  1. Hello :D I have made a few decal design I'd like to print or get printed, but I am not sure about what is the best way to do it. Is it better to do it at home? Or is there services I can use? (I live in the UK, in case you have specific services to recommend) Most services online assume you want to print a large number of the same sticker, but it's not my case. I've seen also many people use the "laser printer" technique to print their own stickers at home. Do they turn out durable? Do they have good quality, is the dithering noticeable? In the past I had stickers printed on a PVC sticker sheet, but they were too think and didn't stick enough, so over a few hours they'd just come off round surfaces like minifigure heads. Also, they were very easily scratched, which is not great... If you don't mind sharing photos of your own custom decals, it'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)
  2. Good evening community, Today i want to present our latest realized model. The XII H2 was especially designed for the hilly terrain of saxony. It has been built in Chemnitz between 1910 and 1927. The model consists of approx 1121 parts and it´s about 58 studs long. The model is a customer-wish and it´s designed for a motorization with power-functions as well as powered-up and for sure with the old 9V train-motor. All the electronics like motor, battery-box and IR-reciever take place in the large coal-tender. All the wheels are from Big Ben Bricks. The main wheels are XL-drivers, the wheels on the front-bogie are medium and at the tender are small train wheels. To make this locomotive with the low hanging cylinders suitable for curves, i separated the cylinders horizontally. The upper part is fixed to the main frame and the lower part is connected to the bogie and could swivel left and right. Special attention was paid to the boiler with the golden rings and the golden accents like in the example. The technic to create the boiler rings was taken over from the DR BR 01 of Simon Jakobi (Dr.Snotson). The instruction of the DR BR 38.2-3 is no available on our website. As a speciality i also want to use this opportunity to present our latest news. Since November the 1st we offer different 3D-printed components in our shop too. We offer different rod-designs in various dimensions, as well as rod sets or special components like blind-wheels or customer solutions. This offer is probably most interresting for customers in europe because we´re located in Germany but we ship worldwide too. And here with custom 3D printed parts.
  3. Hi all I have uploaded a new castle ship submission on IDEAS with custom torso designs, shields, flags and more. Please check the link below for better pictures and let me know what you think and if you like it support me :) LEGO IDEAS SUBMISSION - THE BOWMEN GUILD SHIP and OUTPOST An adventure awaits! As the old kingdoms went into war and forced many out of their homes some have decided to form a new guild and set sail for a new adventure! Led by Sir Joe many mercenaries, merchants have joined on a long journey down the river, through the sea, down the river again and some lakes and more rivers and so on... till they have reached a new tropical paradise! Setting up a simple outpost to resupply and rest they have now started to explore a new area. With many having a somewhat bandit history they all agree to use bow and arrow as their main tools and symbol. On their journey they have met a little girl. A self proclaimed princess with a magical flying chicken. Only the girl can understand her and talks about a treasure. That treasure is a magical egg? What will hatch out of it and will they ever find it? Danger ahead! Sharks ,alligators ,venomous insects everywhere they venture. Other lost knights might pose a danger or could join and help with the mission. Includes 6 New Minifigures all with new exclusive torso prints! Bowmen: Sir Joe, Swordsman, Archer, Knight, Princess Aki Other: Lost Ben (falcon knight) & 5 Bowmen printed shields (4x oval) 1x (triangular) - mounted on the ship Set contains: The Flying Chicken (main ship) 38 x 26 x 14 cm ( L x H x W ). There are not many castle ships out there and instead of a castle I have focused on something that has nice playability, looks great, is not too big or small and can have it´s own unique story and a is a new non existing faction. The ship alone has about 540 pieces. And should also have a sail in yellow colour with black cross inside and the bird symbol in the centre but I need to figure out how to make it in designer :) I will update it when I figure it out. or if not I just post a standalone picture of the sail. The ship has a secret storage room under the back section and comes with Bowmen printed Flags. Outpost A simple building standing in the swamp or near water. Has a table, few supplies, secret storage a lookout and a balcony for fishing. Looks great requires only about 200 pieces to build and add a lot of playability to the set. The outpost comes with a plate on the bottom and is removed in some pictures but it definitely must have a plate for stability :) Raft of Lost Ben Basic raft made out of bamboo to survive till help arrives! Additional content The set also includes lots of tools like fishing poles, gold coins, bottles, bags, containers, spyglass, compass, paddles and other accessories. Cancer, rat/mouse, crab, shark/alligator, parrot, chicken, sea star, monkey The whole set is about 822 pieces and should be affordable for the majority of customers and big enough to be a complete standalone product that can expand the existing LEGO themes and connect to their existing stories. I love designing this set and as much as I would love to make it huge I had set a target that I don´t want to produce a set that will be unreachable for many castle fans. I also tried to be true to LEGO official sets and also don´t "overdo" with tiles to cover studs etc. And off-course to limit the piece count! In the end I want it to be really affordable, playable and easy to build. No weak points and illegal connections and no falling off pieces too! :) maybe just a drunken knight might fall in the water after too much ale! :) All of these designs are my original content and builds except the little falcon logo on a customized falcon knight torso. I wanted to connect to an existing castle storyline. For the sake of copyrights that can be removed if necessary and replaced with a "generic" knight. But I assume the Falcon logo is a LEGO original design =) I wish LEGO will finally revive a castle storyline or choose a castle set for Ideas and well .. may it be this one :). If you like my design please share it and support it. I am still working on the ship design (sails and the holders) so you can post your suggestions but basically I wanted to include an rolled sail but that is not really possible in studio. I will add a picture I have also built the first prototype of the boat which is a bit smaller and different from the final submission. Thank you all ♥
  4. Hey everyone, this is my first thread on here! The LEGO bug recently bit me to the point I did a forum search for topics about self printed stickers but could not find one. So are there any good resources/tips on that? Are there Photoshop sheets to print for common brick/plate sizes? I saw a Youtube video of .svg files for brick borders and that gets picked up by a professional cutting machine? Are most "normal" folks using common paper and then wrapping that with Tesa tape top and doublesided tape bottom or are there other techniques? If sticker paper is used, are there most often used brands? what about transparent ones? (I own a Samsung color laser printer, pretty cheap model but it does its job) Also are there sites that offer sticker clipart from already existing sets? Thanks for any pointers!
  5. Captain Britain

    Lego Print Quality

Hi fellow Eurobrick chaps! Hopefully this is the right place to start the discussion? I did this over on Flickr recently after opening a few sets at the weekend and had a fair few people agree, so I thought I'd ask it over here too! Do you think the quality of print on Lego is slipping a little recently? I haven't noticed it much in the past other than some Captain America shields being pretty light on the white print etc, but I've recently picked up a few bits and seem to find more faults recently than ever. Over the last month or so I've had issues with: IG-88's head, Captain Americas shield, Ms Marvels head and legs, Vultures helmet, Spider-Mans torso and Batgirls torso. I'm sure I'm a little bit picky compared to what a kid might think when he opens up the packet as I'm a collector for display purposes only, but we shouldn't have to put up with bad printing should we? Lego have happily replaced all parts I've had issues with recently, but the last batch were a bit more troublesome, and I had to provide numerous details, receipts etc before they would release them, but they did this pretty quick. Interested to hear from everyone else!
  6. Hello Everyone ! Long story short : After i watched Lego Batman the movie i wanted to see if the robe was real or only virtual. It was only virtual. So i decided i was going to make it real. Here is the preview of the file opened in Inkscape : Result once on the minifigure : Progress from the prototype to the last version : And here is the PNG file to print in A4 format : It took some time and work to do, so i hope you will apreciate and enjoy it. 7. Hi Guys! This topic is where I will be adding updates to the new parts that I make available via Shapeways. There is also a FB page where I'll be posting new designs. For a bit of personal history, I work in the architectural field and 3D modeling has been a passion for the last 12 years. When I finally had a family of my own, I rediscovered the boxes of LEGO I carefully stored from the 80's. Not long after, I decided to combine the two things I enjoy doing: Technic and 3D. Here are some of the parts that are already size approved and available: The GoPro Adapter is the only product that is available pre-printed on Bricklink in a very limited quantity. Since my intention is not to sell via this thread, you can find more details on the Facebook page in my signature.
  8. After many months of work, I am happy to present you Hint lab ! I would love to get your input on my work :) Why ? You know it better than anyone, many people have a strong emotional attachment to our little bricks. They remind us of our childhood, they represent creative thinking etc. Lego bricks can be found in almost every home around the world. They come in many shapes and colors that make them ideal for customization and assortment. I realized a lot of people like to match their accessories to their outfits. Matching shoes to shirt, bag to watch... I wish to associate these ideas together. So I present you : Hint Lab. Hint lab is a range of jewelry in precious metal and nylon that allow you to wear Lego bricks and match them to your outfit. More HD photos here. What do you think of it ? Do you think there is a market for this kind of products ? I want to improve the range, do not hesitate to tell me if you have any suggestion :)
  9. *sorry for any grammar mistake, English is not my mother language. Hello everybody. So, I've always been intrigued with the idea of making pieces in colors that LEGO hadn't released. Painting or dying pieces wouldn't satisfy me though, I want as few differences from the original pieces as possible. So, I was considering making castings with silicone (there are many videos on YT) and melting LEGO pieces for the plastic. I know, LEGO has plenty of expensive machines that inject hot plastic at high pressure, but I wanted to try nonetheless. I wanted to ask you if you have any tips or information, or if you know of someone who tried something like this. There are many persons who tried making lego pieces, but I know of noone trying to do it with actual lego plastic. At what temperature do lego pieces melt? (here they say 105°C) Will they burn before they melt? What are differences between the different plastics used by LEGO? (Like transparent pieces not being made of ABS plastic) What are the dangers (like poisoning) when attempting something like this? How much will it take to the plastic to cool down and solidify? Will it solidify while casting it in the mold? Is there any reason why the result might be not satisfactory? I heard of someone who melt lego plastic with acetone and then used it for castings, it didn't end well. I wanted to try a purple Miru Mata (worn by Damek the Matoran), post your thoughts.
  10. Hello everyone! Searched the forum for an answer about this, but could not find an answer. So before I read up on the Brasso/ toothpaste/ eraser technique, I made a mistake by trying to remove paint from a torso with a Swiss Army blade (I know, I know bad move) and it left behind some scratches and is no longer glossy. Is this part ruined? Can I use some kind of polish compound to bring back its shine or maybe use a spray clear coat? Thanks so much for the help, truly appreciated :)
  11. I thought we could use a forum to share decals, since we have people making forums to share MOCs and the like. Feel free to share any decals you made or good decals you found. Here are two of mine: Po Nudo (Separatist Aqualish senator) Guardian of the Inner Sanctum (Voss - TOR species)
