  2. UPDATE! Deadline has been extended to June 17th. Thrawn. One of the Empire's most brilliant tacticians. His ability to discern his enemies actions and reactions was legendary. He earned his reputation because time and time again he was able to predict what his enemy would do. One of his methods for learning about his enemy was by studying their art. "I've been studying the tactics of the Rebel General Belcoze who's been giving us so much trouble. Do you see these two paintings? One was painted by the General's cousin just last year. It's an original that is fetching millions of credits at auction. The other was painted by Belcoze when he was six, over twenty years ago. It was found at the back of an old closet when the Empire raided his family's home. There's no way General Belcoze's cousin could have seen this painting before making his own. Now, the Iktotchi species is known for their precognitive abilities, but this example shows that General Belcoze is particularly gifted in this area. So when we try to ambush him, he'll expect it. That's why I want you to send a second group of soldiers to ambush his ambush." "We have you now General Belcoze!" "I was expecting you." "So were we." Now it's your turn! Build two MOCs depicting Thrawn learning about his enemy and triumphing over them by studying their art. The first MOC should be no smaller than 16x16 square studs and should show Thrawn learning about his enemy through studying their art work. The second MOC should be no smaller than 32x32 square studs and should show how Thrawn's knowledge allowed the Empire to be victorious. Rules Only one entry is allowed per person. Both MOCs should be shown in the same topic. Entries without 2 separate MOCs will be disqualified. There is no maximum size limit, just the minimums. Thrawn must be present in the first MOC. He may be present in the second but is not required to be. Some lenience will be allowed if you want to participate in this contest but do not own a Thrawn minifigure. Creativity will count heavily if you depict Thrawn without the actual minifigure. The contest will run from 1st May to 17th June, 2017. As long as it's still June 17th somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified. There must be at least 10 entries for the prizes listed below to be awarded. If there are fewer than 10 entries, there will still be prizes, they will just not be the same as are listed in the prizes section. This contest is open to all EB members, even if they joined EB after the contest has begun, with the exception of the Star Wars staff, who are not eligible to win prizes. All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to being entered in the contest. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. All entries must be built from real LEGO. No clone brands, no third-party custom parts. Digital entries will be allowed. All digital entries must use only existing pieces in existing colors. All digital entries should include a link to the digital file to ensure only existing piece colors are used. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Watto’s Junkyard forum, the title prefixed by, "[Thrawn] - entry name". (For example, "[Thrawn] – Out-thinking the Iktotchi".) A link must also be included in this thread for your entry to count. Post pictures no larger than 1024x671, but you may link to bigger pictures. You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on two pictures (the intention is one for each of the two MOCs entered for this contest). All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited. It is also prohibited to use the Lego logo in any picture. All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC. For each category EB members will vote for their favorite entry in each category. Prizes (may change, but probably won't) First place will win 75105 Millennium Falcon Second place will win 75140 Resistance Troop Transport Third place will win 75152 Imperial Assault Hovertank
  3. Voting is over and the votes have been tallied, congratulations jansued and Artizan! Ever since 2007 The Lego Company has raided our wallets with their mostly popular (and sometimes less so, I’m looking at you 8015 Assassin Droid!) Battle Packs. Now it’s your turn! Create your own Star Wars Battle Pack to populate the galaxy (and your desk) with more minifigures! An all Jedi battle pack, Star Wars Christmas battle pack, an astromech battle pack, a cantina goer battle pack, the options are endless! All entries should include a small build with play features as well as 4 minifigures. Look to the previous battle packs for inspiration but use your imagination too. If you are using aliens that do not already have a mold produced by Lego (such as the Quarren), they must be a race that makes an appearance in one of the main 6 Star Wars movies. This is not a fig-barf contest. Each entry will be judged on play features, the main build, and the minifigures. The entries will be given a maximum of 6/15 points for the build, 5/15 points for the minifigures, and 4/15 points for play features. Rules Each person is allowed up to 2 entries in this contest, but each person is eligible to receive only one prize. Each entry must include 4 minifigures or the equivalent of minifigures (brick built figs may not contain more than 30 pieces). Each entry should not include more than 100 pieces (not including minifigures and 1 weapon apiece), but there will be some grace given if the piece count exceeds this number be a small amount. The contest will run from 1st May to 31th May, 2015. As long as it's still May 31 somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified. This contest is open to all EB members, even if they joined EB after the contest has begun. EB Staff are ineligible to win prizes. You can use official stickers or custom stickers for the minifigures only. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Watto’s Junkyard forum, the title prefixed by, "[sWBP] – entry name". (For example, "[sWBP] – Youngling Battle Pack") A link must also be included in this thread for your entry to count. Post pictures no larger than 800x640, but you may link to bigger pictures. You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on one picture. If there are more than 25 entries, EB staff will make a first selection to bring the number down to 25, and then EB members will vote for their favorite entry among that selection. EB staff will using the judging scale listed above. EB members should vote based on the judging scale, but will not be required to show what points they judged by. Rules Update: The piece count allowed for brick-built figs has been increased to 30 pieces The piece limit rules has been updated to be more flexible. It's still at 100, but there is some overage allowed. This is being purposely left vague because I don't want people to abuse this rule and I reserve the right to veto any builds that are obviously too parts intensive. Entries are not required to list their piece count (though you still can if you want). The piece count needs to visually look like it could be a battlepack but can be done in a completely different way from the TLG produced battlepacks. (See my example entry for what would still be acceptable if it's not in the TLG format). Prizes First and second place will win 9489 Endor Rebel Trooper & Imperial Trooper Battle Pack. Example Entry: Rodian Bounty Hunter Battle Pack A galaxy far, far away always has work for a bounty hunter. Go on adventures with this group of Rodians! Help them crack the security codes on the door! Help make sure this group of bounty hunters always gets their guy, alive or disintegrated!

  5. Voting is Open! In a galaxy far, far away a group of characters we know so well had adventures we don't know about. We've heard about Lando's maneuver at the Battle of Tanab but we've never seen it. We saw Anakin leading Clonetroopers, but did he ever lead Stormtroopers the same way? And we know Anakin and Obi-wan escaped from a nest of Gundarks, but have you ever seen a Gundark? With the upcoming Rogue One movie, we will begin to delve into some of those in-between movie stories. But why wait! Add your own story to the Star Wars Anthology and submit it for this contest. Details There will be two size categories. The small category entries can be between 0-32 studs square. The large category entries can be 32 square studs or larger. Regardless of which size category the entry falls into, all entries must include a named, non-generic Star Wars character that appears in Episodes 1-7. For example, you could not have an entry that only includes generic Stormtroopers, but you could submit an entry that focuses on FN-2199 (TR-8R). All entries must show an actual or fictional event that is set between Episodes 1-7. Fictional events can include material from the EU/Legacy, Clone Wars shows, Rebels shows, or your own imagination! Everyone may enter both categories but with only one entry per category. One entry per member and per category. You can enter both categories with different entries, but you'll be eligible to receive only one prize. Rules One entry per member and per category. Or you could show how Count Dooku and Modok would work together and you could having them torturing Anakin Skywalker, but you shouldn’t have them taking on the entire clone army. You could also just show stressed the team work would be such as if Red Skull, Doctor Doom, and Modok tried to team up with Bossk, Boba Fett, and Dengar. Size limit is 64x64. And let me tell you, it was hard to narrow it down to the final entries that you all get to vote on. For all of you whose entries did not make it, it wasn't because your entry wasn't good.
