  1. This is an Impala I made trying to recreate with Lego the one that Ice Cube drives on the music video "It Was a Good Day".This MOC had some challenges, making an articulated suspension to simulate several positions and support the height of the car. Also, the green mudguards were a pain in the megablocks to find, it was released only one part in just one set (Marvel Superheroes set). The chrome touch is made with the parts I bought from Chrome Block City. The Ice Cube's bandana, I paint in black one pirate bandana, then I draw by freehand with a Sakura pen and finally put some Tamyia clear gloss varnish. 2. Hello, this is my new creation - '64 Chevrolet Impala! It has several functions: driving by Buggy motor, steering with Servo motor, opening doors and a working steering wheel. It has no differential, so it can drift very well with some tape. All is powered and controlled by BuWizz. Also, Technic guys are a perfect fit for this scale! I made this model in two days or so, so it isn't that detailed, but I tried to make it recognizable. I hope you will like it! :) Video link: Photoes: Thank you!

    [MOC] '63 Chevy Impala

LEGO version of a 1963 Chevrolet Impala I choosed for dimensions that would fit in a city lay-out (so not the Joker Lowrider dimensions for example). But that means I had to make some comprimises as I wanted to avoid to end up with a block on wheels. This is my first MOC-car since my childhood. I am happy with the result :D There are some stuff I would have done different if the right bricks existed (or if I had them in my collection) Sorry if the bad background/lighting is a bit disturbing, The perfect room to take pictures is under renovation, so I had to find an alternative, which was not easy given the dark and gloomy days nowadays...
  4. Hi Guys! I finished my new model. I didn't hold on to any real car, but it is similar to the old classic Chevrolet Bell Air / Impala. There's nothing to open, it's just a riding model. Drive / Turn = standard L-Motor / Servo. There is a 1:1 transfer from the L-motor to the differential. photos: FLICKR
  5. EDIT:___________________________________________________________ Here's where I'm currently at: Modeled after this Impala. and some current build pics Well I'm off to a fresh start on a new MOC. I learned so much during the process of my last build that I thought I would dive right into another car with similar properties. It will likely be another air ride model with a more competent power train and taking all the things I learned on my truck and incorporating them into a lighter, smaller and more functional MOC. The 63 has a lot of really great body lines and it should be fun to take a sort of street rod approach to a version of the Impala. Right now I'm sorting out what wheels I want to scale the model to. I was thinking these; off the MKII With those tires I'm looking at about 27 studs wide and 64 or so long. I'm also thinking about ordering some of the 8448 super street sensation wheels since they are already sort of chrome and have an extremely low profile tire. The problem (as I found out in my 66 custom moc) is the wide tires make adding air ride harder, since it gives you less distance between tires to achieve your steering and suspension setup. Plus if I go with those, it'll be up to 80 studs long! Lastly, I was perusing Effermans custom parts page. Someone posted some American Racing style rims, but I don't see them on his shapeways account. Anyone know how I might achieve the style as shown in the first photo for the rim?
