  1. Hello Pirates fans, Like many of you I can't stop loving the old Classic models so I wanted to rebuild this one but using modern parts, that because I wanted people, who don't own vintage parts, to be able to enjoy the model. To share my creation, I created building instructions with partslist and stickers (not everybody has those rare parts) and put them on my website. You can find get them for free at this adress : Saber Island Redux Instructions I did my best to respect the classic style and introduce new colors and parts, hope you'll enjoy the model. Don't hesitate to tell me what you think, please. Now go building

    [MOC] Republic Fighter Tank

A few months ago I built a TX-130T Imperial Fighter Tank since then I have been reworking the design to make it both more accurate and more sturdy. I also ordered the parts in different colors so that I could built a Republic Version of the tank as I was very keen to see how it would look and well... here is the result.Personally I am very happy with how it came out, but I'll let you judge for yourselves: Here is the tank accompanied by some clone troopers this should give you an idea of the size compared to a minifigure, overall I'd say it is pretty much in perfect minifig scale. Here you can see all the movable parts of the tank; the cannons can move up and down, the hatch opens up and the side engines and flaps can also move. Like with my previous design I left some place for a gunner to fit in and I can finally showcase this to you. Here we have a look at both this tank and my reworked Imperial tank, overal there aren't many changes between the two. Which one is your favourite? (Note you can also see a Stormtrooper in the gunners seat of the imperial one as I didn't highlight this in my previous pictures) And here are both tanks with their hatches closed. So that was pretty much it. I hope that you liked my version of the Republic Fighter tank, if you did (or didn't) be sure to leave me some feedback as I would greatly appreciate it.As always have a nice day!
  3. Today I propose a colour variant of the 7679 Republic Fighter Tank set. TX-130 Saber-class fighter tank by Veynom, on Flickr I wanted to create a version of this tank that would have been in active service during the first years of the Galactic Empire, immediately after the Clone War's end and the Republic's fall. TX-130 Saber-class fighter tank by Veynom, on Flickr Based on the model visible in the Star Wars Commander video game, I decided to go with a bi-colour paint-scheme based on light and dark blueish greys, similar to some existing camouflage patterns. TX-130 Saber-class fighter tank by Veynom, on Flickr Some details have been added here and there compared to the original model. In no particular order, I will list: - extra detailing on the side wings; - on the side turrets; - engine panel and tank "nose"; - tank sides that are slightly rounded. TX-130 Saber-class fighter tank by Veynom, on Flickr Playable features are still there and complete : - rear door that can lock or free the tank leader seat; - flickr misslies under the side wings; - detailed inside allowing room for a pilot and tank leader; - engine is accessible (and detailed) - compartments are available in the side wings to store hand weapons or tools; - rotating turrets - and the tank has wheels to easily move (and crush rebels) - yet, I do not intend to motorize it as it is too large to go on my 12V train track layout TX-130 Saber-class fighter tank by Veynom, on Flickr TX-130 Saber-class fighter tank by Veynom, on Flickr And a small engine maintenance operation: TX-130 Saber-class fighter tank by Veynom, on Flickr TX-130 Saber-class fighter tank by Veynom, on Flickr TX-130 Saber-class fighter tank by Veynom, on Flickr Hope you like it. Personally, I can confirm it looks quietly aggressive and the camouflage pattern works fine. Hard to really understand the tank shape when on grey baseplates. :)
