    Life in Allanar Forest

One collab wasn’t enough, and we just managed to squeeze in a second build before Isaac returned to Denmark. It’s yet another scene set in our Alnya, and we returned to our roots by making it viewable from all sides, and even including a full interior! It fits on a 48×48 baseplate and is an entry in the Civilian Building category of the CCC. Extra credit to John for handling the last details and photography! Allanar Forest is home to one of the largest Dwelf communities in Alnya. Its beautiful trees, plentiful wildlife, and rich soil are a perfect match for the Dwelfs favorite pastimes of raising livestock, nurturing gardens, finding new uses for herbs, crafting beautiful cottages, and of course eating. See more images on Brickbuilt. Always feels good to post something new for the Guilds

    A-Frame Cabin

A-Frame Cabin An architectural icon from 1950 to about 1975, the A-frame is one of my favourite rural homes ever, a triangle-design built for lounging on outdoor decks and staring at nature. I built this cabin inspired, in part, by Harlan Hubbard's book Payne Hollow, about living a simpler life in a hand-built home. The author is considered by many a modern-day Thoreau. Two brothers, Dan and Ethan, burned out on modern working believed that stripping away modern comforts and living more simply in nature would lead to a more spiritually an creatively fulfilling life. They looked for a cabin in the woods and finally found out this old wooden A-Frame Cabin. They fixed up it and now they live there happily. It's not my first cabin in the woods but it was very funny building the "A" structure and trying to add many weird details. I also played with the light to let the scene as deep as possible. To build the basement I ripped off the clever hammers technique by Letranger Absurde. Below few pictures Hope you like it!

    [MOC] Santa's Cottage

It's Christmas Time...Santa's Cottage (on LEGO IDEAS too) It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas and as usual in this period it's time for a Christmas themed creation. This cozy shelter is the home of Santa Claus, who is preparing his world tour for delivering gifts. It's called Santa's Cottage and you can support it on LEGO IDEAS too. If you like the bizarre Santa's Cottage please consider to give it a chance of becoming an actual LEGO IDEAS set. You can shortcut straight to LEGO IDEAS platform using this handy link: https://bit.ly/Santas-Cottage-Norton74 Santa's Cottage features a classic Xmas color scheme, an uncommon shape and an unconventional doors/windows style. The main feature is probably the asymmetrical roof with a very sloping shape to the left. The woodshed is located under the excess roof. The red/white/black color combo is simple but effective, and the snowy trees in the background match well. Last but not least the door and windows are round, a shape rarely spotted on a cottage, but quite common in Hobbit houses. Santa, who is coming home from a relaxing walk, has also a nice off-road vehicle painted with a color scheme matching with the cottage. You can spot it on the right. This is probably my last MOC for this year and I wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

    Alnya Mountain Lodge

It felt great to build something winter and castle again! This was an entry for the miscellaneous category of the Colossal Castle Contest. Special thanks to John for the main photo edit. Small lodges are common in Alnya to offer shelter and supplies for the various hunters and adventurers often far from towns or villages. On this snowy morning, Rydel sets out with his two dogs for a fine day of hunting. There are several game trails nearby that he feels confident will result in a good harvest. See more pictures on Brickbuilt.

    [MOC] The Blue Cottage

The Blue Cottage My latest creation is a rural house that joins my series of weird houses I have built in the last two years ("Walden", Joe's Cottage, A-frame Cabin, Stilt Houses etc ..). My goal was to build a cozy country house featuring three new elements: an uncommon color scheme, a shape that I hadn't used before and an unconventional doors/windows shape. The main feature is probably the asymmetrical roof with a very sloping shape to the left. The woodshed is located under the excess roof. The uncommon blue/black color combo is simple but effective, and the yellow trees in the background match well. Last but not least the door and windows are round, a shape never seen on a cottage but quite common in Hobbit houses. The host, who is coming home from a hunting trip, has a nice off-road vehicle painted with a color scheme matching with the cottage. It was very funny building the "long sloping roof" structure and trying to add a few weird details. I also played with the light to let the scene as deep as possible. Hope you like it!

    [MOC] Stilt Houses

Stilt Houses: how to live 30 feet in the air! Partially inspired by the films of the masterful animation filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki - I'm not actually referring to a particular film but rather its unique style and atmospheres - my latest creation features two weird guys living 30 feet in the air in minimal but cozy stilt houses. The starting point for this work was the tent on the right stilt house, a very strange and forgotten element from a mid-2000s Indiana Jones set. At first I was thinking of a single pile dwelling then I added the second on the left joined by a crumbling bridge. And gradually I inserted various details and elements, some of which are really bizarre. The off-road vehicle is ready to deal with mud and rough terrain and complete with all the necessary tools to fix it yourself in case. It is based on my previous Chevrolet Blazer spotted in the Sheriff Hopper's Cabin diorama built in 2019. There are many other details and strange pieces, have fun finding them and if you have any questions write them below in the comments! Thanks for watching!

    [MOC] Santa's Cabin

As usual in this period it's time for a Christmas themed creation and this is a cozy shelter for Santa Claus and his reindeer. Speaking of the brand new reindeer it's really cute! The house is a typical A-frame cabin, a kind of cottage I do really like. This is probably my last MOC for this year and I wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! (hoping that it will be better than 2020) Thanks for stopping by! Merry Christmas and happy new year!

    [MOC] Joe's Cottage

Joe's Cottage (and Joe's tow truck) Joe is a lonely guy. He lives in his tan wooden cottage somewhere in the woods. His mates are birds and chickens. He loves driving his tow truck and he always helps people who are in breakdown on their way. My latest creation was inspired by a Japanese model maker who makes little cottages and shacks in the woods. I added few NPU like the speargun as light holder, pistons on the electricity pole, Ninjago hat on the chimney and some other even on the tow truck. I tried to photograph the scene making it alive and warm, it seems to me there is a nice atmosphere due to the light sideways. Take a moment to appreciate all the small details that all add up to this rustic scene. It was very funny building this and even more catching the details to insert via period pictures spotted on the web. Hope you like it!

    [MOC] Witch Cottage

This witch house is part of a community layout from Lowlug. This layout was seen at Legoworld Utrecht 2019 and Bricks am Meer 2019 in Germany. My module was seen at Legoworld. I’ve built a witch cottage, where dark rituals and spells are used. I’ve added a play feature in this module, the witch cottage can be opened and have a full interior. 10. About 2 years ago the original version of my MOC Olivia’s Get-Away was created as some of you may remember. Unfortunatly after I took pictures of it, it fell and exploded into thousands of pieces scattered all over the floor. Ever since I was rebuilding from memory in between other projects as I really like this one a lot. While rebuilding, I’ve redesigned the MOC a bit. A year ago, the original version ran on LEGO Ideas but didn't gather the needed supports to proceed to be an official LEGO set. Here we are now, the updated version of Olivia’s Get-Away is finished! It now is build modular, with removable top floor and roof! The bottom even opens up to improve playability and to reveal its new and detailed interior! To me the MOC stands for a peaceful and calm getaway from daily chaos and stress. The colors used are easy on the eye and work pretty well together. Also this creation shows there’s more into a Castle theme than just knights in shining armor defending their castles from rival factions. Instructions now available at Rebrickable.com https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-35444/PeetersKevin/olivias-get-away/#info https://www.flickr.com/gp/46736604@N07/61Ko71
  11. CHALLENGE I: Repairs in Sir Patman's Cottage "Once the balance and peace was established in Historica, Patman decided to return to his family's cottage, after a long time of absence. Unfortunatelly, his fears came true as he saw his family's property ruined. The war had left its wounds. A heavy catapult projectile stone had hit the house ruining the walls and part of the roof. Luckily, his family was well-respected in the area, as his parents were good and joyful to everyone. So, he managed to find quickly the best crue in the area to fix his home. This crue, was the well-known Dworf Repairs group. Sir Patman's Cottage Sir Patman's Cottage - Rear View Workings in the Yard Repairs in the Roof and inspection of the House While he was wandering around the ruins, he managed to find a passage to the basement, so he decided to check the condition in which it was after so many years. Removing the ruins and fixing the roof An old neighbour came by to help, by making food As he was carefully going down the stairs carrying his lantern, he saw something on the floor, that he had never noticed as a child. It seemed like an arrow, pointing to one side of the wall. The Basement As he walked closer, he noticed a compass being hanged in that particular point. As he was checking it out, he found that it was pointing in the wrong direction and he tried to correct it. Then, all of a sudden, the wall moved, revealing a secret room. After the first shock, he decided to explore it, discovering the armor and the belongings of his Great Grandfather, the first Sir Patman the Lionmane, along with the deeds of Neapolis, a city that was founded by his long gone ancestor. Exploring the Secret Room Sir Patman's the Lionmane Armor Having no family left, nor anything else to keep him in his home, he decided to descover the truth about his family's mysterious past and the reason it was kept a secret." The above creation, is my first true modular of this size, and I enjoyed a lot, builting it. More stories will follow for Sir Patman. I hope you like it. You can find more pictures at my FlickR

    Mitgardian Farmhouse

Entry number four into the Colossal Castle Contest XVI. I built this house for another project, but figured I might as well enter it into the miscellaneous category. There is a full interior inside the house, accessed via lift off roof. I'll be using this build in a tutorial covering how to angle buildings on landscapes in the future - but it probably won't be posted until the CCC is done Many farmers have small homesteads in the tundra of Mitgardia. This particular family’s livestock consists of chickens and goats. You can find more images on Brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, and feedback is always appreciated

    Casualties of War

Casualties of War Chapter I: The Tranquil Meadow Chapter II: Old Bagshaw's Residence Chapter III: The Poacher Chapter IV: Making Camp Chapter V: Solitary Council Chapter VI: Escaping Home Chapter VII: Waylaid Chapter VIII: Archery Practice Chapter IX: Honour the Fallen Chapter X: Casualties of War Bonus Landscape: Avalonian Countryside - 'I don't see why we can't just make camp like usual', Harlon argued. 'Never had anything good coming from meddling with the locals.' - 'That's because you treat common people like dirt', objected Nyle. 'People don't generally want to help anyone that thinks of them as a nuisance. If you could just play nice for once we might even have a shot at some nice homecooked food and some indoor sleeping.' Sir Darby didn't quite share Nyle's optimism. Like Harlon, he preferred to not involve more people than necessary when on the road. But he was also conscious that Nyle might be needing a break from everything, if only for one night. - 'Well, it won't hurt to ask', he stated. 'Why don't I go over and check if anyone's home and if they happen to have some spare food and perhaps someplace to sleep?' - 'I'm coming along', Nyle stated. - 'Fine. I'll just stay here so my unpleasant personality doesn't ruin your prospects', Harlon said wryly. - 'You do as you please', Nyle replied and urged his horse towards the small cottage. Sir Darby sighed. Somehow, getting these two to get along seemed harder than keeping up the morale in a camp full of soldiers. - 'We will be right back', he told Harlon and moved to catch up to Nyle. As Sir Darby and Nyle approached the cottage an old man came out to meet them. Sir Darby could also spot a younger woman in the doorway, peeking out at them with a worried expression. Sir Darby dismounted. - 'Evening sir. We are travellers on our way to Newquay. We were wondering if you might...', Sir Darby started. - 'No, we do not', the old man interrupted. Sir Darby took a moment to recover from being cut off. - 'All we're asking is...', he continued. - 'But you're not asking, are you?', the old man interrupted again. 'You are obviously men of importance, and men of importance never ask men of no consequence like me for anything. You demand and you take.' Sir Darby assessed the situation. There was obviously nothing for them to gain here and they should head back and look for a proper campsite. Still, he felt himself sympathise with this old man. Anger and hurt were no strangers to Sir Darby, though it was long since he had let them touch him - a man in his position could not afford to. Yet these feelings were clearly recognisable on this man's face. This house had experienced loss, most likely on the battlefield in service of Avalonia. Probably the husband of the young woman peering out at them, which would make it the man's son or son-in-law. - 'I'm sorry for your loss', Sir Darby offered. The man's face betrayed a short moment of surprise, before pain and determination again took over. - 'What does that do for us?', he asked sternly. 'Is that going to bring our family back to us? Men like you came and took my son away without warning! One moment we were plowing the fields and the next I watched him march off in a long row of dirty young men.' The man continued. - 'Would that all you did was take something away from us though, but your pack of filthy recruits brought something to us as well. The plague.' The man began to tear up. - 'My wife caught it, but she didn't tell me, and I was too busy making up for my son's absence at the farm to notice. Then one day she showed me her blackened foot and told me she had to leave. I told her she couldn't leave, that we should go see Mr. Oates, that he would help us. She agreed, but the next morning when I woke up, she was gone. Gone, never to come back. In a matter of weeks our family had destroyed, and for what? For you to have one more person to throw away in your little game of war?' The old man sighed, the anger giving way to dejectedness. - 'In the beginning we held out hope that Thom might return, but months turned to years, and we knew he was not coming back. Not that anyone had the decency to tell us, but we knew. When I saw you coming I thought that maybe... maybe we would get word of what had happened. To have confirmed what we already know. But you are just another person here to get something from us. I'm sorry, but all that we could possibly give has already been taken away from us. You took it from us. We have nothing left.' Sir Darby looked at the man for a moment. There was nothing he could do for him. His son might even have been under his own command. Perhaps he had sent him to his death. He had had a number of Thom's serving under him, but there was no way to tell if it had been this man's son. He could not offer him the closure that he needed. One thing he knew though, that he was responsible for this man's suffering. Perhaps not directly in this case, but how many more like him were suffering for the choices he had made as a commander? In this moment, that burden weighed heavier on his shoulders than it had ever done. Sir Darby mounted his horse and started back to Harlon. Nyle followed suit. - 'Life has dealt you a poor hand', he thought to himself. He was not sure whether he was referring to the man or himself. *** Been quite a while since I last built for Avalonia, but the Swedish Lego Maffia gave me an offer I couldn't refuse, so here I am ;) Seriously though, I have had this cottage (minus the roof) standing around for over a year, trying to figure a good way to make thatch for the next episode in this story line. It finally clicked about a month ago, and so here is the finished product. Feeling a bit rusty with the story telling, but whether it's good or not, writing is fun :) Ironically for such an old build, I actually ended up having a deadline for its completion as the LEGO Store in Copenhagen wanted to display it, so a few details that could have used some extra work had to be left as is. Hope you enjoy the build either way :) Happy to be back in any case!

    Avalonian Cottage

Here is the second small building I built for the Guilds of Historica display at Brickworld. Like my first house, it was placed on Kevin’s island. I have been wanting to use bright light orange for a thatched roof for some time, and finally got around to doing so with this model. Few pictures of the whole GoH display at Brickworld: More pictures of the cottage are available on Brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, and as always, your feedback is appreciated

    [MOC] Tuscany cottage

Hi everyone, today I present a MOC that I just realized recently for a specific occasion: the Lego Event in Florence (Brick in Florence Festival 2017). Tuscany landscapes have always been in my heart, in the last 15 years I have traveled several times in spring and summer in a specific area of Tuscany that is the "Crete Senesi". In this geographical area that starts from the south of Siena to the town of Pienza there are landscapes formed by sinuous hills with cottages and cypresses. For years I have been photographing these areas and I could not miss creating a MOC dedicated to this land. As an inspiration I used a picture of mine that you can see here: http://www.unafotoalgiorno.it/portfolio/visgallery.php?cat=paesaggi&id=11838 Between design and construction it took only one month, I think it's one of the MOCs I've made faster in my story than AFOL! I had little time but the ideas clear enough of what I wanted to accomplish. With just 4 Bricklink orders made all the same day, I did nothing but wait for them to come home and then all the construction took place within a couple of weeks (in time scraps). It is a very simple moc, it is not composed of special techniques. I still had a lot of fun building it because I partly resumed my memories of photographic travels I did in the past. flickr gallery: https://www.flickr.com/photos/sdrnet/albums/72157690184763535 Hope you like it and if you have questions I am available! Bye, Sandro

    Fîn The Farmer

Younger brother of Ol' Colby, Fîn was always the odd one out. Carrots had never really appealled to him growing up, much to the dissapointment of his family. However, keen to make them proud he set off, and through some hardwork, trade and a touch of blackmail he ended up with a prime piece of real estate and his very own farm. Built in a week and a half for the Dunedin Brick Show I am pretty pround of it. It is veiwable from 3 sides ( a masssive acheivement for me) and even looks good :p It also won me best young exhibitor, which was the icing on the cake Very much inspired again by Legonardo and Derfel Cadarn. Now onto the GoH anniversary. Does it ever stop? Hope you enjoy and C&C welcomed.
  17. HI guys, I want to share with you this interview we did to the builder of this MOC. As it is in Italian, turn on subtitles in English. Let me know if you are interested in other MOC videos exhibited in Italian events.
  18. I wanted to create some different areas based on the four elements represented by the four main elves, I've mixed parts from all kinds of different sets to create these places. This one is the earth themed home for Farran the Earth Elf. I wanted it to be part cottage, part treehouse. It's mostly parts from The Elves Treetop Hideaway and the Ewok Village sets. I attached my waterfall cave alongside the treehouse I also made a fire themed volcano cave with a tall treehouse/tower neighbouring it. It's mostly made from a Lego Friends set that has a cabin and a waterfall. I kept the cabin and built the tower above it and changed the waterfall into a volcano. I've created a workshop for the Air Elf Aira in one section of the tower with a bedroom above it, an observing platform with a telescope above that and a turret room on the top. The webisodes show that Azari the fire elf is homeless and just crashes with the other elves, but I've given her a warm place to sleep inside the volcano. I kept the camp beds in the cabin for the humans to sleep in when they visit Elvendale. And here's some random pictures..

    MOC- Medieval Cottage

Here is my latest build for the Robin Hood display I'm working on. I still have to post Nottingham Castle, the medieval windmill, and medieval blacksmith shop plus build Sherwoods Forest. If you like this model or my Medieval Watermill please support the ideas here: Medieval Cottage https://ideas.lego.com/projects/170226 Medieval Watermill https://ideas.lego.com/projects/159800 Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks for your support and let me know if anybody needs me to vote for their projects! Life was not always easy in Lego medieval times especially for this family who were once peasants. They used to live in a one-room house made of straw, sticks and mud which they shared with their animals. Until one day, Hagrid the man of the house decided he was going to free his wife and son from a life of great hardships. This was not easy but Hagrid convinced his master to let him fight in a local tournament for a share of the prize. Hagrid managed to win the tournament against the overwhelming odds and moved his social status overnight. He no longer worked for his master and earned a life as a nobleman for the King. The family was awarded land and built a two-story cottage made of stone and half timbers. The Elf-Witch Cottage

The Elf-Witch Cottage In the depths of the enchanted woods, where reality and fantasy meet, an elf-witch has lived since forever. Nobody knows her name or her exact age, maybe 100, maybe 1000 years, but it doesn't matter, she's part of the woods she lives in now. She's always busy with her magic potions and her studies… fascinated by nature's incredible colors and shapes, she keeps on living in her house, away from the rest of the world. I've always been fascinated by nature, by its colors, and by the fantasy universe. In this project I tried to put it all together, using unusual parts and colors that I'd underestimated before. I'm very satisfied with the result. You can look at more pictures here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/vedosololego/albums/72157682099871646 Or You can support on LEGO Ideas here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/172038 Thank You

    [MOC] Cabin on the bayou

Hello residents of Historica! Would like to happily present my third moc. This is my second moc for GoH, and Nocturnus. (You can check the first one here, which is a vignette.) I built this moc in LDD first, because i've started to use that program not too long ago, and i am liking it very much. This way i can try a lot of things, and variations on a moc, and if i decide to build it in real life, i can save a lot on bricks, because of the parts list provided by LDD. I wrote a short story again, and continue to give you some background information on my character, Gutkeled the Tangled. Here we go! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Saga of Gutkeled the Tangled II. From the Cradle to the Vague I.: After Gutkeled the Tangled saved Cailleach Bheur, they agreed to team up and travel together temporarily. They headed south south- east, towards the coast. The mighty Kyrrath Mountains indicated the right direction for a while. Both of them could use the company, and it was safer together. Lots of nasty things were going on in the grim and dark lands of Nocturnus on any day, but now with the civil war raging, it was more than worse. Nobody was safe! Eventually they reached Skavenport, and paid for a ferry to one of the nearby islands, where Gutkeled had a small boat, and a cabin deep on the bayou. He invited Cally for a meal. - Cozy wee but an' ben ye got here! - took a looksy around, as she sat down. - Thank you! I've build it with my two hands! Carved it out of the wilderness here. Kind of reminds me of home! - said Gutkeled, and served some food, and refreshments. - How lang have ye been living here? - asked Cally before the first bite into a scone. - A few years i guess! Who counts, eh?! - smiled the taciturn man, with a face full of buns. - Come on! Whit are ye feart of, loon! Cat got yer tongue?! No gaun to sit here in silence, listening to yer munching! Tell me a tale from yer early years! Whit did ye dae as a bairn?! Where did ye live? - forced the vamp a story, so Gutkeled gave into it. - Okay- okay! Just let me collect my thoughts, and swallow my morsel! Those were eventful years of my life for sure. - sighed the man, then began. - When I reminisce about all those years, I see many things. Life and death strung together, like the meadows and forests in which we lived. There was family and adventure, but also solitude and uncertainty. There was laughter and joy, and there was also sadness, and tears. But even more than tears, blood was shed. And so many were left to their unadorned graves, unburied. But to me, death was just another journey. Through the darkness, which i'm striding unflinchingly into the unknown, on a path paved with gray stone. And after all, when I reminisce about those years, I mostly remember green. Endless forest on the West, began from an end, filled with magic. Mysterious, and proud folk with pointy ears shaped like mine. Eerie atmosphere all around, isles constantly covered in thick fog. Light drizzle falling on me face. Mother's long ginger hair dancing in the cool, early moring breeze, as we were scouting the trail father suppose to arrive with the rising sun. Sometimes you could catch the gleam of his sword's blade on a clear day... - Wus he a knight? Yer auld man? - Cailleach slid to the edge of her chair curiously, interrupting Gutkeled's monologue. - Well, he was a warrior if needed. Always in the heart. A wanderer, seeker of forgotten tales, poet on other days. He was from the frozen lands, all year snow and mountains. Long nights and ale contests, pale lights and pine forests. Leifr Bárðrsson, clansman. Son of Bárðr, and Þórunn - the yellowish green faced man described his father, and his background passionately. - Dinna fancy they norsemen. Their blood is somehow feels cauld. Brrr!!! Shiver runs doon ma spine just as ah think of it! Whit did ya put in ma medd anyway? Tastes like a wicked witch on a rainy day! - twitched the woman from the bitter beverage that her host introduced her to. - It's the blood berry, Cally! That is what gives its sourness, and the scarlet color. I call this marsh mead. Fremented it meself - smirked Gutkeled, and sipped some from his green goblet. - Now that ye mention blood, ah wull need some soon! Cannot live on mead, bannock and buns. No offense chiel! Ye're a good cook, but ah just need a wee bit of me poison if ye ken what ah mean! Don't we aw?! - grinned the hungry vampire, as her eyes lit up with a twinkle, and her fangs appeared in her opened mouth. - All right! All right! Let me just finish my meal, and then i'll escort you to somebody i know, and can help you out with your... needs! - capitulated Gutkeled, and started to destroy the rest of the contents of his plate. - Guid! Ca' canny now! Don't choke on it! On oor way, ye can tell me mair aboot yerself! - pried the lady a bit. She was interested in Gutkeled. Saw something in him. Didn't know what. Yet! Maybe potential, opportunity! One thing was for sure. He didn't look like an average tree hugger, or a frost- blooded. The skin, the ears... Was he some kind of drow, or elf? Was Gutkeled even his real name? And what was about with that death thing? Too many questions rose up in the mind of Cailleach Bheur, but she had to wait a wee bit to learn everything. She knew she must tag along! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The cabin in LDD: Original LDD version: hut001_6 by Erhard Maas, on Flickr In real life: Updated: IMG_20170131_130413 by Erhard Maas, on Flickr IMG_20170131_130453 by Erhard Maas, on Flickr IMG_20170131_130610 by Erhard Maas, on Flickr IMG_20170131_130543 by Erhard Maas, on Flickr Interior: IMG_20170124_105217 by Erhard Maas, on Flickr IMG_20170124_105253 by Erhard Maas, on Flickr IMG_20170124_105324 by Erhard Maas, on Flickr Thanks for watching! Swedish Cottage

A typical Swedish cottage that I made for a competition over at Swebrick. Dark red cottages with white corners is as traditional as it gets over here :) Was very frustrating to work in such a small space, but happy with how it turned out in the end. Hope you like it

    Forest Cottage

My fourth entry to the CCC XIV, for the Woodland Hideaway category. The layout and design of the house were inspired by this image. The bottom-right window lights up, and the river is made of SNOT cheese slopes. Herbert the hermit lives in a cozy cottage nestled in the Western Woods. He lives a secluded life, preferring to spend his time tending to his gardens, and feeding his many animal friends. More pictures on Brickbuilt Thanks for looking, C&C welcome

    Ol' Colby's Cottage

Passed down from father to son, carrot farming ran in Colby's blood. When he was a boy he used to eat them every day. Stewed, boiled and even mashed, it didn't matter how ya cooked em, Colby would eat it. When he had inherited his fathers cottage he had been overjoyed. It sat on the edge of the woods beside a small stream. The perfect environment for growing carrots. The house could do with a bit of a fix up, but as long as there were carrots, Colby was happy. So here it is. I would have posted it earlier but as this is my first time editing, it took me a while to get sorted. A couple tips on how to improve my editing would be welcomed. Over all I think I nailed the build, with the rock work being the only thing that annoys me. I love the leans, the Tudor work and stone work. All were inspired by DC and LD. The weather vane (yes, that's a weather vane ) was a nod to Legonardo's moc "house of chaos" which helped me build this, it's meant to be a chicken but I don't have any chickens so I used a brick built one. The trees were fun to try out but the roof was not as rickety as I would have liked it but eh, its OK. I am also going to be putting my saga to the side and focus on some different builds over the next weeks. C&C needed and hope you enjoy.
  25. These were my contributions to the Ye Old Merry Battleground layout at BFVA. The Vermillion realm (red) and the Cerulean realm (blue) are at war! The land's greatest heroes go head to head in many epic battles where breaches are made on both sides. The forest men who dwell outside of the two realms' protection acted upon the war's opportunity and planned their own schemes for riches. As you cross between the realms, beware of bandits, swindlers, and dragons. Be sure to check out the full write-up of the display on InnovaLUG.com.
