  2. Inspired by the modular Fire brigade Fire engine and modification to the Palace Cinema Limousine, I have gotten another idea to build a simple vehicle for the Parisian Restaurant modular theme. Sharing my 6 studs wide build - 1955 Ford Thunderbird Convertible (First Generation). 3. Parisian Restaurant is one of my favourite modular building, but unfortunately, it doesn't fit to my LEGO city. I have larger buildings and PR is just too small comparing to them. So, I've decided to build a modification. I've seem plenty of nice mods online. People usually just made the building longer or higher. Although hey had a nice result, they've changed the ratios of the original building's body. I wanted to keep this because the original set is so nice. The result is: I've built a corner building from three Parisian Restaurant. I've left the stairs from the right and the terrace from the back. I've kept the original form of the body of the building I've attached them with own-designed parts, including the corner part. And as a minor update, I've changed the windows of the roof at the front. It still has the grids with a sticker from 70413, but also has glass in it. It was a little challenging to design whole new building parts which match great to this amazing LEGO set. I've tried to use similar decorations and details. Now, the ground floor of this building gives place for the Chez Albert restaurant and also for a book store. Referring the book store (literature) and the statues of the corner, the name of the building is Pallas Palace. I hope you'll like my creation. Please tell your opinion and leave a comment below. Thank you! (Note: I didn't build the street yet, so the area of the house is a little incomplete.)
  4. Hi All, Here's my 3 x Modular combo review of the Grand Emporium, Pet Shop and Parisian Restaurant. As I was doing some re-organizing of our LEGO I decided to do an overview of these 3 really nice sets. The full overview with detailed images here http://www.boxtoy.co...s-GE-PS-PR.html I really enjoyed looking back at these sets along with taking the pictures so I hope everyone enjoys it. Do feel free to comment and feedback. Tobysan
  5. Hello fellow AFOL, I'd need your assistance. I'm thinking about buying the 10243 Parisian Restaurant but I'm not sure if it would be the perfect choice. Don't misunderstand me, I know it's an impressive set and, with 2469 pieces, it's not even an expensive one ( price per brick, speaking ) I also have 20€ of VIP points to redeem, plus the current 5% discount, so I would buy it for a very interesting price. However I'm currently working on the creation of Brickfilms and Lego comics so I was wondering if it could have a role in those projects, instead of simply be a display piece (even though a great one) I noticed the "rooms" are not very large so I'm not sure if 10243 could be a great set for Brickfilms, comics, dioramas etc. Thank you very much for your assistance. I never saw the set in person (only in photos/videos) so any advice would help me in making a decision Thanks again

    Restaurant 'Le Parisien'

Built for the Lowlug contest 'Modular MOC Madness', this Lego modular building combines the theme of the Parisian restaurant set with my own take on a Parisian building. Walking in Paris a week ago, I noticed that almost all buildings were made of sandstone, and thus tan in colour, and none of them in the colours olive and white. So I made my own Parisian restaurant. The layout is reminiscent of the Green Grocer, the business being reached from the street and the apartments from a separate larger entrance. The lower floor has the restaurant, with kitchen and restroom; the second floor has an apartment with bedroom and bathroom; the third floor is not furnished but could also be used as an apartment. The exterior: Some details: The different floors: Interior: Apartment: Backside: More on Flickr.
