the Cobra Roadster, also a car that originated in the UK, but which Shelby with the help of Ford imported to the US. There it was equipped with a much larger engine that also required other changes to the chassis and suspension. I built this specific model for the TLCB Lock-down competition Cobra Roadster by Nathanael Kuipers, on Flickr This was a tricky model to render in bricks due to all its curves. Cobra Roadster rear by Nathanael Kuipers, on Flickr As with the GT40, this model features a working steering wheel and opening doors. Both front and rear open too. Ford Mustang GT 350-H
Sariel posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingI'm happy to present my model of the classic 1966 Ford Mustang GT 350-H, a very special version of the legendary Pony. It doesn't look perfect, but it has all the functions I wanted, including some really creative ones. More photos and description: http://sariel.pl/2017/12/ford-mustang-gt-350-h/
'65 Shelby Mustang
Rolic posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingAlright.. Here's something classic and muscle - the mighty Shelby Mustang from year 1965 in it's original white + blue stripes color schema. So.. it turns out - it is only 3,5 years ago since I started to use some more color in my models - other than white I mean. I really like how the outdoor pictures turned out. For instance - in the next one it does really look like in the same scale as the building, thou the building is of course a real one. This model used some quite interesting techniques and details I think. Take a look at those rims. They are actually steering wheels. But stuffed inside those old type tires - they fit and stay there very well. So does the red break calipers. These do stay in place as the wheels go. Apart from all the historical models - this one I really regret taking apart. A sad moment to the humanity I'd say :) But... at that moment I didn't have enough bricks to keep it in one piece and build another car. So... hope you enjoy this old American beauty. As always - more pics at my flicker album here: Feel free to let me know what you think. See ya next time :) Cheers.
[MOC] AC Cobra 427
shimon posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHello everyone! Today i present you my latest and most complex MOC: the AC Cobra 427. The challenge was to create a medium sized car with a complex body structure and add as many technic features as possible making it look good, functional, playable and robust. After going through lots of difficulties i have finally managed to get it done. Here is the result: It features the following: 1. working steering via steering wheel + adjustable steering wheel angle 2. front and rear independant suspension 3. rear differential 4. working V8 piston engine 5. a lever that opens the hood 6. opanble doors 7. openable trunk 8. solid structure -Images removed- More photos on Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/27805688@N05/ P.S sorry for my bad photographing and editing skills.
[MOC] Shelby Mustang GT350
Nick Barrett posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingScale is 1:11, Features 90 degree V8 fake engine, steering, 4 speed transmission, double wishbone front / live axle rear suspension and everything that should open, does. Except the glovebox. Shelby Mustang GT350 by Nick Barrett, on Flickr Shelby Mustang GT350 by Nick Barrett, on Flickr The steering parts are those little 3L ones from a few years ago, which fit within these wheels for reasonable steering geometry at the expense of decent lock. Still, at least the wheels don't rub the sides of the close fitting arches. Shelby Mustang GT350 by Nick Barrett, on Flickr The shift plate from 8880 is just superb - such a nice gearchange! Now we just need one in black.... Shelby Mustang GT350 by Nick Barrett, on Flickr It's the '66 model GT350 with side window in place of the '65's louvres. Also without the '67-on extra metal grafted on the ends. Shelby Mustang GT350 by Nick Barrett, on Flickr Shelby Mustang GT350 by Nick Barrett, on Flickr Also, seats slide, tilt forward and recline. Well, the front ones do. The rear ones just sit there... Shelby Mustang GT350 by Nick Barrett, on Flickr

MOC - friendly Shelby Cobra 427
Gwail posted a topic in LEGO TownHere we go today with my younger daughter Alice's favourite car of my collection - Shelby Cobra 427. As many builders I've started with a brilliant model from lichtblau, adapting it to Friends dolls requirements (and adding the doors, of course :)), but I haven't liked its proportions and too vintage look. I wanted something more modern and sporty, so I've started the MOC from the scratch. The car is 6 studs wide, as it fits best to its dimensions in comparision with the previous shown Mustang and other cars, and it's heavy duty construction allows playing for my little daughter. The final effect is presented below, I'm almost pleased with it, besides some minor disadvantages, such as tiled grills on the side instead of the modified bricks (quite hard to get in my country, still on my wanted list). I've spent tons of time looking for optimal look of exhaust pipes, but there went Aurie from Chrome Block City in hand, adding some extra bricks to my order for one of the next creations (coming soon!) - I didn't realise, that the chrome helmet horn will fit so well. Hope you like it :)! More photos on my flickr page. Download a LDD file (not 100% accurate there are some differences). My other presentations:
