Cruela De Vil 1930s roadster - real world 40532 (Vintage Taxi) inspired MOD

This car is owned by Cruella De Vil of "101 Dalmatians" fame in the classic red and black paint-scheme of that animated film... and no, its doesn't fall-apart like in the sequel film, "Patch's London Adventure". (at least, not on purpose!) I built the model by heavily stretching set 40532 - Vintage Taxi by about seven studs. This allowed for me to add in some mechanical details, although it might be a bit too long now. I added a covered spare tire at the rear of the car, and blacked out the back windscreen to give the impression of a fabric convertible top. As an added bonus, the car still seats two figures with room in the trunk for luggage. The whole point of building this car is to give Cruela from the upcoming Disney CMF her iconic vehicle back and complete her "look". I plan on buying this figure as soon as it comes out on April 1st. Thoughts? -

The red double decker bus is one of the iconic London symbol. My model is base on Enviro 400 bus in a minifigure scale. It is 8 stud wide The top and the second level can be easily detached for more playability. The front, rear, and the engine compartment door can be opened. I also designed the London phone booth and the bus stop in this Lego set. This bus does not only fit in London, it can also fit in every kids' Lego city. Hi all. I’m hoping to find out about any groups or events in the UK that are particularly interested in Technic Mocs, mods etc. Or at least include some in their collection. I see lots of videos and photos of gatherings on YouTube or Flickr in the US and Europe. I am aware of adult Lego groups in the uk however they are not really interested in Technic. I know that the Technic side of the community will always be smaller and I think that by nature we are more solitary creatures. I do wander why it is so hard to find this kind of thing over here though, I know there are many talented builders In this country. Are we just a miserable lot? Do I really have to get on an airplane and cross the channel to see some of these custom creations in the flesh? Many thanks Troy

First off, I would like to say that, no, I am not terrible at maths! All shall be explained! (Sorry, this may be quite a lot of reading!) The Back Story: First aspect: Some weeks ago, I was having a general look for sets that might be of interest to me. I stumbled upon a very good deal on the Lego City Bus Station (Set no. 60154). I decided in a spur of the moment purchase to pick up 2 sets, with no real plan… That’s what sowed the seed! Second aspect: In the not so distant past, I had purchased a huge Lego haul from eBay containing many train set items and accessories. In amongst this, was an incomplete copy of the Lego Freight Rail Runner (Set no. 4564) – (maybe 80% complete) – at the time I didn’t really know what to do with it. Over time I harvested the 9V motor, wheels, couplings, bogie plates, wagon parts and straight track – basically all the good stuff! Now, I’m a big fan of seeing people doing set combining! I have never seen anyone attempt something like this! (Correct me if I’m wrong!) The Hypothesis: “Is it feasible to make a decent looking locomotive of any kind, combining Sets 60154 and 4564? – Using minimal significant other parts, but in cases where necessary only using parts I currently have, and not resorting to ordering things. The locomotive should ideally use Power Functions with 2 motors, lights are not necessary. Also, the finished model should be sturdy, strong, and able to be played with by children.” Answer, Was It Possible? Yes, and in my opinion, it turned out rather well. What I attempted to build was a massively simplified Class 37, with much artistic licence! Here is the finished product: Thus, the idea for “60154 + 4564 = 37?” was born! What do you think? With the recent concert tour of "A Head Full of Dreams", Coldplay's popularity has risen drastically, therefore why not create a project of a popular group. The set is a concert stage, so the builders will be able to use it for their own customs and other play features. Hi all, Yes, I am a 'new' member here, kind of. A few years ago, I lurked and dabbled with emerging from the dark ages. However, I never fully escaped its clutches. Now, I am back and raring to go. Motivated by two kids who love Lego, I am really interested in having a city layout in our hobby room. For those interested, my name is Ian and although I was born and raised near Manchester, England I now live just outside Stockholm, Sweden. Jag kan pratar lite svenska men inte så mycket! Im much better in English, especially when it is typed as you don't have to tolerate my accent! The lego room was looking great until last week, with some tables laid out and a train track in operation, but alas, last week returning home with the temperature around -20 I found a leak, so currently have to redecorate the whole of the basement floor after it dries out. A victorian police constable, Homes' assistant John Hamish Watson with his revolver and the master himself Sherlock Homes with his iconic deerstalker hat and a magnifying glass. This project is not based on any Sherlock Holmes movie or TV series but the original stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and with less than 400 bricks it would make a fantastic Lego Ideas set. Hi, I've been a Villa fan for nearly a decade, been through glory times and really tough times. I've always wanted to do this, so recently, I've combined my love for Aston Villa with Lego, and made some new designs for other teams too. Hey? Any Villa fan in here? To start off with, of course: I've done, in total 4 designs, an Aston Villa 13/14 home shirt, England 2014 world cup home shirt (men and women), and Arsenal 15/16 home shirt. I haven't figured out how to make the 15/16 Villa shirt, so it's still in experimental process, as for why I chose the 13/14 one, but not 14/15 one or earlier. It's because this is the design I like most in recent years. One other thing I did was the Acrons logo, I prefer not to help the betting company to advertise, and I've always wanted to help promote the local hospice. Ever since I did a year of volunteering in a hospice, I've always had many respect with the place, and wanted to help promote this practice. And of course, Acrons is the main charity sponsored and promoted by Aston Villa, as all fans know. So move on to the 3 Lions (England) shirts. It's a hard design, as all things are white. But I've managed to make one for my gf and one each for Gerrard and Rooney. And as all who follow English football knows what Gerrard is famous for.... XD Rooney: You do not flipping slip!!! You do not Flipping SLIP!!!!! Gerrard and Rooney discussing how to take the free kick. He is also famous for being a very efficient person, and can get done by 38 seconds :grin: I meant to do Arsenal players, as I was going to make one for Sanchez, but I ran out of white legs, so they became the top-4 glory hunters (Arsenal fans).... with selfie sticks!! I really think they should be banned in the stadium... don't you agree? The guy can't resist to take a selfie while being chased by a maniac (me) OMG Rooney got into the act! Because of work and school, I do not have a lot of time to build. Between semesters, I had a two week break to build, and this carriage was the product of that vacation. It is a minifig-scale representation of the Gold State Coach. The real one was built in England in 1762 as the ultimate ride for the Royal Family and has been used in every coronation ceremony since King George III. It has also been used for special events like royal weddings. The real carriage is beautifully ornate and gilt in gold. It's so heavy that it takes a team of eight horses to pull it! I was inspired to build this model after seeing the carousel horses in set 10235, Winter Village Market. They reminded me of the horses pulling the royal carriage. From the beginning, I wanted to build the carriage out of pearl gold and metallic gold parts. This created a big challenge because pearl gold is usually only used as an accent color in sets. As far as I know, basic bricks and plates are not available in pearl gold. A few years back, Sir Nadroj proved pearl gold could make for a stunning carriage with his "Bavarian Autumn." Since then, the number of parts in pearl gold has expanded to include the wagon wheels, minifigures, etc. The build was definitely not easy, but it was fun to see how a limited range of parts could be configured to make something recognizable. She is represented by the minifig in the front. I chose this period because I used to collect toy soldiers, and one of my favorite toy soldier sets was the Britains coronation carriage released in 1953. Here is a side view of the carriage. Here is a rear-view image of the carriage. The rubber-bands on the wagon wheels are a nod to Sir Nadroj. They also give the wheels some traction! Instead of using the new carousel horses, I used rubber bands and gold coins to cover the horses heads. Pearl gold clips and rings from Lord of the Rings sets helped for decorating the horses even further. There are four Tritons (mermen) on the carriage in real-life. Fortunately, the Atlantis sets offered up the appropriate minifigure. For the Tritons in the front, the pearl gold cobra and axe-head are designed to serve as their tails. Lego doesn't make pearl gold hair, so I had to paint some. The top of the carriage features micro-minifigs, used to represent the cherubim on top of the real carriage (though the real carriage only has 3, not 4). The interior of the carriage features dark red plates to represent velvet, and it can seat one minifigure. The four ornate corners of the carriage were built using Prince of Persia helmets, pauldrons and crowns. The Tritons on the back feature "angel wings," and the bottom portion of their bodies was built using a scorpion and robot arm and 2 teeth for the tail.
