  1. Wanted to make the mech a bit more unique build-wise while also bringing in multiple elements from the Climber Mech. Also, I feel like the Elemental mechs released this year would have been way better if they had each come with an extra limb to further the mix and match gimmick.

    [MOC] Midi-Scale Y-Wing

Introducing you to my latest Midi-Scale spaceship, the timeless Y-Wing from Episode IV - A New Hope! At 546 pieces, this compact and intricate model is barely wider than your average smartphone's height, but keeps a dense, detailed look and accurate proportions. I initially made a first prototype more than a year ago but was unhappy with the half-baked, almost playset-ish scale. I took on the challenge again and recreated it entirely from scratch: it's now smaller, more accurate, and just better in every aspect. Despite the small size, I did my best to capture the essence of the original ILM prop: tilted cockpit section, engines off-center relative to the thin support struts, asymmetrical greebles from top to bottom, cockpit turret... Believe it or not, the deceptively simple shape of the body was not easy to capture at this scale: with such a tiny surface to work with, a subtle balance had to be struck between incorporating complex greebling and "drawing" an accurate body outline. The cockpit section was a whole other beast, but once I figured out how to create the tapering, things clicked pretty fast. I managed to reproduce the slight downwards tilt, the yellow stripes on the fuselage, and the more discreet gray stripes on each side as well. I believe it's about as small as you can go when creating a Y-Wing cockpit without sacrificing crucial features and proportions! This model comes with a removable stand. Although it being purely a display piece, its swooshability is very good. In addition to being cost-effective, I think it makes a nice desk model for anyone loving that ILM prop look, with a small space footprint. ► Instructions for the Y-Wing are available at BrickVault! 4. Friends, over the past couple of months I have been working to improve the photography of my models. Particularly, I hope to develop a consistent and excellent setup that can be used indoors to photograph my MOC at anytime of the day (or night). I am interested in any suggestions others use for their current photography needs. I suspect my needs at this time revolve around lighting. My current setup uses: Canon Rebel XT DSLR Camera A large posterboard Two midsize photography lamps (120V, 240W, 6400 lumen bulbs) Here is a shot with the current setup: Here is the lighting (and whiteness) I hope to achieve, albeit in an indoor setting. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  5. Happy May the 4th everyone! Today is a special day. That's why I'm releasing my first MOC: the Torment Imperial-II Star Destroyer. Made of 3,011 pieces, 25 inches long (79 studs), weighing 2kg, it's a medium-sized, modular Imperial-II Star Destroyer holding on a single Lego stand. It features all of the recognizable elements of the real studio model: turrets, antennas, hangars, bridge, neck, engines, with close attention to every detail and proportions of the original Imperial-II ship from Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Designing took about 70 days, plus 15 days for building / testing, & another 15 days for making instructions and photos. More than 3 months of work. My goal was to build the most accurate SD as I could, in a limited scale - a moderately-sized build that could still easily fit on a desk or shelf, and be moved freely. This choice of scale made working on greeble and proportions a real challenge. Designing a single, secure stand was not an easy task either. But after all this work, I'm really happy with the result. Hope you guys enjoy it, and may the 4th be with you! ► Instructions for the Torment are available at BrickVault. More pictures on my Flickr page. Extra pictures (dark mode disabled!) :
  6. Do you use or know any unusual or unofficial building techniques that other people may not know? This topic is suppost to be for MOC builders like me and many others here on Eurobricks. Maybe you have some cool building techniques that could be useable! I don't call these techniques "illegal" because I don't understand why they should be illegal. It would be great if maybe some people could take inspiration for building their own MOCs here.
  7. Hey everyone, This is it! After the Torment, the Negotiator proudly joins my Midi-Scale capital ship collection, engineered with the same philosophy in mind: maximizing accuracy, features and proportions of the original model in a moderate size. Made of 3,145 pieces, 68cm (27 inches) long, weighing 1,6kg, the Negotiator is a medium-sized, modular Venator-class Star Destroyer holding on a single, unique Lego stand. This piece of work is the result of weeks of designing, engineering and intense testing. I wanted the Negotiator to be dense, massive-looking, intricate and packed with detail, while being compact and manageable. Building at such a scale, I had to take into account every possible constraint (balance, weight distribution, structure sturdiness) while never compromising any aesthetics (SNOT look, thickness, greeble). The Negotiator features every intricate part of the studio model: turrets, hangar and docking bays, engines, bridge, greeble... with utter attention to detail and proportions of the original ship, as seen in the Clone Wars movie. Hope you like it! ► Instructions for the Negotiator are available at Brickvault. More pictures on my Flickr page.

    [MOC] Midi-Scale TIE Advanced

As an absolute fan of the original trilogy, I had to build more Empire ships in Midi-Scale. I decided to start with my favorite TIE model, the TIE Advanced. This 496-piece TIE Advanced features a fully SNOT and detailed surface. It also includes rear engine thrusters at the back of the cockpit dome. Most importantly, being able to design smooth but razor thin wings was the key to making this build look proportionate and realistic. The same applies for the rear section of the fuselage which, being only 1 tile-high, ended up looking just a thin as the original prop model. Logically, the ship scales well to my previous TIE Reaper - I'll keep exploring more of these in the same scale, and maybe one day have a whole fleet of Midi TIE ships! ► Instructions will be available at Rebrickable soon. [MOC] Midi-Scale Razor Crest

"I like your ship. She's a classic. Razor Crest, am I right?" My Midi-Scale collection keeps expanding with more than a classic piece of spaceship, the legendary Razor Crest from The Mandalorian. Made of 1,230 pieces, 30cm long, this baby ST-70 Gunship has a total of... zero stud across its entire surface, making it a true 100% SNOT build. At such a size, replicating all the complex angles and features of the original model required advanced SNOT techniques. I really wanted to push the limits of what could be done at such a small scale. Capturing the tapered body also required making a very compact 2 stud wide structure that could still hold everything together securely. The ship has two display modes, "in-flight" with its canted stand, and "landed" with easy-to-install landing gear. Hope you like it! ► Instructions for the Razor Crest are available at BrickVault. 12. "Wrecker, easy with my ship. "Your ship?" My Midi-Scale collection expands again with this nanofig-scaled Havoc Marauder from the Bad Batch series. Despite the small size, I once again went for a full SNOT look and paid close attention to proportions of the original shuttle. The build comes with a discrete, transparent stand to be displayed in flight mode. ► Instructions for the Havoc Marauder are available at Rebrickable or via email at flyinspace.mocs@gmail.com More pictures on my Flickr page.

  14. Hi guys, I am in the US, and will be moving into the house of my dreams next month. I will finally have the basement I've dreamed about. The one where I will have plenty of room for storage, build space, and a large scale city display. This brings me to my point; what should I do about tables? I'm going to need tables for building on, sorting on, etc. And I'll need tables for my display(s). And I'll need a bunch of them. What's my best bet? My most economical option? Do I buy a bunch of tables? Or do I build my own? What have you guys done??? Thanks!

    Building a Mech

Hi! I just recently got into Lego and I'm interested in MOCs. I saw the Ninjago Overlord Dragon and was inspired to turn it into a mech. I've watched some videos about making mech frames, arms, legs etc but I need help identifying parts to make joints so I can purchase them individually in bricklink. I'm actually interested in balljoints for the shoulders and hips and the smaller ones for the wrists and ankles. Also, what is the best to use to connect the head to the body? Finally, I wanted to convert the wings into swords. So what parts would be good for hilts?
  17. *Your entry has earned 12 XP* Word has spread that the Imperial Pyerce maybe on our home planet of Mandalore. Nabare sent me out to see what info I can find. I walked through the city streets of Mandalore. The informant was supposed to be at a cantina just around the corner. I sat in one of the stools and waited for him. Turned out he ran the joint. He came to the bar and started conversation. A shot blasted out. I turned to see an imperial not far away. This had been an ambush. The blast should have killed me at point blank range- good thing I had beskar. I pulled out her blasters, shooting both the imperial as she ran and the informant. Searching the imp scum, I found a data chip. Turns out that doshing informant got her the intel she needed. We were going to find Pyerce- at least I hoped.

    Inspirational Modular and Castle MOCs

Hey guys, I decided to create this topic and the main idea came from this and this post (so special thanks to @danth and @Digger of Bricks!). I would like to highlight three things before I start to post inspirational MOCs: I’ll post three staff picks everyday! Please feel free to post your favorite MOCs! Have fun admiring and taking inspiration from those great MOCs Top three MOC’s IMO in Baroque architecture: 1. This incredible Baroque Church by @Jellyeater! 2. This amazingly detailed MOC by @pj_bosman! 3. This greatly shaped modular by @cimddwc! Here are the three best Baroque MOC’s IMO! What do you think about them? Would you buy modulars like those if TLG made? Here are the Steampunk ones: 1. This incredible layout made together by @castor-troy and @domino39 (they also made one MOD of the PR and the MS and two MOD’s of the CC included in this layout. But they look so different that they are more MOC then MOD). EB topic here and Flickr albums with more photos here, here, here and here. 2. These great Steampunk modulars by @adde51! 3. These very interesting modulars by @Zilmrud who as well made great MOD’s of the PC and the BB! Here are the three most gorgeous Steampunk MOC’s IMO! What do you think of them? Would you buy modulars like those if TLG ever made?
  20. Upon receiving the 2016 Clone Turbo Tank I soon became curious of it's potential. I had seen rather negative reviews with the Tank as the subject matter, and soon became worried that I had made an unwise purchase. However, I happened upon BrickBros UK YouTube channel and soon thought of an idea. Perhaps I could turn this around. Using pieces from the Clone Turbo Tank I began work first on a Venator-Class Star Destroyer. Within a short period of time I became convinced that this particular vessel wouldn't work, so I decided to start over again and attempt a Pelta-Class Frigate due to the 2016 Rebel Combat Frigate being on my mind. Once finished and run out of plates I glared down upon my abomination and decided that I would rather see what Eurobricks may try. So here I leave you with a quandary. Imagine: The Galactic Republic ordered a shipment of cruisers from Kuat-Drive Yards to be delivered to Coruscant. Upon arrival it became apparent that there had been some sort of misunderstanding: the shipment contained only Turbo-Tanks! Instead of succumbing to dread, republic engineers decided to use the parts from the tanks to construct the cruisers they had ordered. Your Goal: (If you choose to accept it) Construct an alternate vessel using ONLY parts from the 2016 Clone Turbo Tank. This can either be done in LDD or reality. Upon completion upload an image (or more) to this topic. I suggest for the LDD creation that you use the following file: Clone Turbo Tank Sadly, due to my economic status there will be no prizes for a "winner." However, the best looking ship will most certainly join my fleet of Republic Vessels. The following vessels would be appreciated: + Consular-Class Cruiser + Pelta-Class Frigate + Aquarius-Class Light-Cruiser + Acclamator-Class Frigate + Venator-Class Star Destroyer I would share images of my failed attempt but I fear that its disturbing complexion my cause a disruption in your appetite or cause nausea. I thank you dearly for reading this long and rather odd post. I do hope that you attempt this challenge and post your own creation, whatever it may be! I wish you the best of luck, and may the alternate building begin!

    Fixing loose clutching bricks

the pieces that have lost their grip. I won an auction on ebay for a few sets(sheriffs lock-up, bandits secret hideout, renegade runner, broadsides brig, and wavemaster) for a great price of $55. A lot of the pieces from the 2 pirate sets are like this. I don't get how this happens as I have bricks from the mid 80s that are still as grippy as ever but there you go.
  22. Hi everybody :) I got this new lego set for 2017 , the Lego Friends 41314 Stephanie's house and I am super happy with it. And I made a building review of it, I hope you will like it :) I also got the gift delivery and the pizzaria, and I will make building reviews of them to this weekend :) Thanks for watching and hopefully you will enjoy :) Have a great day !!!!

    [MOC] Lego Seinfeld!

It's a set about nothing! I built this detailed recreation of Jerry's apartment in my spare time over the past couple of weeks. If you like it, I would be extremely grateful for any support of this set on Lego Ideas! [link removed]
  24. This is a build I have been wanting to do for a while, and thought I'd share with you guys on the forum. In this build I'll be combining one of my favourite sets with one of my least favourite sets. The 7900 heavy loader set is one of my favourite sets of all time. I love the cab-over design and the three axle chassis, and although its big, I think it looks perfectly proportional for what it is, and hasn't dated as much as other sets I own from the same release year. The truck looks awesome and beefy on its own, but the bridge that came with the set is too large to be sitting on the back of it all the time, and without a trailer or implement to tow it isn't of much use. There are no other semi-trailers that are compatible with the truck, and any custom trailer or implement that I've made has doubled up on what I own already. In this build I will be combining the 7900 heavy loader with the 60060 auto transporter, one of my most hated sets. I'll be making a new dual-axle chassis for the semi-truck and putting the car transportation bed on the back. I've already tried a test fit of the parts and it looks great. The 60060 auto transporter is very minimalist, and looks silly when it isn't trucking anything around my town. The proportions are just wrong, and with such a small puny cabin, anything that I pose on the back that's wider than 4 studs looks silly. The 7900 cabin would be a nice touch, and allow me to pose some bigger vehicles on the back without it looking dumb. I'll post changes here, but all photos will be uploaded to an album on google drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1XzrzH4sKs5NiD6B9WTDTMNCHkkoMG5xk?usp=sharing

    Captain MetalBeard

I'm not sure where to put this... Does anyone have a booklet or plans for building captain metalbeard like the one in the duel? I'd like to get the plans and order the parts. I don't feel like shelling out $190 for the duel set when I only want half of the set. Thank you for replies!
