Challenge I : Repairs on the Elvish port of Falahuas

Challenge I : Repairs on the Elvish port of Falahuas Lord Faladrin being absent, it is to Lady Walahaeria, the elf Princess of the old evish clan living in Falahuas, to supervise the repairs of the old part of the port. The port was built by the Elves long time ago and suffered many damages from the Drow during Lord Raavage reign of terror. The main warehouse was totally burned down and was left with only ruined walls. The actual repairs were focused on rebuilding the roof of the warehouse and conforting the walls to support the new roof. Hopefully for the port activity, the lighthouse was kept nearly intact and was kept functional. The elvish falconer was already at work sending eagles and hawks all around the country from the top of the lighthouse. It is an important part of the mailing system of the city of Falahuas, but riders are still usefull too. Speaking of riders, there is a green rider arriving ! He stopped his exhausted horse at the level of the elvish princess, bind to her and deliver the message : "My Lady, I have been sent by Lord Faladrin. His ship, the Bouncing Frog, sprang a leak during its return trip and had to reach land at the southwestern coasts of the Enchanted Forest in a quite deserted area. He needs asistance to repair the ship in order to drag it to the city. So I was sent to you to require your help. Here is the list of the materials he will need to repair the ship." Lady Walaheria thanked the green messenger and ordered a team to leave immediately to reach the position of her husband. Here is my entry for the Challenge. A quite heavy build for me... I integrated the story of this challenge build in my main storyline and hope to continue soon this story ! Hope you'll like this build ! -
The Bouncing Frog After the defeat of Ravaage and the fall of the Spire, the little principality of Falahuas in Avalonia became more peaceful. The Drow became rare and their dreadful raids on the countryside of the Avalonian province stopped de facto. Lord Faladrin managed to secure some safe trade routes to re-connect the city of Falahuas to the rest of the Guild and, in his efforts to dynamise Falahuas, he developped the port activities by using Elvish craftsmen and ship masters to rebuild the quays and the shipyards. In these elvish shipyards the best ship builder he had at his disposal developped a new vessel for the Falahuan fleet. He called this new ship a Nao (meaning simply "Ship"). This new design was remarkable on the ability of the Nao to maintain high sea perfectly and to endure dangerous waves that usual cogs or carrcks would not support. Its lateen rigging allowed it to almost fly upon water and to navigate close to the wind. And its newly designed keel permits it to strongly stay straight in high sea even in bad storms. This is aboard this brand new ship, recently baptised The Bouncing Frog (due to its ability to bounce from wave to wave) that our Hero, Faladrin, decided to run a maiden course. He was, of course accompanied by the ship builder himself, an elf engineer named Ehrtäin and of a capable crew of sailors and guardsmen. The objective was to sail further than any other vessel of Falahuas had ever been and to make some maneuvre to train the guards at operating the heavy ballista mounted on the bow. Faladrin was himself at the manoeuvre on the ballista and enjoyed being at the bow of the ship ! He was more than happy to set sail straight away on the sea and ready for adventure ! They were at sea for about 34 days and didn't expect the ship to be so strong and swift ! It was a pleasure to manoeuvre the Bouncing Frog ! Faladrin an Ehrtäin were discussing on the deck to organise the return trip when suddenly the watchman yelled : "At Starboard ! Land !" A land here was not expected at all ! Faladrin and Erhtäin decided to sail to this new unknown land. The taste of Adventure was too strong for the men... They had to see if there were something, or someone, on this new island. As it quickly appeared the land was a little island made of rocks but surprisingly covered on most of its surface by red roses bushes and even gigantic unknown red flowers... Faladrin named this island : The Isle of Roses. It appeared it was an inhabited island and The Bouncing Frog made a soft tacking to set sail towards the keep they've seen throne upon the rocks above the sea... To be Continued... Thanks for reading ! The next part of the Story will be developped with my other "Safe Haven" challenge entries. The ship is clearly inspired of the first real Portuguese Nao and Caravel designs. The Restauration of Falahuas ch5 : The Rangers of Avalonia

Hello everyone. I am back in GOH with a new little build for Avalonia Task 2 (after a while passed in Brethren of the Brick Seas...) I am continuing the story of Faladrin and his wife Walaheria showing their attempts to rebuild the Principality of Falahuas after a Drow raid left the land in ruins. If you missed the past chapters, here are some links : - The Restauration of Falahuas ch 1 - The Restauration of Falahuas ch 2 - The Restauration of Falahuas ch 3 - The Restauration of Falahuas ch 4 This is chapter 5 and it's occuring after Faladrin and his team met and defeated some Algus in the Last Outpost. The Rangers of Avalonia The last outpost Faladrin used to defend Falahuas against the Algus seemed better that he would expected. So, instead of leaving it at its fate, Lord Faladrin decided to used it as a training and recruiting camp. His old friend Aeldric from Vanhorn, when he re-opened the road between Falahuas and Vanhorn, offered him to recruit some Rangers of Avalonia to help Falahuas defenses. Faladrin thought it could be a good help but was not sure about hiring new men... Though, hearing about war at the Guild's doors involving The Trifork and Drond's Feelds and the rumours of civil war grounding in Nocturnus hasted Faladrin's decision. And he decided to use the back of the outpost, totally in ruins, to create a training camp for some Rangers of Avalonia. The men were training when a strange druid came to Faladrin and offered him his help. - But you're not a bow expert ! I clearly said that I especially want sharpshooters ! Clamed Faladrin to the old man. - You're mistaking, Mylord. Answered the druid. I am expert at throwing potions. And I can ensure you that potions of my creation are strongly poisonous or can deal some kind of (funny, did I say funny...) damages to an ennemy army ! - Ah ! Great ! I did not thought it like this ! Of course, you're very welcome in the first batalion of the Rangers of Avalonia, Ser... Sorry I missed your name... - Ser Nobelius, Mylord. My name is Nobelius. - Nice to meet you, Nobelius ! And welcome ! But during the hiring of the druid, nobody seemed to notice the strange shadowy winged creature spying behind the tree... And here is the batalion of the Rangers of Avalonia : This batalion is meant to be my hero retinue as stated in Avalonia Task 2 rules, so I will post a photo of it in the Avalonia thread too. Here is the last part of my Frozen Beyond participation : The last outpost : The 2 other parts of the story are : Snow in the Enchanted Forest ?! Mom is really angry ! After a while rebuilding the old border outpost between Falahuas and Circardia, Walaheria and Faladrin reinforced their position just in time to see the Algus last attack begin ! They were just 4 of them but there was an Algus sorcerer with them ! The sorcerer brand his staff and threw ice bolts at the door of the outpost. The door was near to break when Faladrin and Walaheria ordered the couterstrike ! - Come on guys ! Don't let those abominations break the door ! Throw them the flamable oil ! Bring me some fiery arrows ! Noihe and a guardsman put oil on fire and dropped it to the Algus. Walaheria spoke some elvish words and her sword blew a fiery wind upon the Algus ! And they were over... Every Algus in the Enchanted Forest was melted ! Thank you for reading. Some Bonus Pics : The Bad guys : The Great heroes : At last I could finish this contest ! There are so many great entries, I am pretty sure I can not pretend to any prize (especially in the Cat A !) but I wanted to make the full contest ! And yes ! it's done ! [Frozen Beyond, Cat C] : Snow in the Enchanted Forest ?!

This is my entry for Category C of the Frozen Beyond contest. Snow in the Enchanted Forest ?! During the Restauration of Falahuas, the team designed to repair the road access to Circardia, through the north of Falahuas, heard some strange rumors about snow and ice developping in the Guild. They didn't expect to see snowing here, in the middle of the Enchanted Forest ! As they were going to fish in a little pool (a great fishing spot ! according to the locals...), two men of the team lead by Faladrin and his wife had been caught by snow fall. They arrived at the pool and it was totally frozen ! And then, they saw THEM ! The Algus were there ! The poor two laborers tryed to flee but it was too late ! One of them received an icy bolt in the face and instantly froze to death ! The second laborer could reach the camp and warned Lord Faladrin who immediately lead an atttack team with Noihe, the leader of the artists, and a great swashbuckler, and of course with his wife, Walaheria, a powerful elf enchanteress. They engaged battle with the deadly Algus but did not manage to deal some damaged until Walaheria brand her enchanted elvish sword and after saying some elvish words, the enchanted pearl glew of a fiery glance and the sword instantly melted the algus sorcerer ! Finally with this enchanted pearl made by the elves and some magic from the ancient elvish tradition it is possible to defeat the algus and their terrible frost ! - Great ! Your elvish magic is very strong ! Said Faladrin. - Of course my Love, you doubt of it ? Walaheria replied. - Oh no ! But I am always astonished to see your fiery pearl work. - Hey ! Look ! It seems our ennemies were guarding something ! remarked Noihe. - Oh yes is it an egg ?! Asked Faladrin - erh... I think it is an egg of a Frostbite Dragon, a terrible monster from the Frozen Beyond, North to Midgardia. Answered Noihe. I heard of it once our troup were in tour in Midg... GRRRRROWRH ! Noihe could not finish her sentence as a terrible beast made it heard. To be continued in the next Frozen Beyond topic I will post ! -
Here is my Second part of the story and my second entry for the Frozen Beyond Contest : Mom is really Angry ! the first part of the story can be found in my first entry : Snow in the Enchanted Forest ?! GRRRRROWRH ! Noihe could not finish her sentence as a terrible beast made it heard. - AAAAH ! Screamed Faladrin, escaping with the egg. It is really a Frostbite Dragon egg ! And Mom is really Angry ! RUN AWAY ! - Run Away ! Yelled Noihe, dropping her weapons and running out of range of the frosty breath of the Mother Dragon. But only Walaheria stood up, facing the beast and using her magical sword she cut the deadly breath in two parts as simple as she would of an apple... - Run my Love ! I can manage her a short time... but, just enough to allow us to escape and be secure. Walaheria said to Faladrin. - We will need to reinforce our troups and be prepare for a bigger attack next. Said Faladrin, once out of range of the beast. - Yes, there is an abandoned outpost not far from here when we should hold position until the next Algus attack. Answered Walaheria. Avalonia task 4 : The Restauration of Falahuas ch3

Here are the previous episodes of the story : The Restauration of Falahuas Ch 1 The Restauration of Falahuas Ch 2 After his visit to Erthain and his inspection of the food supplies level, Lord Faladrin discovered the roads to exit the Principality of Falahuas were cut. Faladrin thought it was really the badest news he could have ! The port was severly hit by the Drows' attack as they came through rocky caves by the sea shore. The city center was badly damaged and the Market place, the city hall, the forum and the residence of the Princes are still in ruins too. It is difficult without the roads merchant trafic to be able to rebuild the city. How cuold the workers will build up some repairs without material supplies ? He definitively have to form a 'Road Repair Team' made of workers and of warriors to repair the roads and to secure them as well. As he arrived at the 'Wharf Delight', the old tavern alongside the quays of the Falahuawin river behind the fishery, near the port, Faladrin made his decision, he will supervise the roads repairs and lead the team himself. The Tavern and Inn is of good standards and had not suffered too much from the attack, so Faladrin and his wife, the Princess Walaheria, decided to move their residence here until the Princes' Residence is rebuilt. The Princess Walaheria was just finishing preparing herself when Faladrin arrived. Probably some of these traveling groups that were stucked in the city when the port was destroyed, Faladrin thought. Welcome ! - Good morning Barney. Is Walaheria here ? - Yes, Sure, she is upstairs. - Thank you, could you keep me a table and make an announce that I will organise a meeting after lunch where I will hire some valiant workers who are not afraid of going on the forest to make the roads repairs they need ! - Yes Mylord, as you wish. And Faladrin joined his wife to explain her his plan. Rest Falahuas 12 by Thomas LOUYOT, sur Flickr - Hello my love ! Good trip ? How are the food supplies ? Will the citizens starve ? Asked Walaheria. - Hello ! No, that's fine, the food suppplies are just enough to feed everybody but there is an other problem : The roads have been cut by the Drows when they retreat through the woods. - Oh ! I see... And without a functional port... - Yes ! You are guessing well, We are cut from the world, from our allies. But I have a plan : I will lead a little group of workers and warriors to make the repairs and I would like to you to lead the repairs of the port. Are you agree ? - Yes of course ! It is my duty as a leading Princess. - Ok ! Great ! I organized a meeting for this afternoon where I'll hire the team. I see some of the fishers, great ! And some of the merchants, ok ! But you too ? The artists ? you want to work hard on the roads ? Said Faladrin when he saw the leader of the band he saw in front of the tavern the morning. - Yes of course Mylord ! Said the lady leader of the performing troupe. We are stucked in the city. Don't take offense, but it is not our way of life, we want to travel and perform our show elsewhere. So, what is the best for us to help and repair those roads ! - Alright ! Every help is welcome ! I am hiring you too. Ok ! Now the team is complete ! Lets get to work ! And Faladrin organised the roles of everyone, the plans of the bridge, the positions to reinforced by building new surveillance towers and the many details needed for such endeavor. With this build I am claiming Some of the Task 4 building for the city of Falahuas, Capital of the Principality of the same name. I know it is a bit long but the building was inspiring me when I built it so I felt I had to make more. So I added a removable second flour to add the Inn part of the building. Avalonia task 4 : The Restauration of Falahuas ch4

With this build I am claiming the Task 4 : Laborers : Road workers category for my city of Falahuas. I made this little chapter also to announce that my trade roads by land are partially re-opened, mainly for Avalonians first. I am making Falahuas open to the Avalonians who want to create some trade roads with it. To do so : PM me and, when the road is accepted, make a build in the Falahuas market place. This will allow spreading some brands of trade from the 6th task ! And with it I am saying that I will participate more in the active political life and major lore of Avalonia and GoH ! This is the 4th chapter of my story The Restauration of Falahuas. Here are the previous chapters : - The Restauration of Falahuas Ch1 - The Restauration of Falahuas Ch2 - The Restauration of Falahuas Ch3 After joining Erthain at First Fall Point, the western borough of the city of Falahuas, and helping him to finish the bridge repairs, the 'Road Repair Team' lead by Lord Faladrin himself worked hard through the Enchanted Forest. They rebuilt each mile of the western road first in order to join Vanhorn and be able to contact some Avalonians. Lord Faladrin was on duty by escorting the workers through this part of the forest well known to be lush and opulent. The workers saw by seeing the flowers and the vegetation near the road, that is usually well kept, this will be a hard job to repair the road ! And Faladrin knew it was a dangerous pass. It was near there, some years ago, he was hit by a poisonned arrow that nearly killed him. Without the help of Walaheria, who healed him, he would be dead. Firstly, the team had to dig and remove the remnants of the older road. Then they had to spread sand and flatten the road bed. And finally put the pavement on. The stone cutters had to prepare and bring many loads of stones and pavement ! With all this activity around, nobody seemed to see this strange winged shadow passing through the bushes of flowers... Free build : Avalonia task 4 : The restauration of Falahuas ch1

Free build for Avalonia 4th task : The restauration of Falahuas Chapter 1 Here is my first participation for the 4th task of Avalonia : I would claim the agricultural build for my capital Falahuas. It is also the first chapter of the story of the Restauration of Falahuas. Hope you'll enjoy it. After the Drows' attack on Falahuas, the fields near the city of Falahuas, the capital, had to be regrown rapidly so the citizens don't starve. Old Erthain, one of Faladrin faithfull friends, restarted some crops just at the western exit of the capital, at an ancient roadcrossing called First Fall Point, near the first falls of the river Falahuawin.
