  1. Hello everyone 1- I hope this subject is in the right place. 2- Sorry for my bad english I think you all have at one time or another during a construction, wanted to have a room that does not exist to carry out your project. So, you've probably imagined several over the years. 1- I imagined myself to create several in recent days (others to come) You can find them on Flickr HERE you can react on what you see. 2- Would you like to propose some already, in 3D or other? I opened a group for: - the techniques, - tutorials - new coins 1 month ago on Flickr HERE 3- Do you have any ideas? => Could you describe by embellishing an image that you would like to have? I can try to create on request if my limitation 2D (photoshop) allows it. By the way for your information, I also realized baseplates that are on Flickr. I would like your opinions, your reactions, your proposals ... TYVM Some exemples:
  2. I ordered some pieces on BrickLink and this one piece looks different than the other pieces that were obviously real Lego. This piece has "BL" logos on the studs instead of "LEGO" and there is no text on the bottom. The piece also feels different when connected to genuine Lego pieces. As this piece was ordered on BrickLink, the "BL" makes me a bit confused, though I believe Bricklink wouldn't intentionally make a fake Lego piece. Any thoughts?
  3. In a previous post I explained how a tan half-gear in this piece was having its axle pulled out of it, while the axle drills through the gear making it unusable. After a first attempt fix, the car drove good without any clicks, but under high torque, the same exact thing happened... Here's the issue: When under high torque, the half-gear to the right unnaturally gets pulled out, while the axle chews the inside of the gear. The gears here are part of a DNR shifter alike to the one in the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. One thing I'd like to note is that when shifted to reverse, the problem disappears, meaning that there is a structural problem where the drive gear (bent gear) is. Here's a picture with the panels removed... I've tried my best with this and I would really appreciate helpful advice from the experts who have worked through this before. Thank you.
  4. Just building my MOC and I found out pieces I thought were in great condition are forming cracks already. 1. I thought only grey pieces were prone to these types of cracks, I was wrong. 2. Lots and lots of broken grey pieces. Almost every piece I have like this now has a crack. 3. Here's the same pieces but showing the cracks on the other side. 4. U-joints are just so easy to break. 5. I even broke one of these. 6. To test the durability of this piece (which some I have are in the earliest phase of cracking) I put an axle halfway through, put pressure on it, and the piece's "axle inserter" snapped. Trying to stay positive, but this is really holding back my builds. Wish I could find some way to prevent this from easily happening or if the cracking is a defect with the part. Is anybody else experiencing cracking with pieces where you put in axle? Would like some feedback from the community, thank you.
  5. Hi everyone, just wondering if the Brick, Modified 1 x 2 x 2/3 with Studs on Sides (4595) front lens piece is able to connect to studs? Thanks
  6. Hi Lego enthusiasts, I recently noticed that the seagull from the collectible minifigure series 10 (Sea Captain) does not have the Lego logo mark on it. Is it because it's a soft piece? I think other Lego animals like goats do not have a Lego mark either, if I'm not mistaken. However, this is a hard piece. Is it possible to make a list with (modern) Lego pieces that do not have the Lego logo on them? It would help alot to see if a piece is not really Lego and therefore fake/counterfeit or not. The reason for why the logo is missing, remains unclear to me. It can be dangerous because you often see Chinese BrickLink stores (a country known for its factory facilities) with a massive amount of pieces you would assume are rare or hard to get. No Lego logo on piece - Seagull (col min series 10) - ... - ... Thanks a lot R.

    Rare Part Finds?

Hi, I am not really sure where to put this (and if an admin sees this please move it to the right topic), but does anyone want to share an interesting part find? (e.g. rare parts in bulk lots) For me, I once found two working Spybotics modules and remotes in a $12 a pound lot. I also found the rare brown dishes from the old Droid Transporter set.
  9. Is there any way to remove any scratches or other blemishes to restore shine from any LEGO part by means of using a suitable polish for plastic? Usually when I find mixed parts in bags/boxes at thrift shops for instance, they usually have scratches as a result of being moved or shaken.

    Solid Hull that floats?

Hi everyone, I don't post much on here but I wanted to get some feedback on something that has been 'floating' in the back of my mind since I was a child. I'm a huge fan of the Lego pirate ships and all lego boats for that matter. Particularly the series of boats that float with the use of one solid plastic hull piece. In the beginning these hulls were rather small and have grown larger over the year; the "City Lines" cargo ship being the largest solid plastic hull piece made by Lego. Now I've been a long time fan of the grand lego ships since the Black Seas Barracuda and as a child I always wanted to be able to have the grand ship float along side me while swimming in our family pool. I know many lego builders would shun at having their lego get wet but Lego is a near indestructible toy and it would be fun I think! kids would get a kick out of it. So I was thinking of something similar to this: As you can see the hull would be a rather large solid plastic brown piece but compatible with Lego bricks. I have never seen anything accomplished with this and I may have to make a prototype myself. What does everyone think of this idea? Would you be interested in a solid lego galleon hull? Perhaps the float-able hulls could be sectioned into pieces thus allowing the creator to make the hull shorter or longer depending? I just think there could be a lot of fun with this if only it existed.

    Custom Chrome Pieces?

Does anyone know of a website or BR seller that makes custom chrome parts? Like custom pieces that are chrome, official LEGO pieces not normally made in chrome, or in different chrome colors that LEGO does not make.

Good translucent pieces for the Lanterns.

Just a quick discussion...I was planning on buying the Ninjago set 70752 Jungle Trap so that I could use the translucent green sword pieces for my Green Lantern. I now realize that there are way more translucent green pieces than yellow and that Sinestro only has his one sword-thing. Anyway, are there any good translucent pieces (specifically yellow) like weapons or just normal bricks for the Lanterns to use?
  13. Over the years, I've seen several discussions about what a good price/piece ratio is for LEGO, and $0.10 (US) per brick/piece seems to be what most people consider the general rule for standard system LEGO. I haven't had any luck finding similar discussions or a general rule for DUPLO, though. I was wondering what the general consensus is, then. What do you consider a good price per brick ratio to be for DUPLO? Are there any resources to find sets that are a good value? Thanks for your help!
  14. After looking at some of my LotR characters I decided I would go one step further in making them stand out by giving them hair pieces. The problem is I am not sure which are the best hair options. The main characters I am looking at right now are Eomer and Theoden. Eomer in particular needs to stand out because the cloak alone just isn't doing it for me. I have tons of other minifigures with his face, torso, and helm serving as generic Rohan Soldiers and the cloak is the only thing I use to differentiate Eomer from them. Theoden is already pretty unique with his brown and gold armor but I would like a hair piece for him as well when he isn't all geared up. What have others found to be the best hair piece for these two characters? I was looking some up on BL and it seems the female hair pieces are the best for Eomer as he has fairly long hair? Which is the closest match to his hair in the movie though? I also would like to find some better hair for Gandalf and Lurtz if anyone has any good suggestions for them, though they aren't as important. Their current hair doesn't really look that good and I am sure there are better options out there.

    What's your favourite lego part?

So, what is your favourite Lego part? Mine has got to be: http://www.brickset....s/?part=4654582 as it is so versatile when doing SNOT work. It opened up lots more possibilities when MOCing! What's yours?
