  1. With settlements being raided, and altercations between Corrington and Oleon in the eastern islands, it was no time to relax on security. And Eslandolan troops were scattered all over the Brick Seas. But recruitment numbers had been up ever since the regimental soccer team went to the Soccer Cup finals. Finally, Weelond had a battalion of fresh troops ready for service to supplement the veterans already on duty. The new battalion paraded through the main gate of Fort Weelond, reviewed by General Alonzo: The traditional core of Eslandolan infantry were the pikeman: But it had become apparent in the Eslando-Mardierian war that the musket needed to be featured in greater quantity: A couple more pics: All C&C welcome.
  2. I've done some math on the troop capacities of various vessels. I've found that carrying troops is actually pretty easy, IF you have a specific troop carrying ship, with a high cargo stat. Here's a Graph Troop Capacity Graph by North White, on Flickr Raw Data Thoughts?

    [MOC] Four-Towered Castle

After finishing it and creating minifigures I uploaded it to LEGO Ideas which you can find here: Four-Towered Castle It contains some extra information such as piece counts. Feel free to leave a support on the LEGO Ideas site if you like it. 3D Model view here on Sketchfab: Four-Towered Castle The Full Inside view. Note that the castle is made in a "L" shaped layout. The left/West Entrance. Notice the flaps that would allow archers/crossbowmen to fire through and take cover. The inside side of the West entrance. Entrance to the hall from the courtyard/bailey. The alchemy room. With a green substance in a flask and a chandelier below the tall ceiling. The certainly need a ladder here. A tower with a wooden hoarding around it. Crossbows are stored here. The armoury. Along with the stacked sword it has a bed for a soldier here as well. View above the towers. Better view of the catapult and the winch for raising the portcullis. Inside the shack extension. The Great Hall. Turnable fire in the great hall's fireplace. Winch which you can rotate the fire and exterior of the hall. Drawbridge Outside. Gate Inside. Chest room. Stone Sigil. Walkway. Romans with a catapult & Celtic Warriors. Upper view.
  4. The defence of a Corlander naval base on a largely uncharted island cannot be left to green troops. Thus, a troop of Her Majesty's Winged Cuirassiers has been assigned to King's Harbour. Outside the settlement, a barracks and stable has been erected, fortified against minor threats. Here, we see three cuirassiers riding out of the main gate, likely going on another patrol to map and survey the surrounding areas. The Winged Cuirassiers derive their name from the winged banners they carry atop their long battle-lances, and the breastplates (cuirasses) they carry on their chest against small arms fire and lances. Each section of four Cuirassiers is lead by a bannerman, who, instead of the wing, carries the banner of her Majesty, Queen Anetta. They are elite, shock-troops, and have often been known to turn the tide of battle with their largely unstoppable charge. Armed with a battle-lance, a long-sword, and a cavalry carbine, they are versatile and highly trained troops. Recruited from the universities, and offered good pay and overall conditions, they often transition into important positions in the colonies as their tour of duty ends. ___________________________________________________________ Sometimes, you just need to figbarf and build some troops. C&C welcome. The build will be licensed as a small residence.
  5. I put together this build for the Flickr group, Lego War, which held a contest during August and September. It is a scene from the book/play/movie Les Miserable where the students build a barricade and fight against tyranny in the June Rebellion of 1832. Behind the Build I'm a firm believer that Lego MOC's should be sturdy and playable, so I made each of the buildings in the image able to open up and included internal details such as furniture, wall hangings, internal walls, and doors and in some cases stairwells. This was helpful to me as builder since to make the scene, I could empty the furniture from the surrounding buildings to make the barricade to join the rebellious minifigures in their fight against the "National Guard" minifigures. Making the plaza and street sections took a lot of round tile pushing and left me with sore thumbs. The good part about this is that now that the tiles are on the plates, I can reuse the plates! For those of you familiar with some of castle Lego sets, you might see that I styled my buildings after the buildings from Lego's Medieval Market (set 10193). In fact, you can see the top of the tan building from the Medieval Market included in the background of the image. The National Guard soldiers are using muskets and hats purchased from Brickwarriors.com which I hand painted to highlight the metal parts. Funny Fact Though, this is the "June Rebellion" which in France would have been at the start of summer, I portrayed the plaza as if it were taking place during Autumn. Having myself only seen the TV Movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077936/), I didn't know the time of year that this was occurring until I did more research on the topic. Apparently in my version of events, June that year was particularly cold and caused the trees to turn colors. 6. The Ténotclaxcans scouts : Thanks to the Doctor Gellibrand, Felipe de la Manzana managed to persuade King Azuma to send him his best jungle scouts. The team is lead by a masked chieftain, helped in his task by 2 priests, here a man and a woman. The team is now equiped by swords from Elysabethtown armory but the natives kept their spears too. The throwing weapons are still the silencious bow and the poisonous dart blower. The Ténotclaxcans found them so effective they did not accept bearing flintlock pistols. I am developping the lore of the Ténotclaxcans by creating some troops. Hope you'll enjoy this build.
  7. After Jan Zwartbaard set-up a miningspot on Isla Philip, he travelled back to Prio. This time with 2 platoons of MAESTRO Elite Soldiers with him. And also MAESTRO General Samu, aka "The Dragon" came along. They did not went to Prio to start a campfire and sing some happy hippie peacefull songs, but to prepare for the upcomming war against Mardier. This was the first batch of hundreds of soldiers MAESTRO will send in order to help the cause of the Duke of Prio. Their camp will be the beautifful white mansion Jan Zwartbaard received as a gift from the Duke. It was not located in the city of Alexport, but somewhere strategically outside the capital. Hereby I present to you, General "The Dragon" Samu. A military genius, ready to lead the MAESTRO troops and its mercenaries to a gloryfull victory. For MAESTRO, For the Duchy of Prio!
