    [MOC] Modular Cantina

The problem with being an Afol and living in a small flat, is I don't have enough space to display all my sets. So I decided to build a diorama made of 75052 Cantina and other bricks from my collection. Then, I added a lot of minifigures from the original Trilogy plus others like Jar-Jar and a robot from the Space theme. I was inspired by the Creator buildings int he way I wanted my cantina to be opened vertically. The fanboys will tell that the Cantina has only one floor... My crew : The "easter egg" :
  6. Hello star wars lego people. Proxy here, first post. I've been collecting the star wars sets for a couple years now. I have a bad habit of buy two of each set to see if I can combine them into an improved version of the set. My latest run was at the Mos Eisely Cantina. Using two Cantina sets, along with some left over parts from my advanced Jabba's Palace, I made the follow improvements. I'm not 100% complete and satisfied with it yet, but its a good start. I wanted to keep the same feel as the original set, and not build something insanely accurate to the movies. I feel this still holds onto the heart of a lego set. [MOC] Mos Eisley Cantina

“No droids allowed” Mos Eisley Cantina_00 by L-space, on Flickr A few years ago I came with the idea to expand my 4501 Mos Eisley Cantina set with extra booths. These were to house my space minifig collection or at least the figs that I still had. With the arrival of the Collectible Minifigures I reset my goal to include these as well. Over the years I picked up some more minifigs in bricklink-orders I missed as a kid so it became to represent a modest collection for real. With the pieces bought for the expansion the MOC could house 44 minifigs. The idea was to copy the booth and simply add another via a hinge brick to the side. Then the news leaked that a new cantina set would be released. After my first 75052 Mos Eisley Cantina set I came to the conclusion that adding booths by hinge brick just would not work for me anymore. So the whole idea was rethought and with searches on the internet I found a map of the Cantina on Wookieepedia. After several tries and many redesigns I got the layout as I wanted it. The MOC is now based on two sets 75052. I tried to keep the colourscheme as close as possible to the first Cantina-set. Some fixtures and detalling comes from the Wii Complete Saga game and some just from my own imagination. To top it of I decided it needed some extra’s, so the revolving sign was made. For the Star Tours sign I made the Starspeeder 3000 based on the original design by Chris Deck and the other side is of course a take on a wellknown poster. And what would a Mos Eisley Cantina be without a “No Droids Allowed” sign. Since the hinge bricks didn’t cut it for me anymore and the MOC would become too big I just went for technic-pins to make it more managable. It now seperates into five parts. The back, the front, two sides and the bar. The MOC spans 50 studs by 79 studs and beyond that several vehicles and minifigs were added for a more grand appearence. This including part of my very first LEGO set (920 Rocket Launch Pad): a moonbuggy with driver and the new Exo-Suit. Also several other MOC scan be included to create a more grand display for conventions and shows for instance. To date: Imperial Communication Post, Outhouse, Droid-shop and the Taxi-speeder. The idea of displaying the Collectible Minifigures disappeared in favour of adding at least one minifig of every space theme ever released, still including the Collectable Minifigures range. This then expanded a bit to space related themes as I could just imagine my Exo-suit standing right next tot his. The search on bricklink and brickowl for minifigs then showed me some minifigs never relaesed in Europe and I just had to have them as well. To complete the Cantina four custom minifigs are added: Wuher, Tork and two guest appearances. The complete minifig line-up now counts 84 minifigs including the Alien Conquest Clinger and can be found here: Mos Eisley Minifig Count. So after my longest intro ever I hope you will enjoy my version of the Mos Eisley Cantina: Mos Eisley Cantina_05 by L-space, on Flickr Mos Eisley Cantina_25 by L-space, on Flickr Mos Eisley Cantina_33 by L-space, on Flickr Mos Eisley Cantina_06 by L-space, on Flickr There are a lot more, 46 in total, pictures of details and the interior on flickr.
  8. I know it's like beating a dead horse already but after watching TFA, I felt compelled to post this. I made it like a playset because I have a 5 y.o. son who is into LEGO minifigures as well. The droid detector is also working (the flashing lasts for about 2 days without turning off completely) but I am looking for a way to use 3rd-party lights to add more LED lights. This is my attempt to recreate the Mos Eisley Cantina scene in episode IV and be faithful to how the characters should appear. I strived to put each characters in the location I believe is correct but of course there are many ways to interpret where they are because some of them moved around. So I just assumed the internet references I used are correct because after watching this scene over and over I am still confused where some of those aliens are located. Why work in progress? I feel that it is too small for 64x64 ... to be minifig scale. Should I move it to a bigger plate dimension? What I like with my current model is that each 32x32 plate are 'modular' so I can snap them on and off whenever I am moving them around for display. Another MOD Cantina

Hello everyone, This is my first mod of an original set, I don't mod/moc, as I only build and display sets, however, I felt last year's 75052 Cantina set was a little underwhelming, and like many others hoped to buy a second one at a good discount to combine two. So after picking up another 75052 heavily battered at 40% off (the box was crushed and the sticker sheet was folded in half between the opening flaps), I decided that I would combine the two using only the parts provided in the two sets, still keeping with the aesthetic and design of the original set. I would like to credit user 'Artisanproxy' for some of the inspiration that went into making my version of the Cantina. Here it is. I apologise if the photos are a little small and over exposed. Most of the right side is the original set apart from the bar area. Unfolded The seating area on the left is from the original set. I decided to go with the curved wall at the back of the bar to give a bit of diversity from all the hard edges, but I'm not sure if I like it myself. Back of the bar. I turned the back archway into a window/service area, kind of like a drivethrough. Seating area of my own design on left. The bar. Comments and criticism welcome.

  15. After escaping the crash and storm, Tac and I made it to Mos Espa. I had contacts on Tatooine from my days working on the Corellian trader Alkan. In hopes of securing safe transport from Tatooine, I was able to make contact with the brother of a Rodian bounty hunter I knew named Gle Norto. Gle's brother Bouhra arranged to meet me at a cantina on the West end of the city. Bouhra introduced me to Bossk, a bounty hunter friend to his brother. Bossk was soon to depart Tatooine for Nar Eurbrickka and was willing to take Tac and I in exchange for a small fee. I didn't have a real good feeling about this Trandoshan. "I'm not sure this is our best option." I told Bouhra. "You've got little choice, the city is crawling with Imperial troops." he replied "Okay, let me find my friend. We'll meet you at the docking bay." I said Please judge this free build. Donnie Bricko
  16. Hi, I just like to share my Cuusoo projects will all of y'all, since you're all SW-fans. Of course i'm aware that those projects are not likely to get made at all. But for me, it was kinda nice to develop some Lego-designs and I finally understood how to work with LDD. I drew myself some mini-figures (the accent on all these sets are the mini-figures by the way) and connected them with my LDD-designs. My main reason for these designs is that sometimes when you have an idea stuck in your mind, you want to execute that idea in the hope TLG will see it and gets inspired and uses some of those ideas :-) Anyhow, my first Cuusoo-project was called Star Wars Universe Packs and contained six boxes with five mini-figures in it, a stand and a mini-building. A little like the Planet-series. Biggest reason for those packs is of course the need of more typical SW universe people (the kind that won't show up in other Lego SW boxes, because they're not main characters) for us to make our Lego SW world more complete and detailed. The second project is all about the Mos Eisley Cantina. The thing is, we need a new cantina. A proper one. The set 4501 isn't sufficient in any ways (ok, except for bringing us Greedo). In trying to inspire TLG i designed a Mos Eisley Cantina in packs. So in order to complete your Cantina you'll need all the packs. The reason for this is of course the number of mini-figures. If you want a real SW Mos Eisley cantina you need a cantina-band, you'll need some space weirdo's, a bartender, some good folk, and a snitch with some bad folk. I thought this was a clever idea for TLG to avoid one big set with too many mini-figures and not being super expensive. I'm not the greatest Lego-designer so the designs may be pretty rough. I hope you'll like them, i just wanted to share with y'all! Oh, if you like to see them on Cuusoo: SW Universe Packs Mos Eisley Main Cantina Cantina Band Pack Cantina Benches Pack Cantina Entrance Pack
