    [MOC] Eta-2 Actis-Class Interceptor

Hello all, Today I have some Jedi interceptor MOCs to show you. My plan going into this design was to find a happy medium between the large size of the official LEGO models (so, not use the bubble canopy piece) but not go for perfect minifigure scale either, as that would significantly limit the amount of detail I could add. In this, I think I succeeded fairly well, even if the models look clunky in a few areas. An up-close shot. Here might be a good opportunity to remark on my attempt at recreating the armor surrounding the canopy on the actual model. This was a real challenge and went through many revisions, but ultimately I settled on a combination of flag pieces and the "door rail" plates in the center so as to not cover up too much of the sides. A side profile without display stand. An aerial view. It is only now that I'm realizing the dark grey clips on the front don't match up and are bending the bar slightly. Oops. Lastly, a view of the interior. There is just enough space for one minfigure and you have to take the model apart to get the pilot in there. And here are the interceptors amongst my other models I made earlier this year! Thanks for looking at my creation!

  4. So I've been going through old minifigures from the Star Wars theme and found miifigs like Kit Fisto and Plo Koon. The paint on them isn't there anymore. Any ideas on what to do?
  5. Hey everyone, this is my MOC on Obi Wan`s arrival on Utapau, based on the scene of Revenge of the Sith. I also used a custom minifig as the Pau`an that talks to Obi wan as he arrives. Arrival on Utapau Arrival on Utapau
  6. These two preceding photos are to show off my latest MOC (or rather, re-doing of an existing Lego product), what I am calling Darth Vader's Transformation Remix. It's my attempt to somehow improve on the original set that was released way back in 2005. Now, the original set (# 7251) included a few key features: Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker, a brick-built FX-9 Surgical Assistant Droid and the operation table. But, seeing as quite a few people out there have recreated this particular scene with much more detail than was included with the set (i.e., background walls, redone operating table, etc), it seemed a bit lacking. So, I made an attempt to expand on the set by adding a few background wall panels, along with various other bricks that serve as "readouts" outlining Vader's condition. Also, while the colors of the bricks used for the original 7251 were already subdued and grave, I wanted to give the remixed version a more doleful and foreboding color scheme. Hence the use of silver & titanium metallics, med. stone grays and blacks, with some other color bricks thrown in to balance out the darker colors. Another thing is that there are only two wire and cable-like structures near the top of the second panel from the left; this I did in an attempt to make it seem as if the "room" was hastily put together, and the builders placed all of the wires and power cables in safe enough areas except for those two. As a matter of fact, the entire top half of panel two is supposed to represent a shoddily built part of the medical apparatus. Overall, this build is inspired by the Yoda Chronicles Holocron Chamber promotional set. LXF file
  7. This is my version of sydag's wonderful delta-7 model (which you should view here www.flickr.com/photos/sydag/sets/7215765181084275), which also incorporates elements of legorevolution's model (www.flickr.com/photos/legorevolution/albums/7215762721077...). Originally I just built legorevolution's eta-2 as per the instructions, but a while later i found sydag's version of the ship, which blew me further away. I ended up having a cockpit module from legorevolution and the wings from sydag's. But I did this before he produced his instructions and also showed his lovely series of fighters, so parts of the wings were not exactly the same to begin with. For a while I was satisfied and they began collecting dust while I did other things. I can't remember exactly when but in the second half of last year I picked it up again and started putting together obi-wan's red interceptor from the same battle, and the blue one that goes to Utapau. I fiddled with these for a while, but because I didn't have all of the parts I needed for obi-wan's ships, this one was the template for the rest. I basically finished it then, but without sticker details. This weekend I sat down and put those on, and here we have it. I'm quite proud of this one, although it's definitely too big. But that's alright with me because I felt that the movie ships themselves were unrealistically small anyway. So here you have it. Large chunks of this have remained untouched from the source material (in lego), but there are several areas, including the back wing sections, the bottom, and most of the cockpit which I have rearranged to suit my personal preferences. Enjoy ! You can view the rest of photos in the album (www.flickr.com/photos/48109771@N05/sets/72157671270667370). Hello, here is another small build from me, BARC Speeder. There is a Lego spring-loaded shooter under the nose of it. -Samppu
  9. Whats your favourite aspect of the Star Wars prequels? To me it always were the memorable designs of the various ships and land vehicles. Especially Revenge of the Sith with the Venator Class Republic Cruiser as well the Clone Turbo Tank and the AT-AP Walker featured some of the best the trilogy has to offer in my opinion. The only sad thing here is that those designs got barely any screen time in the movie. The AT-AP in particular is actually never seen fully or is ever focused on, the model just walks trough the background in the Battle of Kashyyyk several times. A real shame since its design and functionality is great and really beats all the other smaller walkers in the Star Wars Universe to me. The second System-Scale Version of the AT-AP from Lego was released last year and its a very good set. Only when you look up source material of the Sniper Tank, you will notice some mistakes and flaws in the design. One of the bigger ones, besides the usual wrong colorization and the play features, is that the Engine of Walker is actually missing. Instead the official Lego AT-AP is hollow on the back side and features some sad big gaps all over the place. So the decision to tackle some of those flaws was a fairly easy. First some reference/source material I used for modding the Lego version: And now for my own modded Lego Version: Besides the usual color tweaks, cover ups and gap filling I really tried to seperate the light and dark bluish gray to recreate the sillhouette of those thick armor plates on the front and sides of the walker, while the legs and the engine are uncovered. The gun on top of the main artillery cannon has been changed as well. The springloaded shooter is gone and instead the control console is now where it belongs (Instead being on the ground). Also the cockpit interior got enhanced and stuffed out. The main technic frame is nearly completely covered, there are more controls and greebling, accessory holders and the inside actually connects with the engine to create a more bulky and authentic look. Some pictures of the official Lego model to compare the MOD to: And while we are at comparisons, together with the big one: What do you guys think? Got any feedback or suggestions? And what do you think about the model itself? Would like to hear your thoughts.
  10. Two MOCs in one day! Decided to quickly make a revamped version of the 2005 7521 Darth Vader Transformation set. Minifigures included are Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker, and a Medical Droid. Oh, and the Transformation Droid if that counts. As usual with my MOCs, I made it like an official LEGO set, play-ability all around. Like the original set, you can spin the table to show both Anakin pre-transformation and after. The platform also has two levers that can be turned to rumble the platform and knock off the droids, like the movie. Reference photo - Thanks for looking!
