This is Samus Aran, a famous bounty hunter and the main protagonist of the Metroid game series. Made as a very belated b-day gift for a good friend. Made in LEGO Digital Designer, rendered with POV-Ray, postprocessed in Adobe Photoshop. Total time: 9 hours.

It's Metroid's 30th anniversary, so I'm doing a few builds to celebrate! This one is the big green, mean dinosaur boss Kraid! Back: Metroid, Samus and all related names, images, etc. are property of Nintendo Co., Ltd. All Rights Reserved. View it on flickr!

I've built Samus Aran of Metroid game series couple of times before, in Power Suit and Zero Suit, but never in correct orangeshade. Now I felt I had hoarded enough of it and gave a try. Samus is cool as she has so brightly coloured armor compared to many grippy game heroes. More on Cyclopic Bricks.

While not fully complete, this was my largest creation brought to Brickworld Chicago 2015. Part 2 comes next year (Brickworld 2016!!) This build is based on the game Metroid Prime, one of my all-time favourite games as a kid. This is the semi-final battle with everyone's favourite asexual dragon Ridley (in metaform no less) atop the Chozo Artifact Temple that leads you to the conclusion of the game. Here's a little close-up of the big purple meanie himself, Meta-Ridley. Reference. Ready to die? Phazon suit Samus. Logo. Revamped version from 2015 above, old version from 2013 below - More photos on the new one at the end of the post and, on larger amounts, at Cyclopic Bricks. Ladies and henkselmen, here is my newest creation on the fine fields of Bionicle/HF building, Samus Aran in her Zero Suit from Metroid games, inspired by the hours of playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Some parts of this MOC were hard, some easy. The limbs and the lower torso came out without serious pain, but the upper torso and the face were very very tricky... The face is still a bit flat, but it's bloody hard to achieve any femine facial features with our favourite bricks. The stunner pistol can also work as a plasma whip as seen in Brawl. More on Cyclopic Bricks and Brickshelf folder. Feedback would be awesome.
