Location: D04 Tags: Science Yeah, I’m just experimenting with this new scanner technology. It’s good to get out of the office and actually do some science. I don’t know, I guess I didn’t realise how much paperwork was involved in being CEO. Less than you’d think. I don’t even have the key to the Executive Bathroom! Right? Apparently Lady K never gave hers back and there aren’t any spares. I’m sure I saw Dave Daring coming out of there the other day though… Shhhh! No, I thought I heard something. Probably nothing. Location: Terrial Minor - D04 Tags: Exploration, Land Vehicle Here we are on Terrial Minor exploring. Ugh, I'm not happy in the hot desert especially when your surrounded by dozens of different types of alien species. Making it worse is the fact that we know very little about most of the creatures, they could be aggressive, predatory or just rabid. Sure some could be friendly but I'm not taking any chances. We should be okay if we keep moving, but guess what we just got stuck. And I smell smoke!!! The wheel is on fire, NOT GOOD. Worse there are some kind of flying bugs coming out of the ground...I gotta get this fire out so we can get the heck out of here before it's too late... Location: D04 (M.A.N.T.I.S. supply ship in orbit around D04, Maxximus Cor's office) Tags: Civil … … … … … Mr Cor- *sigh* Your impatience… troubles me. However, we should get down to business. Uh- The Council of Five has sent Lady Kianna on a secret mission of the utmost importance. So- She will no longer be able to act as CEO. Who- As per standard protocol in these situations, the Council consulted the Personnel Promotion Matrix to choose her successor. You can imagine our… consternation… when it suggested you. Me? Yes. The program appears to be suffering from the bugs that are afflicting all our Octansoft software currently. However, at such a… sensitive... time for M.A.N.T.I.S. we can hardly flout established protocols to appoint a more suitable candidate. So- Effective immediately, you are the CEO of M.A.N.T.I.S. I’m- Honoured, yes. But make no mistake, your primary role is still to continue work on Project Lambda. Do not allow your new title to go to your head. All decisions you make as CEO will be subject to review before execution. Who- The Council does not have time for such matters. Your decisions will be reviewed by Chief Accountant Long. WHAT? That's- You’re dismissed Sal. ---- Apparently my Lego room is actually "our guest room", and so I haven't been able to get to my bricks or spare much time this week . Hopefully I'll get chance to rebuild this in actual bricks in the future sometime, but for now it will have to do! Unrendered version in the spoiler.

Mastiff Valley Terrial Minor - 3185 Tags: Spying, Special Operations, Military, Vehicle Jackson knew his grin probably made him look foolish, but he didn't care. He'd gotten away with it. No one had noticed his gambit at KD-11. Even the bomber pilot hadn't suspected that the orders were fabricated. He'd been paid to remove all traces of the Dust Demons from the sector, now that Kawashita was getting close to discovering the truth behind all the shell corps and proxy agents. Jackson had no problems betraying Kawashita when the money was good. All he needed now was to reach the rendezvous point in his Series 7 Skip-Speeder. A gift to himself that he'd been able to afford after the MANTIS money came through the network. They were paying well these days for any advantage over Kawashita, but Jackson didn't care about the politics now that he could also afford to get out of the galaxy back to somewhere more civilized. He thought about all his future plans while taking a few moments here and there to enjoy the smooth glide of the Skip-Speeder. What Jackson didn't know was that it was exactly the purchase of the ostentatious all-terrain vehicle that attracted the notice of the one individual in all of Kawashita that you absolutely did not want to notice you, and certainly not if you were selling secrets to MANTIS or helping them cover up their connections to the various pirates and mercenaries that operated on the fringes of Andromeda's escalating tensions. "Koro. I don't have long, but I was hoping you'd have a report on the integrity of KD-11." "Way ahead of you, Raven. I'm pretty sure I found the mole." "That's good news. Are you close to him?" "You might say that." BUILDER'S NOTE: This was my attempt at doing some of the cool colors for vegetation. I like these dark blue cactuses but wish I had more pieces of this color in a wider variety. I'm not 100% happy with the effect, but I'm actually pretty pleased with the speeder and the angle of the shots on this one. C&C always welcome, of course.

Location: D04 Terrial Minor Tags: Kawashita, Terrial Minor, Spaceship, Military Mr. S: Let’s see… Mitchell, Darin. Aka Blackhawk. We have a mission for you. Blackhawk: Yes, sir! Rootin’, tootin’, ready for shootin’! Mr. S: Yeah, well, the last time you shot something, you took out one of our planes! Blackhawk: What was that pilot’s name again? Oh, well, he isn’t pressing charges, so who cares? Mr. S: Hmm… Let’s see. I do, for one. And so does the board. We lose enough equipment due to MANTIS activity. We don’t need to lose more because of an over-eager pilot! Even Aera couldn’t defend your actions. She was sitting quietly in the corner pretending not to know you! Blackhawk: Am I being (gulp!) grounded? Mr. S: No, we can’t afford to do that. You’re a hell of a pilot. You handle anything that flies like no one I’ve ever seen. It’s just that you’re overly… enthusiastic. You need to rein that in a bit. Blackhawk: Umm… Yes, sir. What do you want me to do? Mr. S: We have intel that MANTIS is sending a supply convoy to Terrial Minor. We want to intercept them with a Kestrel in orbit before they make planetfall. Blackhawk: Yes, sir! On my way! Blackhawk, moving out!! Mr. S: Hey, at least up there, there isn’t anyone else for him to shoot down… After last week's un-inspired session, I did a little research. I've felt like I needed to up my game a bit, and I think I came up with some possibilities. This is the first attempt in my build style change. I think it's going in a good direction. Location: D04 - Terrial Minor Tags: Science Mission Log Recording - "This is Dr. Steven Quin Livingston with my fourth mission in Andromeda. For this mission I have been asked to go into the nest of a large carnivorous bird that lives in the deserts of Terrial Minor. The holographic scanner is very useful in this situation, I can get everything I need about these birds in just a few moments." "I am happy of course that the the parents are not in the nest! After scanning the infants, I have determined that the red plumage is a clear indicator of the male of the species and the green plumage the female. As I am finishing the final scan the infants start to become agitated, I turn and see the that the mother has returned." "As per the plan I jump out of the nest and run for the safety of my shuttle, Tanto-3 that Bill my driver had parked only 20 meters away. The mission was a success and we are returning to the drop ship in the Tanto-3. I am sitting back in my examination room for the flight back reviewing this data, we will leave the scanner in place to see what data we can get from the mother. Bill will have the pleasure of retrieving it." Comments and criticism welcome

Location: D04 - Terrial Minor Tags: Vehicle Mister S and Kara flew "The Ambassador" towards Terrial Minor, hoping to either board a Kawashita carrier or at the least land in a Kawashita safe zone. "The Ambassador" wasn't exactly meant for travel between planets although it could definitely do it, howbeit the travel time was quite a bit longer than the carriers that used the warping tech. I hope we get there soon... I gotta take a leak. What? Are you four years old? Just saying... I don't see any restrooms in this thing and its not like we can just stop and I get out and pee by the side of the road. (Gives Mister S a strange look.) Yeah, I know. Guess its not much different than when I was a tube racer. The only difference then was that I had the time to take a leak before I got into the vehicle. This time, I had no idea I was going to be stuck in a fighter craft for 9 hours. (Sits back and recollects his past as a tube racer.) OOC: Thought I would build something that I could interact more with my son so built these two little racers for us to send "racing" across our floors. Then I decided to build the tube track to make it seem a bit more futuristic and use as a build for AG...

Mission 8: First Contact Tags. Kawashita. Terrial Minor D04 We put our ship down a few KM out so as to not alarm the alien outpost we found. The Corp wants us to make contact and try to form a alliance of sorts so Kawashita can operate on Terrial Minor without conflict. As we approach the blue outpost a outer door opens. We make first contact, thankfully the alien isn't armed or hostile. Everyone in my squad was given earpiece translation devices so we can understand what the alien is saying. We also have attached throat mics that will transmit our speech into their language. We are invited in. The aliens seems worried but open to talks. I guess another corporation, Mantis, hasn't been as friendly to them. Thankfully Kawashita works to keep relations open and cordial with everyone. "Take me to your leader", gah, I cannot believe I said that but they are happy to do so. Our conversation and agreement is classified information. I won't divulge what was said. Next we are given the tour of the facility. It seems to be a listening outpost, they have been monitoring all three corporations operating on the galaxy and are pleased with Kawashitas movements and respect for life in the galaxy. This is a high frequency signal tower. It sends a radioactive signal to our other outposts to relay information. Just tell your redshirt to not get to close to the front of the...... Welp, more TPS reports for the bosses. Losing a redshirt isn't the worst thing to happen. Don't worry, this doesn't change our agreement. I'll have my two other reds take care of the remains. They will also remain here, to help keep Kawashita included in different reports being sent. Thank you for your hospitality, sorry about your man.

Tags: Exploration Kawashita Engineer's Log - AC - D04 Terrial Minor It's been 4 or 5 weeks since I was last in contact with the rest of the Kawashita fleet due to a malfunction with the GATE (Gravitational Anomaly Transport Engine) on my ship. We've now managed to reach Terrial Minor safely to continue with our work in the Andromeda System though. Unfortunately, there is still conflict with MANTIS who have also landed on Terrial Minor. Because of this, a few of us were intercepted by MANTIS pilots and drones while driving some trucks across the desert ( www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=112482 ). I've managed to get away, but lost my transport, so I'm now on foot trying to find my way towards somewhere useful before I encounter any other MANTIS agents or local wildlife. OoC: Not built anything for this for a month or so and I had a flash of inspiration yesterday to explain why as part of my characters story that I could build which resulted in the above. I've still not caught up with all the builds others have posted yet, but when I was uploading the image to Flickr, I thought I could tie my story in to soccerkid's build for this week to explain the basic scene I put together. I prefer to keep studs showing for rough surfaces like sand, but wanted to leave an obvious trail of footprints, so tiled this bit of desert.

Location: D04 - Terrial Minor Tags: MANTIS, piracy, vehicle Job: Driver Start Log: After a rather uneventful mission on C04, I got another more exciting assignment: capturing some Kawashita vehicles and equipment. I even had the help of the drones I'd previously confiscated from Octan hands, though now they have a much more suitable paint job. They were pretty thrilled to receive an actual combat mission, and get to drive some sweet new MANTIS rigs: The MANTIS bulldozer/tank features a spinning cockpit, and opening cargo bay; the MANTIS hovercraft features hinging sections, the MANTIS motorcycle features an opening rollcage; and the Kawashita cargo truck features a working tailgate.
