  1. Hi everyone, Here are the Silver Speeder and the White Witch from the 80's TV show Star Wars: Droids. I wanted to put in figs to show the scale of the vehicles but don't have anything approximating Thall Joben, or a Holiday Special era Boba Fett, so a few substitutions were made. The Silver Speeder (well, light bluish grey speeder) - 286 pieces The White Witch - 261 pieces

    [moc] R2-D2 & C3P0 mosaic

Hi Everyone, I'd like to present my mosaic artwork titled "Old Friends" First off a couple of disclaimers! #1 I know mosaics are not everyone's cup of tea, so if you've made it this far thank you! #2 You may have already seen this on my Flickr or Instagram pages, if so I apologize. I'm pretty proud of the way this one turned out so I want to share it with as many people as possible! The piece consists of 3911 parts and sits on a 4x4 base of 16 x 16 technic base plates (or bricks if you prefer). I worked hard to eliminate as many rare parts as possible. I managed to source most of the pieces from used art sets and LEGO bricks and pieces. I only used BL to acquire the 4 x 4 curved macaroni tile in yellow, 3 1/2 round stadium tiles in orange and some of the frame elements which are far less expensive there. If one was so inclined it would be possible to replace the technic baseplates with flat 32 x 32 baseplates and forgo the frame for a decent savings. Like my Boba Fett mosaic, this one comprises 3 layers of plates and tiles over baseplates. This is to give more definition to the shapes, allow for some more subtle color through layering round tiles and square plates and to add a bit of dimensionality to the image. I've been enjoying trying to get better photos of my mosaics and trying to capture what they are actually like to see in person (as opposed to the original renderings, or a straight-on shot). the frame follows the typical LEGO art technique with an integrated frame using modified 1 x 2 bricks with pin to connect the frame to the technic base plates. It also includes the technic pin connectors that acts as picture hangers to hang on the wall, though I quite like the leaning look. Instructions are available on Rebrickable. I enjoy the unique challenge of creating instructions for these mosaics. The options in stud.io aren't quite flexible enough to create user-friendly instructions so I spent a long time thinking about the hurdles and designing a solution that would work within the format we are familiar with. In the end, I came up with a simple looking matrix of part/color however accurately transcribing the data (number of pieces, style of piece, and color) was incredibly time-consuming and tedious, which involved outputting a separate model of each mosaic step, creating a parts list .xls and entering that data by hand into thee page template. I have included an example below so you can get an idea. In the future, I hope to have my wife help me code a script to do this automatically. I'm always open to constructive feedback so please do let me know what you think!

    UCS MTT MOC

Hello, after several months of building, demolishing and rebuilding, I just finished my Lego Star Wars UCS MTT MOC. I picked the MTT as a set to build a UCS style MOC for several reasons: Till today there is no Lego UCS version of the MTT. The existing Lego sets (7662 and 75058) are play sets and therefore not that accurate to the 'real' Trade Federation Multi Troop Transport. It's a challenging build, the MTT has great curves, the thing is all sloped and rounded, so a lot of trial and error fun. I like to build to minifig scale and the MTT is just 'small' enough to do this. To realise a set in minifig scale is almost impossible for the Lego company (UCS Falcon as the exemption to the rule) When I started the build I also did not see any lego MTT MOC's on the internet in minifig scale, so I wanted to fill the gap. When build to minifig scale the build is at a sweet spot in terms of size and weight. It's quite a large build, so you can work full on detail, but you can still pick it up easily and it still fits on a small table or deep bookshelf. It comes in brown , so something different than the usual Star Wars grey shades. After seeing the incredible UCS Sandcrawler of Cavegod and Marshal Banana a couple of years ago, it's clear that shades of brown can be quite interesting for a lego Star Wars build. The build is a compromise between SW universe vehicle accuracy, integrated technical functions and playability. The MTT's main function is to transport and deploy battle droids. Therefore the whole build is centered around the battle droid rack. The droid rack is deployed by a technic scissor lift that is propelled by 2 lineair actuators powered by a PF XL motor. It can also be operated manually trough the top wheel on the backside of the MTT. I wanted a droid rack with four vertical rows of droids like in the real SW universe. It can carry 48 droids (2 rows wide, 4 rows high, 6 droids in a row), so the front had to be wide enough to allow the droid rack to pass, but still small enough to take the inwards curved sides at the vehicle's narrowest point. Because of the height, there was also not a lot of room to make the bottom in the front sturdy enough. Bodywork: Different shades of brown combined with dark blue grey. I tried to go for a weathered look, as in an MTT that has seen some battles. Because of a lack of greebling opportunities I made some blastholes in the sides to go with the weathered look . Specs: Lenght: 90 studs, 70 cm/27 inches height: 35 studs, 34 cm/13 inches weight: almost 8 kg/17lbs Structure/firmness: The inside is all technic bricks and liftarms. You can easily lift the set up on the 2 sides, flex is ok. It rolls on 6 wheels, so kids can move it to play with Work in progress: trial and error to get it moving again on 2 or more lego XL motors or skip the motorized propulsion overall. When I finished building the technic frame, it could be driven by 1 PF XL motor and steered by 1 medium motor. Now with the exterior finished the 8 kg is definitly too much for one XL motor. If anyone has some experience building heavy moving lego or technic vehicles, I'm open to tips Question to the community: would adding one extra XL motor be enough to propel 8 kg? I believe the Sandcrawler MOC is double this weight and it runs (more like crawls) on 4 XL motors? making building instructions: I'm doing this in bricklink studio. I'm making progress, but It will still take a couple of months to finish them. As for a total number of pieces used, I can't say right now, I'll be able to add the number when the instructions are finished. https://www.flickr.com/photos/191523974@N02/albums/72157717588828336 I've posted some pics on my flickr account:

    [MOC] Droideka

I had actually built these over a year ago, but it just hit me today that I never posted them online. I was aiming to find a balance between something that's close to minifig scale, albeit without sacrificing detail and functionality. It was the advent of part 26047 Plate, Modified 1 x 1 Rounded with Handle that enabled me to build these so that the front legs can rotate inward when switching to the rolling mode. I have six completed droidekas that I decided to pose at different angles alongside a B1 and B2 battle droid for reference. I will provide a parts list and breakdown if requested.

    [MOC] Clone Ambush On Naboo

Here, the clones are trying to scale a rock face with the hope of ambushing a droid camp near some ruins. Meanwhile, the Separatists are inspecting the ruins, with the help of a local archaeologist. Been toying around with other themes for a bit, so I've not really made any Star Wars MOCs in a while, but I built this to get back into it. Tried some different rock and water techniques with it, as well as attempting an (admittedly pretty simple) cheese slope floor design for part of the ruins. Overall though, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

MOC: City of Paxal on Centurion

Hi everyone, I finished another build. This is the city of Paxal on Centurion. The place to be for shopping, interaction with other cultures and species. Rent a car and explore the city. There are a lot of bridges to take you to other buildings with more shops or clubs. For more pictures visit my Flickr album. Feedback is appreciated.

    [FIGS] Vintage Droid CMFs

Hi all! Recently I cooked up something unusual. What happens when you put together the new and the old? Pieces and ideas, that is? I have never owned any of the droids or even been into Space sets and whatnot, so wasn't infatuated with these three classic buggers until I picked them up very recently. I also own UFO droids, but those aren't as charismatic or distinctive. By combining mostly vintage Lego pieces and sneaking in a few new ones, I made a custom "VHS" trio complete with printed stands to resemble the CMF series. One thing to note: times have changed, and so has the trio's purpose... First: the white Exploriens Droid. Enemies will not be walking - heavy hammer does the talking! Second: Insectoids Droid. The menacing cannon's electromagnetic, the enemies better be very athletic! Third: Spyrius Droid. Tracking foes with recon bot, slashing them with plasma sword! That's it, folks! Weaponizing the trio was not my aim, but it just so happened that everything fell into place this way. Cheers, and comments are welcome!

Star Wars: Micro MOCs | mini kits

Hi everyone! I'm quite new, but I build lego Star Wars MicroMOCs; in other words 'mini minikits'. I got my ideas from the Star Wars advent calendar series- style micro kits. I have built over 200 so far and I'm still going, so if you want to see any of these regularly, check out my facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/James.Arts2172 and my YouTube Channel "James_Arts_2172: Lego" https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmYOMZz6DyvM1euY2qrRfpA All I did was go through every page of both DK Star Wars Visual Dictionaries and build every single ship and vehicle in them. Of course I have made many more besides (2014-present sets, Ep 7, Rogue One, Clone Wars, Rebel, Force Unleashed, Old Republic).

    LEGO Geonosian Arena MOC

This is my rendition of the Geonosian Arena from STAR WARS Attack Of The Clones. This has always been one of LEGO's most glaring omissions from the Star Wars line, hence why I decided to test out this MOC. OK, it's not excessively massive or complicated, but I just think it makes a neat little playset. Comment your opinions. Also don't forget to check out my LEGO IDEAS page for more information on this, and please support! :) from there you can read all about the design plan, the history, and also see any other photos of the MOC. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/158217
  13. I am not the first to have built BB-8 out of Lego or at a UCS scale, but I couldn't resist building my own version after having a surplus of white plates left over from my other project. Hope you like BB-8 joining the droid family. The Red astromech droid is R5-D4 from ANH. Awesome Foursome by Miro Dudas, on Flickr cheers Miro

    [MOC] Kashyyyk

Hi everyone, This is the first Star Wars MOC I post on Eurobricks. It is almost four and a half years ago I made a Star Wars MOC. I was an exhibitor at an event in the south of the Netherlands. The MOC is inspired from the scenes of Revenge of the Sith and the landscapes from Legoland Germany and Denmark. The landscape is 2 by 6 XL plates big and it has a lot of details. When I see landscapes of Star Wars, I see mostly Endor, Hoth or Christophsis. That is the reason why I wanted Kashyyyk. Here is the link to the pictures. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=553473 Comments and/or feedback are welcome. It is the first Star Wars MOC in years. Sander

    [MOC] WIP minifig scale MTT

I am taking on my largest MOC yet, a fully (minifig) sized multi-troop transport. I will be updating this thread with picturs as I go along. It will feature a two floor droid deployment rack, rear space for destroyers, and even a retrofitted Super battle droid rack. It will, however, NOT be in accurate colors due to my lack of suffecent brown or separatist blue. Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)
  18. Hi! This is my second MOC, which based on "The attack of the clones". Scenses from the movie: Some bonuses. On the first photo there's my first episode II MOC. And on the second and on the third photos there's a version with new-style figures. Thanks for watching!

    [MOC] Droideka

This is my rendition of the classic Droideka (Destroyer Droid) seen in The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. LEGO's most recent incarnation was a disappointment, but my model here is meant to do justice to the droids. It can easily roll up and is highly detailed. It has 40 pieces. This is the backside.
