Hello Speed Champions and City fans, It was my entry to Bricklink Designer Program Series 3 and 4. It has received many kind comments and support, but unfortunately it has not been selected, therefore I decided to make the instructions available here: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-177592/_TLG_/school-bus I always loved American style school buses, therefore I decided to design one to Bricklink Designer Program Series 3. It is not actually based on a real one, but it contains many typical details: the black bumper rails and STOP arms on the sides, the crossing arm, the side and rear doors, the rearview and crossover mirrors, the mudguards, the warning lights etc.. The roof assembly can be removed as one piece and in this case the internal details are visible: there is a driver seat with steering wheel, dashboard, gear shift, passenger seats and even a fire extinguisher. It is 8 studs wide, studless build in minifigure scale and fits perfectly to Speed Champions cars or to a LEGO City. There are many working details: the front and rear doors, the STOP arms, the crossing arm and windshield wipers. I wanted to create a clean build and tried to fill every unnecessary gaps and hide unnecessary studs, therefore some tricky, but legal build techniques are used. The set includes three minifigures: a driver, a school girl with a pen and backpack and a school boy with a brick built backpack. The model has space for 17 minifigures: one driver and 16 passengers. If the passengers are kids with short, rigid legs, then they can stand on the seats. The building instructions guidelines have been followed. It is built from the palette "BDP Series 3", so there are some color and part restrictions. The color "Bright Light Orange" would be a bit more authentic, but the available parts are restricted, therefore I decided to use "Yellow" and I am satisfied with the result. The STOP sign is very rare part and it is not available in this palette, therefore it is replaced by a simple, white, circular sign with a sticker. The door 43967 is also not available in yellow, therefore it is replaced by a brick built one, however, in this case I was able to add some extra details: a black door handle, bottom window and red lights. This is my entry for the 4th round, a very detailed defensive tower with several elements such as: a improvised stable, a crossbow in the upper part, a habitable floor, etc. The number of pieces is 2991 and it has a modular system so each floor can be built separately. It can even be extended from the 3rd floor. Very easy to build and many possibilities. But that doesn't mean there isn't time to enjoy the beautiful winter weather, such as going ice skating on the frozen pond or playing in the snow :) In the fourth zone, winter, you can find these plants (often in hibernation) pine trees berry bushes I am a big garden enthusiast myself and love working in the garden. Many types of vegetables grow in my own vegetable garden, one of my favorite vegetables are carrots. What are your favorite vegetables in the garden?

Hi there, I tried to open PartDesigner but I get this error stating 'Failed to initialize PartEditor. Please report to studio@bricklink.com'. I also uninstalled it and then reinstalled but the same thing happens no matter what. Anyone else having that same problem? Have I done something wrong? -
[MOC/MOD] A budget 6073 Knight's Castle for the 90th Anniversary

The 10305 Lion Knights' Castle is amazing. It's also $400 plus tax. The 31120 Medieval Castle is a great castle for $100 plus tax, but it doesn't have a lot of minifigs. What if you want a really simple, classic castle? As an exercise, I built set 6073 Knight's Castle from 1984 in Studio using only parts currently available from Bricks and Pieces. The result uses 670 parts, compared to the original 408, because the panels are brick-built, and it has no horses, and the minifigs are plain, but other than that it's a pretty close copy. The render doesn't show the minifigs, shields, and weapons, but they're included in my Bricks and Pieces bag. The total cost on Lego.com is $95.15 plus tax, plus whatever two horses and saddles cost from Bricklink or Bricks and Minifigs. Genuine used copies of 6073 currently go for $175 on Bricklink in the USA, or $150-200 on eBay depending on the condition. Will I go ahead and buy the parts? Almost certainly not. The 31120 is a much better castle for $100 plus tax, except for the paucity of minifigs. But it was an interesting exercise. Maybe in a few days I'll see if Bricks and Pieces can yield up a decent light gray recolor of the Yellow Castle. The horses won't be missing from that one .... -
As I'm writing this, it's 9:07 (Pacific Time) on November eighth. Bricklink seems to be broken in some rather exasperating ways: Frontpage will only partially load Can't log in Stores will only partially load Does anyone else have these problems? Possible fixes?

I have decided to build the, what is in my opinion, best ship in Star Wars: the classic and sleek imperial shuttle. From making a wanted list and ticking off what I actually have, is there any other advice you guys can pass on to me? I was curious how often I was buying on BrickLink. Turns out, it's almost once every two weeks since 2006 . Of course, orders can be of different sizes, but even so, seems like a lot. To calculate it, I used the number of feedbacks as a proxy for purchases which, I realise, is an underestimation because some sellers don't provide feedback. BrickLink provides your joining date, i.e. Member Since {date}. In my case, it's a day in 2006. Using a date duration calculator such as this one, I worked out the number of days since becoming a member. It's then a simple matter of dividing the number of days by the feedbacks to approximate days per order. Mine is just over 14 or two weeks. Scary! What's yours? You can add BrickOwl, Lego Ebay etc purchase rates but I'm not sure where you get the duration and number of orders figures from on those platforms. -

I'm interested in rare/uncommon minifigures and I came across this guy on Bricklink: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=ovr023&name=Overalls Gray on Orange with Pocket, Gray Legs, White Cap - Glued&category=[Town][Classic Town]#T=S&O={"iconly":0} Only produced for a factory display in Germany, only got out because they fell out from under the acrylic glass on occasion. There aren't any available but I can only imagine how much they're worth. I'm looking to broaden my knowledge: what are some similarly rare/expensive figures/figure parts? Not talking about examples like the 2013 Captain Rex, 2016 Thrawn etc that have shot up in value now but were not difficult to acquire when available (although figures from sets aren't completely excluded if older, limited distribution etc)

LDD and Stud.io issues

I recently installed LDD and Stud.io on my new laptop and ran into issues with both - only 4.3 would install from the lego site so I tried downloading from another source, but 4.3 (I believe this was up to date around 2012) is the only version I could download. On Stud.io, I had issues with connection - plates often do not align without making sure they slide completely down the studs without clashing which is annoying, and minifig arms do not connect to torsos without being aligned perfectly with the hinge tool. I believe this has only been an issue since the most recent update. Any help with either issue would be appreciated! -
Hello, I want to build a lot of MOC's, but do not want to take existing ones apart. Sometimes I use a part in a certain MOC where I could have used another one. When building another MOC, I might realise that I needed that certain part. What do you do in that situation? Do you take apart the first MOC to replace the part, taking the risk that you do not know how to put it back together? Do you buy the part (PAB, BrickLink,...) and leave your first MOC be?

With the 10-Year Anniversary of the death of Daniel Jezek (1977-2010) in September 2020, I've taken advantage of the new Mosaic Tool on Stud.io and made a huge portrait of Bricklink's founder! This year, he would've turned 43 years old.

A 4-6-6-4 type steam locomotive. First conceived by the Northern Pacific in the 1930s, they were among the steam locomotives that represented "super-power" where engine builders learned to create locomotives that combined both power and speed. The first batch of 12 of these engines were first delivered in 1936 to replace double-heading methods. The locomotives please Northern Pacific so much in fact that 9 more were ordered in 1937. They could be found all over the NP's divisions hauling fast freight trains and reefer trains. Their 69 inch drivers allowed them not only strong pulling power but also the ability to go 60 miles per hour. I thought it could bring a real "challenge" to those who want to build it. It has OVER 2000 parts total. It has a side rod system that needed to be reversed engineered a few times to perfect it to where no 3rd party elements are required. Unlike most other articulated steam engines I have seen on YouTube and other places, mine has a FIXED rear engine unit and a front free swinging engine unit just like Union Pacific 4014 that was restored in 2019 if I am correct. Description: Locomotive is powered by 4 LARGE motors, these sit inside the boiler and provide the means of going forwards and backwards. Both the IR receiver and battery box sit inside the tender. I would recommend some extension cables given the fact that the locomotive itself is very long. The IR receiver also plays a part in the tender for the locomotive is designed to look like an oil burner. The bogies on the tender are specially designed to not only to look realistic but also to take turns at the same time. And the same can be said on the lead truck in front of the first engine unit. The cab will actually let you house an engineer and fireman to simulated them driving the locomotive. At long last I present to you all a train car to go behind my Z-6 challenger: The Pig Palace Car This type of car was used exclusively to haul animals like pigs. They were unusual because unlike most other freight cars, this one was a double decker freight car. Its small space allowed animals like pigs to ride on it with ease. It has a straw bed inside as well as troughs to keep them fed for longer journeys. This particular Pig Palace Car will hold up to 18 pigs. This will soon be on Lego Ideas soon. I will post the link when it comes up. It already is on Bricklink for a 3D view.

I ordered some pieces on BrickLink and this one piece looks different than the other pieces that were obviously real Lego. This piece has "BL" logos on the studs instead of "LEGO" and there is no text on the bottom. The piece also feels different when connected to genuine Lego pieces. As this piece was ordered on BrickLink, the "BL" makes me a bit confused, though I believe Bricklink wouldn't intentionally make a fake Lego piece. Any thoughts?

Hello Eurobricks, some unestimated trouble occured in some of my latest Bricklink orders. I want to share it here as it seems the problem gets more frequently. Most parts, especially those with studs are easy to distinguish, but it gets tricky when it comes to technic liftarms and connectors or even axles. Maybe someone can help me with axles in different lenghts as i haven´t found a method to check them. The newer 3l has the Lego CR on the front, but older ones?? Best regards Gerhard

Greetings, I have made LEGO 10020 on LDD with a yellow warbonnet and a B unit. I also have one in the blue warbonnet scheme and two other designs that use Earth blue . The point is that I'm afraid that Earth blue ,which is the most important color, will be hard and almost impossible to find in some cases. For example: 10020 Uses grilles and has some of those little doors (Part#: 3188/3189) and only one is sold from New Zealand in Earth blue. So my question is: Where do you guys get rare colors in large quantities from? (Example: Earth green, Earth blue, Medium azur, Aqua) ATSF F7 Yellow

Hello everyone! The first couple of AFOL Designer Sets from BrickLink have arrived to the people who pre-ordered them, so I thought it's time to make a review of my design, The LEGO® Story (which now has a set number too, BL19008). The postman gave me a classic brown box, with the BrickLink logo on it. After I opened it, I was finally able to see the beautiful, high quality box design. It has a white sleeve, with a couple of images of the four vignettes, the BrickLink logo, the 60 years anniversary logo from LEGO and a nice sticker, with "Exclusive LEGO element included" label. When you remove this white part of the box, you can see a nice backdrop photo for the model (on the inner side of the white sleeve), and of course the matte black box, with the BrickLink logo, and a nice brick pattern. The box is closed with a special shiny sticker, which includes the set number and name, and the (user)name of the AFOL who designed it. Let's open this black box! You can see here a thank you message from BrickLink and The LEGO Group, the exclusive element, the numbered bags, and the building instruction: Here is the exclusive element! - 39789pb01 The set contains 9 bigger, and several smaller bags (inside the bigger ones, for the smaller LEGO pieces), which are numbered similarly to the official LEGO set bags. A1 and A2 contains the pieces for the old workshop, B1 and B2 for the old moulding machine, C1 and C2 for the designer's office, and finally D1, D2, and D3 contains the pieces for the modern factory with the big moulding machine. The building instruction booklet is really high quality, just like the ones which you get with the bigger Creator Expert sets these days.
