Duel on Cloud City Diorama MOC

This is my very own Bespin Duel on Cloud City Diorama MOC built of LEGO bricks: And yes, Instructions are available --> link in my signature :D As I already stated in my latest thread, where I introduced you my new LEGO display build "Bespin Cloud City Arrival and Betrayal Diorama MOC", I was highly disappointed with LEGO's latest 75222 "Betrayal on Cloud City" set, because of it's lack of accurate design, childish little rooms, amount of sticker sheets, pricing, etc.So I designed 2x giant display builds of Cloud City. Important to notice is the fact that I made both MOCs in honor of the 40th anniversary of THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK this Year. This one here is the 2nd and final build and is called "Bespin Duel on Cloud City Diorama MOC" (The outside is designed to represent an accurate slice of the giant Gas-Processing Vane where the Carbonite Freezing Chamber and the Sensor Balcony are located in): The Diorama depicts 2 different locations inside/outside the Gas-Processing Vane: Main Control Room and the Sensor Balcony."Description": Main Control Room that is directly connected to the Side Corridor, Curved Hallway and Viewport that leads to the outer railing Control Room features 3x Control Panel Consoles with cabling, a Control Holotable, Piping throughout the walls and 2x metal shelves with crates placed inside easy access to the Curved Hallway from the front- and backside outer railing with handrail, lights and staircase on both sides that leads to the doorway and Sensor Balcony doorway includes a short part of the iconic triangular shaped hallway design as well Sensor Balcony platform features highly accurate antennas and piping and is built in a way to handle the front-heavy structure I am especially proud of the fact that you can recreate the entire duel sequence between Vader and Luke, once they exit the Carbonite Freezing Chamber.Additionally, the entire model can be divided into 2 stand-alone modular sections as shown in the pictures, not only for easy transport, but each section can be displayed on it’s own.You can recreate the iconic duel between Luke and Vader and follow them while fighting, starting with the Main Control Room where Luke gets sucked out of the Viewport, his sneak around on the railing, and the final fight on the Sensor Balcony followed by the most epic revelation in cinema history …!What do you guys think ? Does this Diorama MOC justice to the Giant Gas-Processing Vane shown in TESB and Vader/Luke's iconic duel on Cloud City ?
  2. This is my very own Bespin Cloud City Arrival and Betrayal Diorama MOC built of LEGO bricks: And yes, Instructions are available --> link in my signature :D Before I'm talking about some of the details included in this build, I want to explain shortly why I decided to design this MOC:When in 2017 rumors about an upcoming LEGO Cloud City UCS set were first published, I was super excited! The one and only Cloud City build we got was in 2003, not counting the small 30 bucks Carbon Freezing Chamber. And I started speculating: Will it be a display set that represents Cloud City in its entirety from the outside or a diorama consisting of connected rooms and locations equivalent to 2003? What minifigs will be included, hopefully a new Lando, Leia and Luke minifig? One year later, in late 2018, LEGO officially revealed the 75222 "Betrayal at Cloud City" set, part of the new established "Master Builder Series". And like many others, I was highly dissappointed with nearly everything, except the truly remarkable minifig-selection: Childish little rooms, lacking details, most of them created using large stickers, a midi-scale Slave I, and last but not least, the price. At that time I promised myself to design an accurate and detailed Cloud City build, using a similar approach like 2003's "Cloud City" set. Now, let's jump right into my new Cloud City Diorama: I made this MOC in honor of the 40th anniversary of THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK this Year. I designed this Upper-Cloud City-build 2 months ago, but now finally found some time to publish it. Because Episode V is my all time favorite STAR WARS movie, I challenged myself to make the best Cloud City-model I could possibly design, and therefore I worked 4 intense weeks, days and nights, on it. I used over 100 pictures of source material and watched the movie-sequence over and over again, to spot all the details, no matter how small or big. Cloud City Arrival and Betrayal Diorama depicts a total of 9 different locations: Landing Platform 327, Entrance Hall, Main and Side Corridor, Viewport, North Corridor, Control Room, Incinerator Room, Dining Room. Description: smoothly vertical sliding Entrance Door that locks in place once opened Entrance Hall that is directly connected to 2x Side Corridors and the Main Corridor by taking a few steps up or down Main Corridor / Promenade features angled walls with mural reliefs and a tree sculpture in the center Viewport with rounded stairs curved North Corridor with several pillar arches and an indicated door smoothly vertical sliding door that unveils the Control Room where C-3PO gets blasted Garbage Processing “Incinerator” Room on the backside with a ton of greebling and droid scrap, an angled Incinerator as well as a conveyor belt in the center smoothly horizontal sliding door that leads to the Dining Room, which features a long table with food and drinks on top, seating for 7 minifigs, angled walls and art decorations. => You can recreate a total of 14 movie scenes from Episode V with this Diorama! Additionally, the entire model can be divided into 3 stand-alone modular sections as shown in the pictures, not only for easy transport, but each section can be displayed on it’s own without having compromises in terms of otherwise hidden design gaps. What do you guys think ?
