Emmet and Lucy's dream home (slightly based on TLM 2 set - finished 9/14/22)

Following the events of The LEGO Movie 2, and using the proceeds of his and Lucy's film careers, Emmet got to work on building Lucy and himself their dreamhouse again. They made it a little bigger, a little better, and a lot stronger... just in case of any future Duplo attacks. It also features an attic for extra storage space. Unikitty lives in the house too, and has made the unused attic space her personal play-place. The MOC's color scheme was heavily inspired by set 70831 - Emmet's Dream House/Rescue Rocket. The building itself (not the furniture) was originally inspired by this Rebrickable MOC by user MIJbricks. The rear of the house features a chimney flue. The model also opens up like a dollhouse up to 90 degrees, and locks shut on a technic pin. On the front half's lower level is the living room, with record player, writing desk and couch. Upstairs is the bed, lamp, and a huge cabinet. The attic is Unikitty's play-place. (She seems really happy to see you!) In the rear half (lower level) is the kitchen table and fireplace. Upstairs is a vanity and Planty. Pictures of Emmet and Lucy are on the wall as well. Alas, it seems the house already has a Duplo infestation... In addition to the manor house, I'm also got a black version of set 40448 - Vintage Car (from Ideas) for Emmet and Lucy to drive around in. I absolutely HATED those loose-fitting surfboards on the sides, so I've created a easy workaround. Some other things have been changed in certain places, such as those eight 1x1 double curved slopes have been replaced with the new 1x4 version for added strength. I originally wanted to do the car in red, but the wheel arches are sadly stupid expensive in regular red. Blue was also an option, until I learned one of the 1x1 brackets needed are not available in that color yet. Thus, black was my only remaining choice. Thoughts? Emmet's modular suburban 1950's modular house with vintage Plymouth Fury

Following the events of The LEGO Movie 2, Emmet Brickowski got to work on building Lucy and himself their dreamhouse again. He made it a bit bigger, a little better, and a lot stronger... just in case of any future Duplo attacks. It also features an attic for extra storage space, on top of the already-new second story. It is a modular style building, with removable floors and connection pins. The furniture (and house colors) were partially inspired by set 70831: Emmet's Dream House/Rescue Rocket, and a few of the official modular buildings. The car was modeled after the 1957 Plymouth Fury, made famous by the Stephen King book "Christine". (It's also a 1983 horror movie of the same name.) I took the original model of the Christine car made by user @hachiroku, which I would link to but can't seem to find anymore... The rear of the house has the entry point to the Duplo Fallout shelter. Why a fallout shelter? Well, the house is from the late 1950's after all... plus, the Duplo creatures are bit rougher in their attitudes and might go about doing something drastic if they don't get their way. Upstairs is the only bedroom, which is plenty big enough for Lucy & Emmett with their respective pictures on the wall above the bed. (They are stickers, sadly) Downstairs is the living and dining rooms, plus the kitchen. It also has the connection pins to hook into the modular building standard. I don't have any real world pictures of the vehicle (yet), but it's been built in real life for some years now... I just have to photograph it. Instead, here are the screenshots I took of the model in 2017 below: The car was modeled after a certain red '57 Plymouth Fury. I made the car black instead of red and took off the parts which I thought would be unstable. This meant taking off the rear wheel covers, revising the front bumper, adding different wheels and a few other small things. The rear of the car features a very ingenious set of taillights. Kudos to Hachiroku for this simple, elegant design! I've already started parts finding for the house part of this project (and I've made quite a dent in the price), so keep your eyes peeled for more pictures coming soon! (Also, I know the parts are kind of dusty, they've been sitting on my desk a while.) As usual, thoughts, complaints, comments and questions always welcome! -
Emmett and Lucy's dream home 10228 / 70831 MOD - with LDD file

Just another imagining of Emmett's house from after the events of The Lego Movie 2, in colors of set 70831, (Emmet's Dream House/Rescue Rocket!) but in the style of 10228. (Haunted House) The model opens up like a dollhouse, and lock shut on a technic pin. This flight of fancy is 100% build-able in real bricks, should I ever choose to do so. The black antenna you see on the roof is for the TV inside the house. You may ask: "Why does a Edwardian home have a vintage TV antenna?" Here is the answer: The home is based in the interior decorating styles of the 1950's, but was originally built in 1910's. It was bought as a gutted wreck by Emmet and Lucy a couple years back, and they restored it to it's former glory. (with some mid-'50's-esque additions, of course) On the side of the house is the kitchen door, which leads to the car in the driveway. On the opposite side of the home is the chimney flue, with TV antenna attached at the top. Inside the front door is the living room, with vintage rabbit-eared TV, Planty, a lamp, and Aqua-colored couch. Also on this floor we have the stove / oven unit. Upstairs is the rotary telephone and grandfather clock. The double bed, record player, and a display cabinet are also on this floor. The studs on the new fireplace should have number tiles reading 1914, as that's when the house was built.... and it's 100 years before the original LEGO Movie came out. (The two medium blue posters on the second level should have stickers depicting Emmett & Lucy both as pictures in frames.) The car is inspired by this recent @hachiroku Indiana Jones 4 build as seen here. This car fits in with Emmet's original smart car color-wise, but just a little older style-wise. (Most of the car model is already built from my last model of Emmett's house, but a few parts for the new lower side skirts are still needed.) The rear has a license plate and two (new!) coverings almost fully obscuring the rear wheels, in true early-'50's style. Six new brackets are missing from the car model on the rear bumper. (Two of these pieces in Light Bluish Gray, along with Four of this part in Black are required to finish the car.) The roof is held on by four studs, and is as such removable. I have also included light bluish gray upholstery for the back of the seat, which can fit two people next to each other. (Emmett and Lucy are the most likely occupants, obviously.) This is the love story of Lucy/Wyldstyle and Emmet. Emmet faces much hardship in his pursuit of love (probably because of Batman!) Lucy always looks cool and unresponsive. Though Lucy is always within his reach, Emmet simply cannot get her attention (or she is even beyond his sight). They whirl around one another but their is no contact point of them. They look like two lost souls in a fish bowls. It takes a long time -- from winter to summer -- for Emmet to win her over finally. Here comes a video: Hope you like my creation. Thanks for watchin. ^^
