  1. The E-Wing is one of my favourite Legends EU ships. I made this one by building the cockpit and nose from the Resistance X-Wing, a custom body and nose, and the basic wing structure from Jek 14's Stealth Starfighter. The only major problems I'm having with the build so far are that Stud.io is currently lacking the new windscreen, which I think is necessary for the shape, and I can't tell if certain hinge connections would work in reality. Below is the wing connection I'm unsure about. It looks like the larger hinges should be able to join up to the small one at the top, while the clip hinges below hold the wing. But I'm not sure if the third stud down on the wing is actually obstructing the yellow section of the hinge. I'll be grateful if anyone can give me some tips. :) UPDATE: It lives! For the most part, I'm happy with how it turned out, but there are some modifications I'll have to make, specifically to how the engines are held together inside, and the landing gear. The axles inside the engines seem to be at the wrong length ratio, so the front can easily be knocked off. The landing gear is just badly designed, and I might have to completely rework it. As you can see, I'm missing a 3L bar on the front skid, I got a 4L bar by accident. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Otherwise, the front would be ok. The back skids need a less flexible framework, and one of the clips collides with the skid underneath. The cannons aren't quite as long as intended, it turns out the pin hole on the end of the 3L technic pins with an axle holder end aren't the right shape for connecting bars, so that's another thing that I might alter, but it doesn't detract from the look of it. Apart from those the only thing I'd like to change is that the only thing holding the nose is a pair of technic pin bricks, but it's not too wobbly. The lid for the astromech compartment comes off easily enough, though the 1x4 bricks sometimes need pressing back on. :) Booty shot:

    Micro E-wing

Hi guys My first post here, I've always been a lurker. I was looking around for E-Wings (Since I love that ship). Was trying to find a nice micro build, stumbled one on Flickr user p13c30fch33s3 from an old account so I decided to update his!! Suggestions are welcome, will plan to build using real pieces as soon as I feel it's done! Also apparently I have a limit to files I can post for now? So I can't post another angle...
  3. Update 2: I finally solved the problem with the wings (only being held in place by gravity) in a way that doesn't look too clunky. Now the model is a bit more swooshable ;) Update: It's difficult to stop trying to improve your creation but this should be the final version. I cleaned up the colorsceme a bit, added a bit more detail to the wingtips and modified the wing cannons and thrusters. Hi and thanks for looking at my first post, After seeing the render of the E-Wing from Fate of the Galaxy I wanted to build a Lego version of it. After a two weeks of improving my design this is the endproduct: While I tried to recreate the original model as exact as possible I made some small changes and I had some problems recreating the nose section. I'm no expert with snot techniques and I couldn't find a better cockpit piece. In the end I combined the nose of the 4502 X-Wing and 7259 ARC-170. The rear hatch was inspired by the 75051 Jedi Scout fighter. I build a lot of slightly different versions of the E-Wing and I included an older version with another cockpit piece in the LDD file. In the file there is a small gap in the nose section. In a brick built version the gap can be filled with a 2x2 plate.
  4. Hello EB community! My entry for the SWEU Contest (Category: Starships) is the E-Wing Starfighter. Commissioned by the New Republic during the Thrawn campaign as a replacement for the X-Wing, the E-Wing remained in service until after the Yuuzhan Vong War. E-Wings were often carried into battle by Endurance-class Fleet Carriers, MC90 Star Cruisers and Imperial-II-class Star Destroyers. Since the NJO novels aren't eligible for the contest, this fighter is active during the Black Fleet Crisis, particularly the Battle of ILC-905. (from: Tyrant's Test) You can find details, technical specifications and reference pictures on Wookieepedia: http://starwars.wiki...ort_starfighter Pictures: Link to the album: [EDITED August 5th, 2015: changed link from Picasa to Flickr]

    [WIP] Re-Creating Sleepers E-Wing

Hi Guys! Today I've decided to share with you my very first LDD project, re-creating Sleepers E-wing. I absolutely love the E-Wing as a starfighter, and Sleepers lego version captures it perfectly. So far, I have managed to make the nose, body, and wings, leaving just the engines and smaller wings left, along with some other fine tuning. Really, I've hit a wall and can't continue. My main issue is the how to connect the smallest wing and gun. My current iteration has the wing connected to the gun, and that connected to the engine, which snaps underneath the wing. This isn't perfected yet, leaving it in pieces. If any one has suggestions of tips, they would be appreciated. 6. Hey there, i'm relative new in this forums, but not to LEGO Star Wars.. ^^ Until now, i've spent my time on Imperium der Steine, a german Lego Star wars forum. But now, i want to introduce myself here, with my first MOC. It's my version of the E-Wing Escort Starfighter, well known from the Expanded Universe. Introduced at the time of the New Republic, it was later one of the major starfighters in the New Republic's Navy. It's a single-pilot Starfighter, with support from an Astromech-droid, which is placed in a slot behind the cockpit. The Starfighter is equipped with a Shield-generator and armed with three laser-cannons and one proton-torpedo launcher. This shown model is created out of 343 bricks, including the Pilot and the Astromech-Droid. It's build in minifigure-scale and fits in it's size to the second generation (2006) x-wing. Created as a concept model in LDD. I have uploaded it on Cuusoo too, so maybe, you would support me. It would be great.. ;) Thanks, and best regards $leeper
