  1. The Duke of Hargyll had heard of the lush vegetation and good hunting surrounding Elizabethville on the island of Lacryma, and he endeavored to experience their wildness. As nobles with quite sufficient means, he and the duchess set out from Belson for the colonies. Upon arrival in Elizabethville, the Duke hired a carriage and guide to take them to the forest beyond the edge of the settlement. Around dusk they arrived at a small stone hunting shelter nestled among aspen trees. They would spend the night there and then set out away from the road on foot in the morning. MOC: Hunting in the Loch

Here's one of my most recent MOCs, Hunting in the Loch: The man grasped his spear tightly. Squinting his eyes, he peered carefully into the dark, swirling water. Something dark seemed to be moving about under the water…or was that just a reflected raincloud? A bright flash of lightning broke through the cloudy sky, and the rain began to beat even more heavily on the hunter’s head. Suddenly the water in front of him exploded into the air, and a black, writhing shape burst out. The man never saw its head; by the time the immediate shock had passed all that was visible was its scaly back, capped with large, menacing spikes. Shaking rain out of his eyes, the man prepared to throw his spear. Soli Deo Gloria! Thanks for viewing! :)

    Winter Hunter

This little scene is my last CCCX entry; it's for the "Winter Scene" category. From the hunting lodge journal of Andor: “Snow is usually a hindrance to much of life in the Mitgardian winters; however, hunters like me often find it a blessing. The beautiful white landscape makes tracking blood trails from wounded game animals far easier to track. Today I let an arrow loose into a nice buck, it was a well placed shot, but the deer was a strong beast and he staggered for about a half mile before expiring. I might never have found him had it not been for the red blood on the white snow.” I've been trying to work in some icicles, but have been unable to until now. This is also my first foray into trees with no leaves. Flickr link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mrcp6d/sets/72157632391079312/
