Hello all, Today I have some Jedi interceptor MOCs to show you. My plan going into this design was to find a happy medium between the large size of the official LEGO models (so, not use the bubble canopy piece) but not go for perfect minifigure scale either, as that would significantly limit the amount of detail I could add. In this, I think I succeeded fairly well, even if the models look clunky in a few areas. An up-close shot. Here might be a good opportunity to remark on my attempt at recreating the armor surrounding the canopy on the actual model. This was a real challenge and went through many revisions, but ultimately I settled on a combination of flag pieces and the "door rail" plates in the center so as to not cover up too much of the sides. A side profile without display stand. An aerial view. It is only now that I'm realizing the dark grey clips on the front don't match up and are bending the bar slightly. Oops. Lastly, a view of the interior. There is just enough space for one minfigure and you have to take the model apart to get the pilot in there. And here are the interceptors amongst my other models I made earlier this year! Thanks for looking at my creation!

So I've been going through old minifigures from the Star Wars theme and found miifigs like Kit Fisto and Plo Koon. The paint on them isn't there anymore. Any ideas on what to do?

The Battle of Utapau... one of the penultimate battles of the Clone Wars. Obi-Wan Kenobi and the 212th Battalion fight to destroy the CIS and General Grievous in a massive assault. This MOC acts as a playset, including environmental elements and both sides of the battle with a variety of play features to boot! These two preceding photos are to show off my latest MOC (or rather, re-doing of an existing Lego product), what I am calling Darth Vader's Transformation Remix. It's my attempt to somehow improve on the original set that was released way back in 2005. Now, the original set (# 7251) included a few key features: Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker, a brick-built FX-9 Surgical Assistant Droid and the operation table. But, seeing as quite a few people out there have recreated this particular scene with much more detail than was included with the set (i.e., background walls, redone operating table, etc), it seemed a bit lacking. So, I made an attempt to expand on the set by adding a few background wall panels, along with various other bricks that serve as "readouts" outlining Vader's condition. Also, while the colors of the bricks used for the original 7251 were already subdued and grave, I wanted to give the remixed version a more doleful and foreboding color scheme. Hence the use of silver & titanium metallics, med. stone grays and blacks, with some other color bricks thrown in to balance out the darker colors. Another thing is that there are only two wire and cable-like structures near the top of the second panel from the left; this I did in an attempt to make it seem as if the "room" was hastily put together, and the builders placed all of the wires and power cables in safe enough areas except for those two. As a matter of fact, the entire top half of panel two is supposed to represent a shoddily built part of the medical apparatus. This is my version of sydag's wonderful delta-7 model (which you should view here www.flickr.com/photos/sydag/sets/7215765181084275), which also incorporates elements of legorevolution's model (www.flickr.com/photos/legorevolution/albums/7215762721077...). Originally I just built legorevolution's eta-2 as per the instructions, but a while later i found sydag's version of the ship, which blew me further away. I ended up having a cockpit module from legorevolution and the wings from sydag's. But I did this before he produced his instructions and also showed his lovely series of fighters, so parts of the wings were not exactly the same to begin with. For a while I was satisfied and they began collecting dust while I did other things. I can't remember exactly when but in the second half of last year I picked it up again and started putting together obi-wan's red interceptor from the same battle, and the blue one that goes to Utapau. I fiddled with these for a while, but because I didn't have all of the parts I needed for obi-wan's ships, this one was the template for the rest. I basically finished it then, but without sticker details. This weekend I sat down and put those on, and here we have it. I'm quite proud of this one, although it's definitely too big. But that's alright with me because I felt that the movie ships themselves were unrealistically small anyway. So here you have it. Large chunks of this have remained untouched from the source material (in lego), but there are several areas, including the back wing sections, the bottom, and most of the cockpit which I have rearranged to suit my personal preferences.
