A collab for the Silhouette Category of the 2023 Summer Joust with Sean Mayo, Carter W, Eli Willsea, Micah Beideman and myself. Loosely based off of some concept art released with the announcement of Alto's Oddysey: The Lost City. Instead of making a 6 stud depth build myself, I thought it would be fun to have 6 builders build 1 stud depth "layers" and then compile them into one seamless image, and this is the result! The layers were built by the builders as follows: Dk Brown: Sean (Because Grant had to bail last minute) Reddish Brown: Me Dark Tan: Carter Sand Blue: Eli Medium Blue: Micah Medium Azure: Sean And now that I've dissed Grant for bailing last minute, I can also thank Grant for "breaking into" Eli's house and taking pictures of Eli's layer while Eli was out of town so that we could make it by the deadline! Here it is! Refinished and redone, with a couple of added bits and bobs, the Mountain Oracle! Ascend the steps of her mountain sanctuary, and just maybe she'll speak to you of the future. This is a MOC I created a while back, I've made some upgrades since the first version. The fountain down in front, as one, as well as that waterfall coming out of the mountain. And a second partial tools up on the hillside to the right. And yes, that staircase is a lot more sturdy than you'd think. It's supported from underneath the platform landing as well as by several clear supports that are hidden behind the staircase itself. This is the original MOC, that's been improved. Hey Checkout the update to my Lego Islanders themed anniversary set that is heavily inspired by the enchanted island statue which is now standing in a vibrant jungle environment. Please support this idea if you like it because I really need all the support to stay in the long game of getting 10k support and making this happen. SUPPORT NOW Islanders Spirit Beacon The islanders are a rare sight these days. It has been more than 20 years since the Islanders pointed spear and arrow at pirate and soldier alike. After many years of glorious combat the last of the proud warrior-zealots were defeated. Their strongest leader: shaman king Kahuka still walks the eternal planes. The Islanders enchanted island has been looted and pillaged, the tribes scattered to the winds. A beacon of hope remains deep in the jungle on one of the islands in the archipelago of many waters. A faceless warrior priestess of the old gods is gathering the scattered tribes. The whispers beneath her mask speaks of king Kahuka's return. Broken spears are mend, arrows sharpened, howling of restless spirits in the night. This "spirit beacon" is heavily inspired by the original statue design that came with the Lego Islanders enchanted island set 6278-1 in 1994. It's a scaled up version with many new details that is nice as a nostalgic reminder or as a new playset. The spirit beacon has multiple chunks that can be taken apart easily for different play configurations. The statue has a compartment in the back that can serve as a prison or inner sanctum. A trapdoor leads to a small dungeon compartment were captain cheekbones lurks A treasure chest is hidden behind the different detachable faces of the head. The remaining Islanders have adapted to use stealth instead of numbers, Therefore most of the warriors use the jungle mud and leaves to conceal themselves. Its probably problematic that they still use the same bright painted shields and faces :P The zealots and priestess paint themselves with the classic red paint of the Islanders They are worthy of invoking the spiritual essence that is embedded within the shrine of the beacon. Here is my take on a Minifigure Scale Ancient Greek Homeric Galley. A predecessor to the Bireme and the more widely known Trireme, the Homeric Galley was a rowed warship that sailed the Aegean Sea around the 12th century BC. This ship specifically is based off of the Epic Poem The Odyssey and its protagonist, Odysseus' ship. It was developed from the ancient liburnian, which was the mainstay of the Roman navy during the Empire.

OK, at this point, a small series of sets covering the Ancient World is essentially inevitable... All the molds have already been made, and it is just a matter of time now... So here is an ambitious new attempt to make a series of sets through Cuusoo. I designed a series of 8 of them, ranging all the way from $30 to $300, including different sets for Greece, Rome, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, Stonehenge, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, and the Nexus of Bifrost. Please have a look, I'd love to hear everyone's feedback, and then you can come to vote on all of them for free at LEGO Cuusoo! And I will incorporate everyone's suggestions as soon as I can! Hi guys, this is my new creation! It's my entry to the Colossal Battle Contest V 2017 for the category . CBC V - Dread Ambushers Category I choose to create a great battle from the ancient Hellenic Wars, known as Peloponnesian War. A small force of Spartan army was cutted from their main army of Sparta by Athenian army and their navy on the island of Sphacteria. The Athenian forces manage to land on the island after a surprise attack and forced the Spartans to surrender! It's one of the few times that a Spartan army was surrendered and did not fight until death. I hope you like it! You can see more pictures in my Flickr page! C&C are appreciated

These ara 4 little set that i call "house of wonders": each one is a representation of a house/laboratory of 4 classic personalities of the ancient world. - Fidia, greek sculptor, with some of his works displaying; - Archimede, in the exact moment when he realise how to explain his famous principle (Eureka!), a little model of his theorem about the mesaurements of a circle, and a piece of mirror that he created in the battle of Siracusa against the romans; - Apollodoro of Damascus, architect, displaying some models of his most famous works: the Pantheon, the Traiano's column, Traiano's arch, the bridge over the Danube; - Plutarco, writing some of his "moralia" or maybe a biography of a roman Emperor...

Hi guys! This MOC created with LDD is an interpretation of one of the oldest monument in the city of Rome: the Temple of Hercules Olivarius (sometimes erroneusly called the temple of Vesta). This is a simple recreation of a common day at Foro Boario, with some romans minifigures living their lives: a mother with her son going at the forum, two militaries talking each other, a rich man walking out of the temple (maybe after he made a gift to the priest...), a guy chilling under an olive tree, waiting for his fiancee, a man offering an apple to his loyal horse. At the entrance of the temple is possible to recognize two statues: the god Apollo on the left and Mercury on the right. I hope you guys like it! =) Have a nice day!

Solon (Greek: Σόλων; c. 638 – c. 558 BC) In Greek mythology, Poseidon is the god of the land and the sea, rivers, sources and drinking water .. With his trident could both create rough seas and calm waters.. His symbols were the trident, fish and occasionally the horse or the bull.. According to legend.. the Poseidon seduced Medusa in the temple of Athena.. the goddess was so furious with it.. so she transformed Medusa into monster.. The ugliness was such.. that whoever looked at her face.. turned into stone .. Medusa wanted to revenge Poseidon now.. so she kills the priestesses and the soldiers who guard the temple .. Their only hope now is to seek the help of the gods.. But to be heard by the gods, they need a sacrifice.. Hermes.. the messenger of the Gods, is there and waiting to hear the invocation to the gods and to carry the message ..

I need some Ancient Bones for a project I've cooked up, and you lot are gonna--" "Whoa, there, kiddo, shoudn't you let 'em introduce themselves first?" The woman rolls her eyes. "Whatever." The man chuckles. "The name's Mac. I'm normally a driver for the Shadeaux--actually worked with a few other Heroes a while back--but today I'm out here on personal business." Mac jerks his head toward the purple-haired woman. "This charming little lady is your employer Kiri Murasaki." Kiri eyes the Heroes. "Pleasure," she says acidly. "Can they get to work now?" Mac smiles generously at the young woman. "All in good time, kiddo." Mac looks back to the Heroes. "So, 'fore we get started, mind introducing yourselves? Now moving way back in time. This ship was in use in the period from 800 BC-300 BC. The archaic and the classic periods in Greece. This was the time of Homer (not Simpson), Pythagoras (a2+b2=c2) , Thales (Waterworld), Sappho (Woman into women), The battle of Marathon (yes this is where the name is from), The battle of Thermopylae (“THIS IS SPARTA”), The Peloponnesian war, The rise of Macedon (That great Alexander fella)… Penteconter front by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr This vessel was rowed by fifty oarsmen. These were free citizens and the use of oared ships is said to have a strong link to the Greek (Athenian) Democracy. The Penteconter would later evolve in to the more well-known Bireme and Trireme. Update: for an updated version, please scroll down ----------------------------------------------------------------- Ancient Greece has always fascinated me. I studied their language in high school, and this year I visited Greece itself. And although I've been fond of their architecture since a long time, I was impressed by everything I saw there . People say that Greece is just a pile of ancient rocks . But I say that pile of rocks is quite a sight . This inspired me to build some columns in Lego. The Dorian order is very typical for Greece, but not much of a challenge for Lego . I had a go at the Ionian order, but that turned out way too big. Spirals are really hard to do. I was left with the Corinthian order. Although not the most typical for Ancient Greece, the design fascinates me. With the acanthus-leaves, it looks like a tree. It makes temples look like an extention of nature. Not a better thing to do if you want to provoce the super-natural, the divine. The model consists of 412 bricks. _________ [MOC] Corinthian column by Bert.VR, on Flickr______[MOC] Corinthian column - exploded by Bert.VR, on Flickr I wanted to make it more or less in minifig scale, and I think I managed that . The tooth pieces (part ID 49668) made nice leaves, and the rest followed. The problem was fitting as many as possible in a small space. The eight-bar-rings (part ID 75937) prooved to be pretty handy. I used three of them in the capital, and one in the base. It really is the heart of this model. The actual column was rather hard to make. The technique from the Lego website made a column with eight tiles forming a cilinder. That was too small. I ended up with twelve tiles, connected by the cross/steering wheel/winch handle/I-don't-know-what-to-call-it-piece (to make things simple: part ID 48723). It turned out quite well, although I have some minor doubts concerning the strength of the construction. I'm not too happy with the base , but that's not the main focus, and perhaps the pillar should be a little longer. But that shouldn't be too hard to change, and it had to fit on the picture anyway. This design could be used in numerous Greek or Roman builds, and I made sure there were studs on the top and on the bottom to connect it. I hope you get inspired...

Often it can be difficult to decide what I want to build. The Collectible Minifigures theme has brought many interesting historical minifigures. Last year I have built a large Greek layout for the Spartan from series 2: http://www.eurobrick...89#entry1533491 After I had finished the Greek layout I thought a lot about what I should build next. Should I build a Roman layout for the Roman minifigures? Or should build an Egyptian layout for the pharaoh? Or a 1700's layout with a lot of minifigures with white wigs? I would like to build it all.
