  1. Guerilla attack on A15. While Everlast has been lost, the High Council still has supporters in the north east. Some of them have established groups of resistance, fighting for the Republic and the People. The High Council has despatched several vessels to supply these partisans with both weapons and other supplies. _______________ Hope you like my first attempt at a forced perspective - I think it works quite well However, I am not sure if this picture might be better: C&C very welcome
  2. Guerilla against the DK at A12 Not all lands of the Desert King enjoys the divine peace the myths have promised. Thus, not all the people have agreed to give up their freedom for peace and security, and some have risen to rid themselves of the tyrants placed to keep them in check. So is the case in the North East of Kaliphlin, where the populace is revolting against the local governor. At the banks of the dried out river in front of the city hall, they are driving the guards away and about to break down the gate to the residence to the never ending chant: "For the Republic! For the People! For the High Council!"
  3. Meh'nak looked at the forces arrayed before the old fort. Lord Anfauglir of Nocturnus had promised to assist the Desert King in his campaign, but it was to Meh'nak's surprise when an entire company of soldiers arrived at the secret rendezvous point on Ulandus' northern shore. Furthermore, Anfauglir had also dispatched a squad of elite heavy infantrymen, the Scourge of Nocturnus as the unit was known. Ulandus had not anticipated an amphibious operation and had not detected the growing concentration of Desert King troops. In just a few days the soldiers had managed to transform the dilapidated fort into a secure center of operations - which the soldiers nicknamed Fort Pain. From here the Desert King could launch raids directly into the Ulandian heartland. The Scourge of Nocturnus is a crack unit under Lord Anfauglir's command. Its members are considered some of the most fearsome warriors in all of Nocturnus, and have never been known to back down from a fight. In fact, to reinforce its commitment to assisting the Desert King, Anfauglir's soldiers dismantled their transport ship and used the parts to rebuild the old fort. Anfauglir's troops prepare to raid Ulandian lands. Although Lord Anfauglir is not present to help lead his troops, they are under the command of some of his best officers. ------------------------------------------- Hello! Another GA for the Desert King! I wasn't able to use my standard photo setup so forgive the somewhat crappy quality of the photos. I'm gonna try to get a better one before the night's up. Anyways, I've been wanting to get Anfauglir into the Civil War somehow, but since he's currently visiting Shadowmere, I thought I'd send a group to represent his command. So, thanks for looking, feedback always welcomed!

    [G: B5, DK vs HC]

Title of this GA is Arming the Resistance As the Desert King's victories grew, so too did his supporters. An increasing number of Kaliphlinites in High Council and Ulandus-controlled lands began rallying behind the Desert King's banner. Those who did not join his army vowed to advance his cause by other ways, including through subterfuge and internal resistance. Below, a group of Desert King troops unload weapons to a priest loyal to the Desert King. He has agreed to store the weapons in the local temple and distribute them to other supporters in this patch of High Council territory. ---------------------------- Phew, got this in 11:59 p.m. U.S. central time! Hope this still counts as a Sunday entry! Anyways, another guerilla build, this time against the High Council at B5. Somehow forgot to include the name of this build in the title. Ska, would you mind adding Arming the Resistance to the title? Thanks in advance and sorry for the trouble! Thanks for looking, feedback always appreciated!
  5. After reports of heavy siege equipment and chariots being positioned for an attack on Eastgate, the city council has commissioned improvements to the defences. After the long conflict between Dugal and Petera, the city defenses have been somewhat battered, and no improvements have been possible. However, as the brothers are now united against the High Council's enemies, the populace, craftsmen, and soldiers of Eastgate are eager to avoid a new, unpleasant siege, and even more eager to avoid a violent assault from the savage troops of the Desert King. Therefore, they have flocked to the defenseworks to lend their hands. Defences of Eastgate by Beorthan, on Flickr In order to hold off the heavy equipment necessary to storm the tall, strong defenses of the inner City of Eastgate, a military engineer has proposed a defensive ditch, which will stop any heavy equipment, or topple it over, should it try to approach the walls. Defences of Eastgate by Beorthan, on Flickr To support and strengthen the ditch, a wooden wall is erected, supported by heavy logs driven into the hard sandstone ground. In order to drive them in, a heavy hammering contraption is being used. As its operators crank the handles, the heavy iron hammer is lifted, to be released at full height, falling down on the log with all its weight, driving the log in by another notch. Defences of Eastgate by Beorthan, on Flickr Should someone try to storm the ditch, Eastgate will still stand ready. A poleturner is sharpening poles to be placed at the defensive end of the ditch, which will be enough to drive off any beast. Defences of Eastgate by Beorthan, on Flickr An overview shot: Defences of Eastgate by Beorthan, on Flickr I know the pics aren't perfect, and I am somewhat stumped as to how improve them. I seem to have tried every setting on my camera However, I think the build turned out pretty well C&C is more than welcome
  6. This guerilla action is against zone G14 . The wall at Qaryat-Dul-Khat has stood for ages as a place of solace and worship for the people of Kaliphlin. One of Kaliphlin's many holy sites, the wall bears ancient inscriptions describing various religious beliefs and practices. When Ulandus stormed through the southern Rakarths, Qaryat-Dul-Khat and other shrines fell under the First Centurion's dominion. Pilgrimages ended almost immediately as worshippers feared how Ulandus would treat visitors to these sites. Rumors spread that the authoritarian Ulandians regarded such worship as dangerous and backwards-thinking. Whether or not these rumors were true, the Desert King saw this as a perfect opportunity to strike Ulandus and demonstrate his devotion to Kaliphlin's traditional values. He sent a small group of civil and military officers to capture Qaryat-Dul-Khat who then invited worshippers to once again pray at the holy wall. In this time of suffering and uncertainty, the shrine has seen a huge growth in visitors. Guards dispatched by the Desert King ensure offerings are not stolen. So far Ulandus has not reclaimed the site, no doubt fearful of further antagonizing the local populace. Worshippers come from all over for fellowship, to pray and to leave personal offerings. Below, a Desert King civil officer helps an elderly worshipper while another recites the shrine's ancient inscriptions: ----------------------------------- Hello! My first Guerilla Action entry, hope you don't mind the stickers! They seemed to work here and finally gave me something to do with the Moria Mine stickers I've collected. I'd have to admit the rockwork needs some finesse. I would have liked to go a bit bigger to give a better impression of a shrine embedded in the mountain - unfortunately, most of my dark bley slopes are tied up in another build and this was all I could scrape together. In any case, thanks a ton for looking. Hope you enjoy it!
  7. Guerilla attack on C9 Somewhere in the desert, a group of dwarves, supporting the High Council, have excavated an old shrine to the Desert King and his forefathers. Cutaway by Beorthan, on Flickr They are now distributing the wealth uncovered to the local populace, while asking the rhetorical question: "Would you rather have the toils of your hard labour hid away in shrines and temples to a self-styled god-king, demanding worship, or put into the betterment of your lives and welfare?" Close-up by Beorthan, on Flickr And an overview pic: Overview by Beorthan, on Flickr For the Republic!
  8. Counter to Robuko's Guerilla against Everlast Besieged, surrounded, and blockaded by Desert King forces, the people of Everlast have been offered supplies and protection to give up control to the Desert King. However, on the town square, a group of strangers have drawn a crowd, handing out food and supplies to the people of Everlast... The Saviour by Beorthan, on Flickr On the podium, a noble-looking, charismatic gentleman is speaking in a booming, deep voice: "The socalled Desert King holds your town in an iron grip, cutting your supplies and starving your families. He claims to mean you no harm, and offers to feed and protect you for your allegiance. But from whom do you need protection? And why are you in need of food? This town has ever been able to support itself, and where it not for the troops of the false god-king, you would be in no need for his socalled gifts!" In the crowd, a low murmur of support is rising, people looking at each other, nodding in agreement, as the elderly gentleman proceeds, raising his voice: "It is said that you should not bite the hand that is feeding you, but are you to rely on this very hand for food, when it is the same hand that holds you in a stranglehold? Who is to say what the price of the next meal will be, should you give up your freedom for this? Will he, who styles himself a god, allow you to live as equals in his realm?" The People by Beorthan, on Flickr The orator looks around, meeting the gaze of many of the on-lookers, as his followers hand out large amounts of fish, meats, bread and other foods. A silence falls over the crowd under the man's serious gaze. Loudly, he continues: "The Desert King promises peace, security and an end to starvation, but at what cost? What sacrifice will this "God" require of you next? Will you give in to his demands for the scraps from his own table, or will you stand against him to preserve your freedom? The Republic of Kaliphlin stands with you, and thus, the people of all of Historica! We offer you supplies at no cost but our own peril. We require naught of you, but that you respect YOUR rights as FREE PEOPLE of these lands!" The murmur in the crowds resumes, slowly rising to a cheer... The Town by Beorthan, on Flickr "We have made it our undertaking to supply you with all you need. We have established secret, hidden routes of supply through the lines of the Foul Besieger. We have done so, not to ask for your support, but to show you that you have ours. The High Council stands as protector of the Republic, and as protector of its people. It stands as YOUR protector!" Silence falls over the plaza, as the orator pauses for a second. "So what will it be? Surrender or Stand Fast? Submission or Freedom?!? I shall leave it up to you and yours, but know that we will do our part in allowing you a free choice in this matter!" A loud cheer of support rises, and out of the noise a chanting emerges, increasing in volume, echoing throughout the valleys of Everlast: "Stand fast.... Stand Fast.... STAND FAST, STAND FAST, STAND FAST!" ____________________________________________________________________________________ That's my counter to Robuko's attempt to take over Everlast. I hope you like it :) I am quite happy with the idea, satisfied with the build and story, but somewhat dissapointed about the pics, though.
  9. This is my first guerilla build, attacking the fortification of Everlast at A14 with an infiltrating spy of the Desert King. The rumors about an upcoming war were growing everywhere in the mountains of Rakath. And the people heard about the cruel troops of that so called "Desert King". Most of the civilians tried to reach the last refuge of civilization in the northern mountains, the last place that was still controlled by the High Council: Everlast The guards have been doubled in the last weeks, and everyone in Everlast was preparing against an upcoming attack by a huge army. But sometimes the threat is sneaking into your house, and you won't recognize it, if you are just preparing against the obvious... Greets Disco
  10. "Oh Centurion, Stedor has extinquished their lighthouse again. It will be a dark night like always..." "Hahaha, our Centurion will not hear you. We are in the middle of a sea... Come on, let's sleep some... Aisha, it's your turn to watch out for coming lights" And so the Ulandian Navy Soldiers in the Ghuba-ya Biashara closed their eyes and started sleeping... A few hours later: "I saw something in the water!! The ship is moving!!" Aisha yelled, "Shut up Aisha, it's a shark swimming around the ship. Even in the moonlight you can see it is a shark. And beside, we are anchored" Aisha was right, there was a shark in the water. But also a whole bunch of Mermaids who removed the anchors of the Patrolling Vessels so they could move them to another territory. A guerilla against Ulandus together with Bregir for Square J15 For the glory of the High Council!! Long live the real Kaliphlin!! C&C ofcourse welcome!! Also UoP for: - Hydrology : Underwater - Landscape: Sideaways Rocks
  11. In the streets of a small town just south of Mpya Stedor, everyday life seems to continue unhindered, despite the civil war raging throughout the guild. Everyday Life by Beorthan, on Flickr However, in the shadows. something shady is going on. An official from the town council is being bribed by an agent of the High Council to allow ships, troops, and supplies to move in and out of Mpya Stedor. The Bribe by Beorthan, on Flickr Effectively, control of the town will be transfered to the High Council, together with the hinterland.
