  1. Back in October, Lego launched a James Bond-themed contest on Ideas. I didn't initially plan on entering, but ultimately got an idea that I thought was original and interesting enough. I mostly did that because I wanted to challenge myself and to try to do something difficult, something I had never done before, and didn't care about winning a prize. So I came up with a Lego rendition of M's bulldog statue, seen in Skyfall and Spectre : Now, obviously this is the real version. Here's my build : I initially wanted to use slopes and curved slopes to shape the flag, but it didn't look really good, so I decided to use plates instead. The studs would help erase the stairway effect created by the different layers of plates, and create a generally smoother shape. Plus, it would make the distinction between the dog and the flag clearer. When I found out - much to my surprise - that I ended up being one of the two Runner Up Winners, I decided I couldn't let my entry stay a digital build only, so I made a few changes to the model, ordered the necessary parts, and built a physical copy of the MOC : Most of the changes are invisible : some parts that don't exist yet have been swapped for parts that do exist (like the 1x3 jumper in red, or the 1x1-1x1 bracket in white), there's been a few structural changes to make it easier to attach the head and the chest to the body, and I've added a small pedestal that showcases the MOC better, and more importantly that helps securing the arms (otherwise they'd only be attached to the body with a single stud, and could easily fall off). You can see how the MOC is built by checking the 3D model on Mecabricks, and if you want to build it yourself, you can get the parts list here.

    MOC: Skyfall, The Rats

Skyfall: The Rats Based on the first scene in the James Bond film Skyfall that introduces the main villain, Raoul Silva. “Hello, James. Welcome. Do you like the island? My grandmother had an island. Nothing to boast of. You could walk around it in an hour, but still it was, it was a paradise for us. One summer, we went for a visit and discovered the place had been infested with rats. They'd come on a fishing boat and gorged themselves on coconut. So how do you get rats off an island? Hmm? My grandmother showed me. We buried an oil drum and hinged the lid. Then we wired coconut to the lid as bait and the rats would come for the coconut and... plink plink plink plink plink…they would fall into the drum. And after a month, you have trapped all the rats, but what do you do then? Throw the drum into the ocean? Burn it? No. You just leave it and they begin to get hungry. And one by one... …they start eating each other until there are only two left. The two survivors. And then what? Do you kill them? No. You take them and release them into the trees, but now they don't eat coconut anymore. Now, they only eat rat. You have changed their nature. The two survivors. This is what she made us.” ~Raoul Silva Enjoy ~Nemo
  3. This is a large and hard to photograph creation showing the epic Pre-title sequence of the latest James Bond film, Skyfall; where in Istanbul, 007 chases after the hitman Patrice whose stolen valuable information, leading to them landing on a moving train—with MI6 agent Eve in hot pursuit. 4. As this was originally a reply to a Request Thread request, I thought I would actually add more and more to it, as I'd love to make some of the James Bond characters from the new movie, Skyfall, but also from the classic films and add them all here. As I get theme done, I'll just add them here, instead of the request thread. Hope you like and as usual your comments and critiques are definitely welcome! (Only have one design done and may not add to this for a while, as I have the Assassin's Creed designs to go back to first) Note: The following designs are original property of the designer and are provided for personal use only, alterations or use of this design for sale are only allowed by permission of the designer James Bond - Skyfall (Daniel Craig version) Though I know it is tradition to keep the eyes dark, Daniel Craig's blue eyes are so distinctive and part of his look, that I think it was necessary and needed to make them light blue. Based on this picture: Clear Version: Silva (Javier Bardem)- Skyfall Here's a work in progress face, as Silva's face is VERY difficult to get right. It may be changed and edited from time to time. For now, at least, I thought I'd release his face for those that would like to print it off and use. I think the best use for this would be with a tan torso and dark brown legs, and the tan swept back hair like here. I will also upload a version with his police decoy outfit soon, so stay tuned. Tan Suit Version (This should be sized correctly to fit the minifigure and will not need to be resized in Microsoft Word if printed off - please let me know if this is not the case) Clear Version:
