  1. It has been almost 8 months I didn't post anything here. Often too busy at work and thus I only build during holidays. Here are my new additions to my BrickheadZ horror movie series. Instead of posting them one by one under individual topic, I now post them all at one time. I am afraid there is no more characters which I think worth building. First of all.... 2. As I'm impatiently waiting for a few BrickLink orders to add the finishing touches to my very first GoH MOC, I began to doodle a few inhabitants for my Mitgardian village Horgaard. Then it went out of control. I got really enthusiastic with the definition of each character, their story, their personality, and then the selection of the appropriate parts. It felt like designing costumes for a theatre play. Now Horgaard has many inhabitants, but still no finished building... Horgaard Inhabitants by Aurore, sur Flickr From left to right : - Dagmar Haraldsdottir, ruler of Horgaard, with her sister and advisor Sigrid (my sigfig) - "See, sister, everything is well in Horgaard. Stop worrying about the constuction delays and try this excellent plum pie." - Their niece Solveig, showing her new doll to the blacksmith's wife under the watchful eye of her tutor (and of a cow) - "She's named Nanna!" - The innkeeper, who hates pigs unless they've been turned into ham - "Foul beasts!" - Solveig's older brother Sigmund, with the steward of Horgaard and veteran soldier Arne, respectfully waiting while the blacksmiths checks the blade of the steward's sword. Behind them, Snorri the storyteller arrives in Horgaard - "Greetings everyone, how is the new granary construction going?" - Solveig and Sigmund's little brother Siggi, friend to all living things, befriending one of the pigs lead by a young farmer - "Hi little guy!" - The blacksmith's daughter and a young hunter discussing the comparative merits of the longbow and the slingshot - "You should give it a try!" - The fisherwoman, a woodcutter and the village elder having a hard time with uncooperative animals - "Hey lady, may I help you?" And in case anyone would be interested, I've added a few close-up shots as spoiler. Thanks to all the brave souls who would have read the whole description!

  5. Starting a thread for brick built characters from Rogue One. Ever since the first photos and the first trailer, I have wanted to build Jyn Erso in fully articulated brick built form. So here I am starting with Jyn Erso. Hopefully I will get a chance to build more of the characters from Rogue One. If anyone else would like to join, feel free to post in this thread with your version of Jyn Erso or other characters from Rogue One. I am a Rebel, I rebel by Miro Dudas, on Flickr Miro

    [MOC] Vintage Space Memorial

In memory of the legendary achievements of the first Lego astronauts, Admiral Takayama from the Futuron-Starfleet has revealed a memorial plaque in the new space-flight museum. The plaque itself which was part of one of the first moon-bases and is - apart from some minor asteroid-impacts (actually Gerbil chewing marks!) in perfect condition for its age! The exhibit is called “A view back and a view forward” and features original artefacts, like the automatic short range sensor probe SRT-570 and a model of the legendary Type 928 Space Cruiser (which I took from the book Great Lego Sets: A visual History). The Admiral also took the occasion to also introduce the crew of the newly commissioned fast space-cruiser Andromeda, led by the legendary Captain McLane, who will soon depart for a deep space exploration mission. In her speech Admiral Takayama emphasised that it was always the spirit of the Futuron Federation to “explore new worlds and go boldly where no-one has been before”. More about the adventures of the Andromeda in the near future!
  7. I booted up Lego Avengers again after a while today, and wanted to get the new stuff. I bought the Season Pass when I got the game, but now I can't find any indication of where I'm supposed to go to unlock the characters or the levels. Does anyone else know how to solve this?

  9. Hi, I have been looking at gameplay of the Lego Worlds game for PC on the web and wondered if it was possible to export vehicles/other models to lxf / lxfml files. I decided to try to build some models, starting with vehicles first, I have also noticed that some models are actually from official sets. So I opned those in LDD and checked the accuracy compared to in lego worlds, and it matched 100% Other (2 or 3) vehicles are partially based on existing sets I then decided it would be cool & useful to actually purchase Lego Worlds. The game is excellant however. you can only export basic bricks to a lxfml file currently (this is also the same story with imprting from LDD to the game). Assumably more brick support will be added in later versions of the game. Never the less, Here is the collection of models in the current progress http://bricksafe.com...ipe/lego-worlds Heres some examples of cood models: More to come shortly! Regards, Snipe
  10. Hi Fellow Eurobrickers, I would like to use the opportunity to advertise my MOC a bit. I normally build planes and to some extent cars (see my Photostream on Flickr), but this time I decided to build something different: the heroes of Penguins of Madagascar. If you like them, you can support them on http://ideas.lego.com/projects/92191. The goal was to build it at a small scale and yet try to make each one of them reflect the character as much as possible. Each one has some unique features. Rico can tilt his legs, wings and also open his mouth to come up with a new item to solve the puzzle. Skipper can also turn his head around. Because he is taller, Kowalski has more ways to use his wings. Last but not least, Private has his always innocent look. They all have a special item to help them through the adventures:
  11. Welcome yet again to the land of Balfe Nui! After the Toa of the Farside Village escaped from the protosteel worm, they were recruited by the Patriots, a group of Elite Toa. The threat of Nuva and his infected warriors is still there, and the new team must do everything in their power to stop him... This comic was made in 2013. This is the direct sequel to Uprising, so make sure to read that story first! Here are the links to each page: Prolog: Assault Chapter 1: Gathering Chapter 2: Swampland Chapter 3: Heights Chapter 4: Solitude Chapter 5: Renegade Chapter 6: Resurrection Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10 Chapter 11 Epilog Edit: Cancelled due to the limited amount of interest. I hope you enjoy! Made using: Sanyo Xacti S4 and iPhone 5 (camera), Comic Life 2, Gimp 2.8 and Picasa
  12. Theme Simply stated, the theme of a story is the point the author is trying to get across. What does your story say about life? It can be a simple, open-ended theme. For example, the theme could be about humor. The author could be trying to remind everyone to have fun in life, and try to help them along by making them laugh or giving them good ideas to have fun in recreation. Or it can be a more complicated concept like trying to convey a point that makes the reader realize that over-automation can lead to killer results for those who rely too much on technology. Character An author should have a good idea of how their characters would react to any situation. Their characters should have unique reactions to each situation, some varied, some nuanced. Getting into small details of a character's personality takes a lot of time and in-depth thought. This usually happens organically and it's good to keep a word doc with character info that you can easily access and jot in notes about your characters. Let's start very generally with the definition of a character, in terms of a comic's theme. A character's story is often described as a through-line. The through-line is the characters journey. How does the character change from the beginning of the story to the end of the story? The change the character goes through should convey the story's theme. Lesson 1 Simply state your story's theme. Analyze how you plan to demonstrate this viewpoint with a basic story arc. Choose three characters from this story and detail how they will change from beginning to end. Compare these characters' through-lines to the comic's theme and explain how their journey demonstrates your theme. Start a new topic to complete this lesson. Ask any questions you have about the lesson in the topic you start. You can always update the first post with new ideas or changes to your lesson's answer. Have fun!
