[MOC] Lexus LC500 EV3 1:8

After four years of on-and-off work, I completed my first 1:8 Technic car, a detailed Lexus LC500 powered by Mindstorms EV3. Why Mindstorms EV3? The project started before I purchased a BuWizz 2.0 along with PF motors, I also wanted to build the best car I could with EV3, as it first got me into Lego Technic almost 7 years ago. After those previously mentioned years of on-and-off, which were for designing the chassis, it took five months to make the exterior, as close to the real car as possible. The LC500 EV3 has opening doors, hood, and trunk, working steering and drive with working steering wheel and paddle-shift* 4-speed gearbox, retractable "Performance Package" spoiler controlled by a medium motor, full independent suspension, fake detailed V8 engine with moving pistons, DNR shifter, adjustable front seats*, rear seats, functioning glove box, and custom stickers. *Special thanks to @Jeroen Ottens for his great DB11 instructions! Greatly helped with the chassis, front adjustable seats, and paddle shifters. The LC500 EV3 is more of a display model than ideal RC car (due to popping cv-joints in the differential and stressed motors due to weight) so I decided to keep it as is. [WIP] Lexus LC500

This is my first 1:8 Lego car and my passion project for over three years. I had just finished the chassis and the bottom of the grille before a big move meant I had to wait a whole year to work on this again. Here are the blueprints for the model using Sariel's model scaler. Pic 1 is in inches and Pic 2 is in studs. This is my first accurate Lego exterior job so any advice would be appreciated. -
[HELP] Building Exterior/Interior for Chassis

After finally building a functional chassis for my MOC I'm ready to start on the exterior and interior detail. Since this is the first time I'm making a 1:8 sports car, I would really welcome some advice from the community. When looking at the chassis photos please note that the EV3 IR sensor will not sit on the large motor for the final product. My car MOC is a 1:8.3 scale replica of the Lexus LC500 in Porsche 911 GT3 RS orange. The most challenging parts for me will be replicating the body with panels (I never replicated the shape of a car for an MOC), as well as the headlights, taillights, center console, and an engine cover with details under the hood. I will also be putting a medium motor in the trunk to power the small retractable wing as seen on the Premium Package for the LC500. Scale 1:20 Lexus LFA + Building Instructions x 2

This started back in November of 2017. The white version is finally finished, so I thought it would be about time to post it here. This is my Lexus LFA in Miniland scale, that is, scale 1:20. The black car was commissioned by Toyota Motor Europe and was built in record time with daily iterations. I go through everything, as well as the communication with the client in the video: With building instructions found here: https://brickhub.org/i/221 Although the back side was what I liked the best with the black version, this is also the section that has received the largest amount of modifications in the white: And speaking of the white version, here is a video where I spend more than 13 minutes going through the changes: Building instructions here: https://brickhub.org/i/530 Changes to the rear are mainly focused on adding curvature so it isn't flat: But there is also a series of other changes, as explained in the video: The exhaust pipes all have the same spacing, the grilles are placed correctly, the third rear light is thin, there is a small indent over the exhausts, the curves above the rear wheels is more accurate, as well as the rear top inlets. I can promise you that you will be in for a ride if you build one yourself - and if not, then there is a 100% money back guarantee! :D -
Here is my wip so far on the Lexus LFA, the sexiest sounding car every made! I wanted to make a larger scale of this car towards the end of the year, so I thought I would try this scale first to get a idea of the design. The exhaust is a little too big, but as you can see it functions as the steering wheel for HOG steering, by pulling out and then pushing back in place again. I love the rear defuser, perfect part for the job, just a little too narrow, but who cares! The steering itself I'm quite fond of as it is very low and compact. I have no idea how I'm going to cover this car as yet, I'm hoping raiding my very old Lego box might reveal some nice studded parts, but its a long shot. This sure is a tricky car to make as only one other smaller scale model has every been made in Lego, but I will give it my best shot! So should I keep the steering via the exhaust or try to make a smaller more visually appealing solution? Comments? Thoughts? Fire away!

Here is a quick summary of a previous post. Right now I'm planning on a new project and I could use some help. It's a 1:8 scale model of Lexus' LC coupe powered by Lego Mindstorms EV3. Currently, I have the rear axle built off the instructions from the Porsche 911 GT3 RS set. I also made the engine for the LC500 on Lego Digital Designer and I am wondering if it is good enough to buy the pieces for it on BrickLink. I also want to add the following features: Four or six-speed paddle-shift transmission Retractable spoiler Detailed interior Fake V8 engine (but I would like to achieve moving pistons) Full independent suspension I would welcome some helpful comments about the V8 engine, axles, and the gearbox I planned to use before I order pieces on BL. This is my first WIP post on EuroBricks where I will show my progress on my newest build, an EV3-powered 1:8 replica of Lexus' newest flagship coupe, the LC500. The car will most likely be a combination of both the standard and the V6 hybrid LC, but it will have a V8. The body will also be orange. Here's a photo I found of an LC that looks a lot like the one I am shooting for. Features I'm planning to add: Four or six-speed paddle-shift transmission Retractable spoiler Detailed interior Fake V8 engine (but I would like to achieve moving pistons) Full independent suspension All I built so far was the rear axle for the LC. It's exactly like the one in the Porsche 911 GT3 RS set but more reinforced. I also made the V8 engine using Lego Digital Designer. I plan to build the paddle-shifting mechanism used in Didumos' Ultimately Playable Porsche 911 GT3 RS (the one with the tilted wheel) and pair it up with a gearbox. I currently am having trouble whether to motorize his gearbox with the EV3 motors or to pick a different one with less gears and friction. I also am having a little bit of trouble finding the right front axle, though I like the one that Didumos put his Porsche because of the fact that is has two shocks for each wheel. However, I find it very difficult to fit the V8 engine in the middle since the axle is made for a rear-engine car. Here's a poorly drawn render I made of what I'm trying to achieve with the front axle. And here's the chassis in the real LC and the measurements for the LC Lego model. Overall, I'm excited about the build. I would welcome some helpful comments about the V8 engine, axles, and the gearbox I planned to use before I order pieces on BL. Once I start working on the body and aesthetics, I would appreciate some input with that as well. I can also give you the download for the .lxf file of the engine if you'd like to check it out. "The Pursuit of Perfection" - slogan of the Lexus brand. I'm now back with my greatest Lego creation ever. A 2010 Lexus GX 460 with EV3. It's a replica of my Dad's car, but this one's in gray with black interior. I made it as much as I could to the real car, thanks to pieces from the Arocs and Porsche set. Features Sariel's 4-speed sequential gearbox controlled by a medium motor All-wheel-drive Independent suspension Rack-and-pinion steering Fake V8 engine Six seats (could not fit a seventh one) with the rear four being foldable Opening side doors, trunk door, and hood. Detailed interior The gearbox and the two differentials in the car like to click while moving (especially on rough terrain) around, but the result was a car that was heavy, slow, but also makes lots of torque. I'm very happy with how this car came out and I couldn't have done it without all of the helpful people on the Lego community and EuroBricks. Thanks especially to my good friend TheMindGarage for never making me give up. Now I can officially call myself a true master builder. I would love to make a YouTube video soon about the features of the GX EV3 and footage of me taking this build on some dirt trails in a park.
