  1. It is based on a Ginaf HD 5395 and I chose it due how rare ti is, it looks like it is between a mining and a normal tipper truck, icing on the cake was that fifth driven and steered axle, the challenge was inevitable . It has openable cabin doors and bonnet. Tiltable cabin that hide the 6 in line fake engine. 5 axles, 2 are steered, 2 are drive axles and the last one is a drive and steered axle. All the drive axles have its diff and are connected to the engine. The steering axles are controled by 2 HOG on both sides behind the cabin. The tiltable bed woks with a long linear actuator operated with a lever that has to be used between the first and second axles, they are a hole for it on both sides of the truck. The gate of the bed has two movable connectors to close it. It is a totally modular MOC so it can be easily improved. I hope you like it, I will post a video and I put a couple of pics more to see it better. Here with the 42112 to see better the real size. And now with my other 2023 MOC (if I do not promote myself... ). Ok, ok the last one... Thank you for comment. The WIP thread is here Ginaf HD 5395 Video here Ginaf HD 5395 Video
  2. It is been a while without building, so good for me whatever it ends... It will be a 10x6 truck with 3 steered axles, the last one is the rare one, I do not know if it will be motorized or not, pneumatic or not, I do not know much so I just keep building. I discarted using bigger wheels because it would be too large but who knows...

    [MOC] Terra Station Z

Terra Station Z is a space station which be used for researching ores. Inside the Ore Research Centre, there are several research devices and robotic devices for splitting ores. Theres also an motorized conveyor belt for transporting the ores inside the station. Theres also a communication centre, for communication with spaceships and controlling/monitoring drones. This was a part of our Lowlug community Neo Classic Space layout. 01_Terra_Station_Z by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr 02_Terra_Station_Z by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr 08_Terra_Station_Z by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr 11_Terra_Station_Z by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr 13_Terra_Station_Z by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr 14_Terra_Station_Z by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr Pictures also on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mathijslegofan/albums/72177720311251724/with/53191969795/
  4. First of all I started this MOC just due the audi 42160 wheels. I bought mine one week ago so I do not have them yet... that is why I am using the zetros wheels. They are a little bit wider so I think the new ones will fit perfectly if I do not have any surprises with the measures... For now we have a manual MOC with pendular suspension, two diffs, gearbox to alternate between the two functions of the arm and a simple steering mechanism. I am being faster that I use to be because I started it last thursday so I am quite happy with the result until now. My next goals are choose the reference machine that could be a caterpillar 992 or 988 and based on that do it the corresponding engine a v12 or V8, I also think to do another little gearbox if I have enough room to operate the machine more faster without load but I hope not to have room enough . Problems right now are that the machine has more travel that the real one in comparison... but it is a small problem because I usually see just the opposite problem and that is a serious problem for me at least...

    [MOC] M.U.L.E-Koma

"Rock and Raid!" Marchikoma 2023: M.U.L.E-Koma by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Just a fun triple mashup I thought about, mixing the M.U.L.E from the game Deep Rock Galactic with the Tachikoma shaping for extra crystal storage space, then giving it the iconic Rock Raiders colours to go even deeper with the mining theme!
  6. Building B-models between major projects has become quite normal for me. Such a break and playing only with Technic bricks is a very good way to reset my mind 😊 This time it was the 42114 set and the Mining Dump Truck was created as an alternative model, for the excavator from the 42100 set. The plan to build this vehicle from the 42114 set appeared a few months ago. I put it off for later, because I thought I wouldn't have enough panels to build a nice dump box. Over the weekend, I sat down with bricks and in a few hours the first version of the tipper was created. I liked it so much that the final version differs from the prototype only with minor changes. The biggest difficulty in building this model was its size of frame. When planning, I insisted that the model must use the original app, because that could be easily configured and played with it immediately. The machine has double wheels on the rear axle, so the frame basically contains the engines, gearbox, and a rear axle. In addition, the set has only long actuators so placing them in the dumper was also not easy. At the end, everything was packed into a pretty nice model, which uses over 78% of the set elements. The tipper was supposed to look good with the R9800 excavator from the 42100 set. So I scaled the Liebherr T282 to 1:42 scale and built the model on it. The appearance of the dump truck is a combination of the previously mentioned Liebherr and CAT 793F. It is not an exact copy, but there are similarities. Building instructions: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-76959/M_longer/42114-mining-dump-truck/ Check out photos and a short video presenting the model's functions: Video:
  7. I want to build something inspired by this beast, although my yellow panel collection is rather light on, so it will be in black/LBG. Here is my progress so far: and under side shot: There is currently: 1 PU L motor for drive. 1 PU L motor for steering. And 1 PF M motor for tilting the bed using these pieces https://rebrickable.com/parts/32039/technic-axle-connector-with-axle-hole/71/ I am planning for it to powered by buwizz 3.0

    [MOC] Xerion Mining Corporation

Back in 2015, Ive started to build the Core Mining Unit. That's a mining unit which will be used by the Xerion Mining Corporation. The Xerion Mining Corporation is a group of miners and researchers who discover new planets to search and mine ores. I've finished this MOC in 2018. The Core Mining Unit is a modular mining vehicle, which can be used in various mining and exploration missions. The vehicle have several modules: Drill, magnet crane, transport module for a small spaceship, sattelite launch module, laser cutter, tool module. The cabin contains a small speeder. Core Mining Unit modules: Several configurations: More pictures: More pictures at Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mathijslegofan/albums/72157718769903438 I hope you like it
  9. Hello everyone: I am glad to share this project, the mining excavator, based on Cat 6090. Phisycal Configuration: The Lego Cat6090 is a motorized digger on tracked wheels, 2 XL motors provided enough torque. On the track frame is placed the main structure, and a heavy duty turntable allows good rotations, without fricctions. The turntable is rotated by means of 1 XL motor. The main structure contains: the XL motor for turntable, the air compressor, 4 servos for pneumatic valves and the controller. The design is ultra compact in order to meet the requierement of size/scale. The tracked whell is ultra rigid structure, designed to resist extreme load. The air compressor has 4 XL motor and 2 pneumatic pumps, in order to provide a constant air flow and high pressure, both pumps are de-phased 180° in order to reduce vibrations. 4 PF-servos open/close 2 way air valves, to command all pneumatic actuators. The boom has 2 large pneumatic actuator. Due to heavy height of the boom, 4 spring supply extra force during the elevation. 2 large pneumatics actuators push/pull the arm, those actuators are placed below the arm. 2 large penumatics actuators dedicate to rotate the bucket. 1 medium pneumatic actuator, open/close the bucket. Electrical configuration: Three 18650 batteries provide an average of 11.1 V, the compressor are suplied with 11.1 V, and the servos, lights and turntable motor are suplied with 9V. A BMS (Battery Managment System) manages the charge and the discharge durgin the operation. The tracked frame is steering by the use of 11.1 V, and as well is manage by the use of a BMS. On Board System (OBS): The name given to the controller. There are two systems, one for the main structure, and the secund is used to move the tracked well. The main controller, is a server TCP/IP protocol. The controller has a ESP8266 microcontroller with a TCP/IP stack, this controller is able to be programmed in arduino languaje (also micropython) - Teh ESP8266 is used as a sever, Motor driver: used to control the compressor The 4 PF servos are controlled by means of digital outputs, and the lights. ld293d, this is a H-bridge used to control the turntable motor. The second controller, is a ESP8266 as a client, and controls the speed of the tracks. Also, it has a BMS in order to regulates the charges/discharge of the batteries Accessories: 1) Josyticks: Two joysticks, with 4 dof (degrees of freedom) each of one plus a on/off button, are connected to the server module. 2) App: An application developmented under Android studio is used to visualizate the air pressure and electrical current, this app is WIP (work in progress). Conectivity: The comunication used is socket TCP/IP- Main features: maximun pressure reached: 52 psi (358 Kpa) Voltage bus: 11.1 V Compressor electrical consuption: 23 W Weight: 6 kg Length: 30 cm width: 20 cm height: 30 cm Here some pictures, during the construction and commissioning Note: my apologies for my primitive english
  10. I was not happy enough with my previous version so I had to improve it and I think I achieved it. With less pieces, around 1040, it is still RC with better playability due to the servo used for the steering, it has a better rear suspension, it is more modular and less ugly . I already have the instructions but I do not know yet what color use... I hope you like.
  11. It will be a front shovel or a excavator or both. My challenge is not to have reference, I want to do it strong and playable with the less pieces I can. I started with the tracks and it was not easy at all... all the weight rest over the six small wheels to have less friction on the track gears and you can take off easy the turntable, each undercarriage and the center part. I would like to know if the small tracks will be a good idea to move the machine, I think I will have to do a test with a lot of weight to test it. I did not like at all the 42100 tracks because they are too big I wanted mine just 9 studs high. I still have a lot of work to do so I am quite happy.

    [MOC] Rock Raiders Mining Mech

Hello! Do you remember Rock Raiders series? In my opinion that theme had a big potential. This time I'm glad to present you my variation of Rock Raiders crew's mining mech. That mech is bigger than last one. Needs more power and weight to mine all important minerals. [MOC] Endarmire Iron Mine

During the 19th century, steam was the primal and most important source for machinery and vehicles. Besides steam-powered vehicles, mechanics developed clockwork machinery. Interesting and very usefull machinery were the result of the developing. The miners are mining in the Endarmire Iron Mine. They’re searching for iron. The mechanics use the iron to build (mining) machinery. The Endarmire Iron Mine is a large mine, which contains lots of iron and other ores. In the workshop, three mechanics are assembling clockwork drones. The drones going mining for iron. A large mineshaft brings the miners and drones into the mine. The conveyor belt brings the crates, filled with iron, outside the mine. The conveyor belt and mine shaft are motorized. In the center of the layout is a ore-cruncher. There are two docks for flying transport vehicles. 14. Like I said in this topic Z-bar linkage help, I am building another wheel loader. This time is the Caterpillar 990 which is the biggest one I can build because the bigger ones like the 992, 993 or 994 have two cylinders for the bucket and it would be impossible keep the width in scale. It uses the Class tyres and in the beginning it had to be manual but I have so many room that I am thinking on a complete pneumatic RC loader. I hope you like the WIP process every advice is wellcome. I am trying wheels, should I have to buy the yellow ones?.
  15. This is a suction jet dredge I designed on LDD. I work on one of these things as a mechanic. The movement of the ship is controlled by six anchors, attached to the winches on the front, on both sides and on the back of the ship. It's not fully finished yet. I still need to build the compressor that provides pressure for the suction head. If you got any comments, questions or tips, shoot! :) thanks The two generators and the jet pump: The screening deck: The control room: The suction jet head: Lowering the suction pipe with the winch: Extending the suction pipe with the other winch: The movement of the pipe is controlled by two winches. You can see how the system works on the following screenshots: Lowering the pipe with the upper winch (orange): Extending the pipe with the lower winch (yellow):

    [MOC] Mining Outpost

Hi everyone, Last year someone asked me if I was planning to build a layout based on the Space miner from the Collectable minifigures. I thought that was a nice idea and during Lego World in the Netherlands previous year I received a lot of Bricklink part 30022. I had no idea what to do with that until my neighbor was creating a big triangle with three of those parts. That is where my idea started to create a tower for the outpost. To give a better image of the tower. I show you a picture from the side. More pictures of the outpost are in my Flickr album,. In the Flickr album are more Space MOCs. The last four pictures are from the outpost. Flickr album Various Space Creations Feedback and questions are welcome. Sander
  19. This type of geared type loco is called a "Shay" (specifically a type "A", which means two pistons and two trucks) and were named after their original inventor of the type, Ephraim Shay. These loco's could only go about 20 miles per hour (or about 32 Kilometers per hour, if that's your thing) at top speed, and were very steady on rough track, hauling logging and mining trains up grades that would easily stall conventional steamer types. You can read more about Shay geared steam locomotive's at Wikipedia. Please NOTE: The design of the original Shay I redid into my version was by Stephan Pakbaz over on Flickr, as seen below. (His LDD file allowed me to build my version) as seen here. The 1 x 1 tiles on either side of the coal bunker are supposed to be printed with the number "4" The Shay type only has pistons on one side, with the other side being kinda sparsely decorated. Usually, their would be various accessories and such on this side, but i liked it better devoid of any clutter. The Shay geared steam loco bends in a odd way... but at least it works. NOTE: The angle shown is quite a bit more severe curve than the loco will ever have to handle.... but it looks pretty cool! This raw ore car was modeled after a custom Brick Link item by @wildchicken13 except mine is narrower and uses two wheels for a Wild West flair. You can see the original item that inspired me here. The caboose follows my standard pattern for my Western trains, with only a few color swaps and a missing cupola on top to set it apart from the others. Here we see the mining train consisting of four silver ore cars and a caboose, without the Shay. This is my latest (and most likely last) Western styled train, and it will join my other four steamers and their trains in my Wild West collection sometime later in 2018. (The reason I say "last" is that I've run out of railroad-related ideas for my Wild Western layout and am planning on focusing on the updated Native American camp, revised Fort Legoredo and the remaining frontier town buildings after this.) As you may have suspected, the ore the mining train holds comes from my well-protected silver mine, which can be seen in it's own topic. ...and as usual, comments, questions, complaints and suggestions are always welcome!
  20. Hello to everyone. I'd like to present a new project. I'm building an Underground Mining Loader. The idea came to me two years ago when Lego released the set Mine Loader (42049). By the time, I was expecting this to be the flagship model (1H) of that year, but it turned out to be a medium-size model. So I built my own. I took parts mainly from my Volvo Loader (42030) and built a version with a much lower profile. The result was ugly but functional. It's being on a corner getting dust. A couple of weeks ago I took this Moc apart and I'm rebuilding it from scratch. I'm not showing the "original" because it's really ugly. I hope I can make a decent model, something between good-looking and functional. Although most of the ideas come from the previous Moc, the "improved version" it's proving to be a difficult job. I think it would take a couple of weeks to finish the improved version. Here're some pictures from the first part. I'm happy with the results. I think 1/5 of the job is done. Disclaimer: I'm not trying to replicate a specific machine, but I have taken inspiration from the Caterpillar portfolio Thank you for your time. ****Pictures of the final model**** Lateral access to motor. For maintenance purposes, I guess. Hardly noticeable IR receivers ;) Easy access to motor. Cabin with chair and control panel. No floor. Easy access to battery and cables. You can also accommodate the rechargeable battery.
  21. My goal as usual is a strong and playable MOC, I think it will have steering, fake engine and a pneumatic tilting bed. I am not sure with the suspension, it works fine but I don´t like having it only on the front wheels. I like the sturdy and narrow rear axle and the parts that prevent the axle of the front wheels from sliding in.
  22. I have nothing physical but if I have the idea. I know it is no original but I like wheel loaders . I did my calculations and using new class wheels I can build a huge but simple wheel loader a komatsu wa1200, caterpillar 994 or a leturneau. They are gigants wheel loaders and the problem I had is that their wheels are so huge that in proportion the body it had to be so tight that I could´t put anything, with new wheels I think I can build a big and simple MOC with few parts, my goal is that it had a Lego set style. Here you can see these beautiful machines, they are perfects for me they have small cabins for a bad cabin builder . As you can see their wheels are even bigger than a new large pneumatic cylinder.

    Custom LEGO Mining Truck

Hello! I want to share with my custom LEGO mining truck. Gold mine needs a lot of trucks. And I decided to build one. This MOC is easy to build and you don't need a lot of bricks to make it. I like all official mining sets and I am waiting for some new. Do you like my new MOC?
  24. Not too long ago, a group of prospectors took a stab at a bit of Fuerte Unido terrain on Isla de la Victoria. They found silver and were eager to commence operations... but unfortunately that wasn't so easy. With all the excitement of the Marderian war, able-bodied men were scarce in Fuerte Unido in those days. And able-brained engineers were even scarcer... so this is what happened: Run! No use leaving a nugget behind though, if it comes quickly to hand! This build pretty well exhausted my supply of tan slopes... particularly inverted slopes. I left the top open mostly to let the light in for photography... you're welcome to assume that it's a cut out, or you can assume that that's the way the actual mine is. Whatever floats your boat. Fortunately, it looks like all five miners escaped. One last shot of the interior! Well, I finally got around to this... pretty enjoyable, though just because of the fact that it's a mine shaft I feel like there's so much detail that doesn't come across in the pictures! The crack in the side technique was pretty much borrowed from Captain Genaro (although my cracks aren't nearly as big or as numerous as his... I didn't have enough inverted slopes!). Fun stuff anyhow - C&C appreciated!
  25. I created this modified Bucket Wheel Excavator some time ago, and I thought I would like to share it on this forum. After building the original BWE, I wanted to try to incorporate some Mindstorms functions into it. I managed to motorise all the active functions, using both an EV3 brick and motors, as well as some PF motors. Functions can be preprogrammed, or can be remotely controlled using an EV3 IR remote. Here is a list of the functions: Bucket wheel rotation and main conveyor belt - PF XL motor Lower conveyor belt - PF medium motor Boom arm elevation - EV3 large motor Lower conveyor swivel - EV3 large motor Superstructure rotation - EV3 medium motor Driving - EV3 medium motor Since I owned an NXT as well, I used it to motorise the small mining truck that was included in the set. There are also some LEDs that illuminate the 'work area', but they don't really do a good job, its just a nice thing to include. Here is a video of the excavator in action, as well as the mining truck (sorry about the poor resolution and bit rate): More info about the machine can be found here: https://www.us.lego.com/en-us/mindstorms/community/robot?projectid=3e125a5b-475c-4a4c-b3ed-e4b4f2192907 Let me know what you think of it in the comments!
