TC27 Aussie Overlander/Tradie vehicle
CrazyKreations posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hey everyone, CrazyKreations Here is my entry into the Tc27 Moc Competition, an Aussie pickup truck with a camper trailer! We have always wanted to create a small-scale truck with 4WD, Control Plus and a special rear tray that replaces the traditional ute bed, giving this truck a more Australian style. In WA there are sooooooo many of these beautiful vehicles that go offroad every single day! (they are just pavement princesses) I wanted to add my spin on the classic pickup truck and show how this purpose-built vehicle is useful and cool, so please follow the thread below everyone, I would really appreciate it! I want to have at least the basic features below: Opening Doors, Partially opening hood Springless Front Torsion Bar suspension with inbuilt motor for steering Springless Rear reinforced axle using Torsion Bars 4-wheel drivetrain with locked differentials Multiple front bumper attachments, (3+ different bumpers to choose from) Snorkel Running Boards Fog Lights Detailed Interior Tradie tray with 5+ opening compartments including a; slide-out drawer 4 opening compartments Large canopy with separated sections for storage Slide out coffee machine and table that folds out of the tray. (Yes, it's a must) I have a few photo examples of the sort of design that I am going for and one of them looks like this: Anyway, I have this week off and next off, so I will use this time to build as much as possible and update you guys. So, my first update is the axles I am using... I wanted to incorporate springless suspension because it is more compact and also is better for the weight of the vehicle as all the attachments will make the vehicle a bit too heavy at the back. The front and rear axles are here below, I'll probably update the chassis later today or maybe tomorrow actually but please stay tuned. (I have time on my hands so I decided to put this image through Canva and mesh it into 1) Both axles are around 13 studs wide and fit the wheels that the competition allows.- 55 replies

[TC5] Pickup truck - 9393 alternative
petcz posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello everyone, this is my C-model for set 9393. It was created for [TC5] Technic C-Model Contest. I've used 343 parts out of 362 (including spare parts). It is a pickup truck with dump cargo bed with V4 engine under the hood. There were high demands from the client (my 4 years old son) on the functionality. Features: HOG + steering wheel (working simultaneously) opening doors (simple "lock" - half of the axle 4 fits in the door case - a small force has to be applied) opening hood (simple "lock" - beam 2x4 is locked by cross block 1x3 - a small force has to be applied) opening cargo bed soft chassis to simulate independent suspension 2nd HOG for dumping cargo bed and/or rotating axle for attachable accessories (disable dumping by shifting gear 8 aside from the worm gear) large attachable winch special "parking feature" for overcrowded cities :-) HOG + steering wheel, doors, hood and cargo bed opening Soft chassis Dumping cargo bed Attachable accessories And finally - smart parking :-) additional info on my web pages: http://lego.vanecek....del=9393-pickup pet- 8 replies

Hello everyone, let me introduce my latest creation. Ever since I get 42093 corvette I had an idea to disassemble it and use all this parts to create something playable and offroad capable. This 1:15 model of legendary F-150 truck was made with Power Functions elements and Sbrick for future truck trial competion or just for indoor fun (because of the weight (1250 g) I think this is not very competitive truck). It was a long project for me because of time constraints so I had started it before LEGO release their bigger one. This model has 4WD transmission with 2 L-motors driving each axle separetly (driving ratio - 3,5:1), servo motor for steering. Front suspension is independent double wishbone, rear is live axle with panara link. The model has openable doors, sunroof, hood and tailgate. Instructions in pdf were made in Stud io (my first experience with this software so it took a long time). Link for instructions: https://reb.li/m/93403 Also I created some additional color options with available parts. I hope to add instructions for those and the video with the orignal orange one later.

They call those who ride them "rednecks". But while you may ponder whether the setup like this is an overkill or not, a pickup mounted on 10' wheels is a thing to remember no matter the circumstances. Features: ► forward/reverse drive ► separately-driven L6 turbocharged Diesel engine with moving pistons and cooling fan ► steering ► differential and gearing for speed ► simplified cockpit with steering wheel and IR-receiver seats. ► opening cab doors and hood ► exhaust stack ► details such as radiator with grille, front and rear lights, bull bar and reinforced bumpers, roof rack with extra floodlights, rear view mirrors, desert safety flag and fenders 42030 C-model, uses more than 80% of set's parts (loose assumption). 42 studs long and heavy. Despite its weight and only one XL motor as means of propulsion, it has a quite decent speed - it picks up (pun intended) a huge momentum - and an impressive turning radius. Engine is separately powered by L motor. Steering is much like in a video game, where both reverse and brakes are controlled by the same button. Unsuspected bonus: by accident, the bed is perfectly shaped to hold the RC control unit which consists of two RC pilots with a standard RC-car additions. The set's M motor lies dormant, waiting to be used on some extra function I can't currently come up with. It'd be hard to craft the instructions in LDD, but I'll try one day.

[WIP] Small Scale Pickup Truck Chassis
A Gallifreyan Cat posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
A few of you may have seen my earlier post about an axle, and this is where it has ended up. This is a chassis for a long wheelbase, lifted pickup truck. It features 4 wheel drive, steering, and solid axle suspension with coil shocks in the front and leaf springs in the back. Soon I will be building a Ford F-250 body for it. But enough talk, here are some pictures. Front axle, with panhard bar: Rear axle and leaf springs: Comments, criticisms, and suggestions are welcome!- 13 replies

Been away from building for a while; work and BF3CQ kept me all too busy. But I couldn't help myself picking up the pieces and build a Lego house something. Somehow it puts my mind at ease and makes me relaxed... Anyway, here you go, without further delay: Piston; a hover pickup truck inspired by 'Retro-futurism'. More shots can be found at my Flickr Gallery Comments and critisiscm welcome.
